"* Gave conflicting information on how to pay premiums * Web site does not work, so I cannot log in to see my account * Hold times are outrageous * After multiple" phone calls, problem was not resolved *I visited their office in person and was assured they knew what the glitch was and would fix it and call me back the next day *After the office visit I was able to log in to my account once, and it showed no payments. I can no longer log in to my account. *No one ever called me back, after nearly 2 weeks. I left additional messages during this time and complained on Facebook, where I was assured I would get a call back that same day. *In March, a healthcare provider called to verify my policy and was told it had been canceled Feb. 1 (this is how I found out). *When I called OHC after that to see what was going on, they told me I was "ineligible" - though earlier that day they had accepted credit card payment for another month. *In early March, one of my healthcare providers said she had sent in an application to accept OHC weeks ago and had not heard back. Since I checked to make sure my providers would be accepted by this policy before I chose it, this makes me think their provider list is more wishful thinking than truth. Dealing with them has been an absolute nightmare. Though I have paid 2 months of premiums I have no health insurance to my knowledge and even visiting the office in person did not get results. I was pretty excited about getting health insurance from a nonprofit, but I think if people weren't locked in for a year with them, they would have already gone under. The incompetence is staggering.

"I was silly enough to do all the cleaning, painting, etc., without even considering if insurance might cover at least some of it! "My bad." But, within" a month, when I recovered from the emotional trauma (it was a friend of mine's kid and his girlfriend in their mid-twenties who had rented, and then "trashed" the condo), I went "wait a minute".... I have insurance on the place?"! So about two months after the damage occurred, I went to my insurance agent's office---only a mile from my home. He was not there as was per usual. HIs assistant was, as was per usual. I forget her name. But she had been strange in the past...One time, when I'd asked to have a copy of all my policies and their prices--- so that I could review what I was paying yearly-- she was all but hostile. She asked me "why" I "wanted" it. I said, I was just doing my own bookwork. She had a sour look on her face as she just turned to her computer and started typing. She did not speak a word to me during rest of that visit--- (could it be she thought I was scouting around for other competitive insurance prices...?). She printed the papers out-- gathered them tersely from the printer (again without looking at or speaking to me). When she handed the print-outs to me in a
, I had to ask her if I could borrow her stapler. (!) She stapled them and dropped them in front of me. I then thanked her and went into the "lobby" where I stood quickly glancing through them. She came immediately to the threshold of her office looking into the lobby (door open) and said with barely
hostility: "Is there something else I can do for you?" I left promptly. So when I dropped in last summer to check on my coverage regarding the "trashed" condo and saw right away that she was the only one in the office, I thought about turning around and leaving! But, my rational self said: "Wait a minute; this is your insurance company that takes money out of your account to the tune of thousands a year...has taken thousands out of your pocket for twenty-some years...and you've never had a claim. They have never paid a dime in all those years for any claims whatsoever. Here I was about to duck away because the assistant---not the broker himself but some woman he pays salary or by the hour...has been intimidating to me? Uh uh, I decide. I go in. I sit down. She's not friendly as usual. She's facing her computer as I explain the condo situation to her. This is what she says (I kid you not) after I've finished describing the problem to her. "Do you think you need a lawyer?" To me, this is like the dentist you've been paying monthly for years suggesting you might want to call an acupuncturist when you mention tooth pain. So, on to
: I caught up with him eventually in his office to tell him how disappointed I was in his assistant, State Farm...and him! He said something to the effect of 'sometimes personalities clash.' Whoa. So her personality and mine were at odds? I have no idea what he might have been thinking... I was the customer who paid the money. He was the "Agent." His assistant was not helpful or nice in the event of my needing to finally maybe use their services as a company. ...... So I tell him I'm forced to... not just wanna sorta maybe... but
.... get another Insurance Agent and company. (I need a root canal from my dentist (?) I don't expect the dentist's assistant to suggest I call a
Shui practicioner)...! He says he's sorry ... wants to retain my business...etc. He agrees to get an investigator out to take pics of the condo. I also have pic's I can send him which he agrees I should send to him. The person who will be taking pics, investigating, will call me asap. Nobody calls in the first week after that. They do not call in the second, and third, and fourth and fifth week... Bad enough. But I cancel the insurance in mid-October. I get bills in November, December and January. I pay my insurance to State Farm to December 2014...just to be safe...even while I'm covered (car, house, property, etc.) by new insurance company since October. When new insurance co. sends statement to State Farm that my insurance kicked in in October, as per my request---to give further and final proof to
that I am owed a refund for the months after October 11th 2014, I get no response.
, nothing from
's office. I don't expect to hear from him --- well--- except maybe if he wants more money from me for nothing!

Roofing, Insurance Agencies

It’s inevitable: a day or two after a windstorm blows through town, you get a knock on the door and there stands a contractor offering to replace your roof. Follow this advice before you sign over that insurance check.

Angie's Answers

First, call your insurance company and tell them you do not want any proceeds paid to the contractor under your policy as you are not going with them.  This way they can not collect money on your behalf.  Insurance will typically have you sign a form for release of funds anyway but this is a good extra step to make sure your signature isn't forged.  Second, call the contractor and tell them you will not be needing their services afterall.  Did your husband pay a deposit?  If so it may be non-refundable.  Then follow up with a certified letter.

An email as well doesn't hurt but some states don't yet recognize email as a form of communication for legally binding documentation.  This may have changed and I'm sure more states do recognize them as I haven't followed that topic elsewhere as much as I used to.  The contractor's office should be local.  A sure fire way to ensure they got the message is to deliver the letter to the office of the contractor and have someone at the office sign a duplicate stating it has been recieved and read.  There's no arguing whether they received it or not by doing that.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson about high pressure sales techniques and storm chasers looking for a quick buck.  Some people find out a much harder way.  While these guys may be legitimate you should always do your homework on a contractor before signing the contract.  Unless you have water running out of the house and the work has to be done on the spot it's not so much of an emergency that it can't wait until the next day.

Insurance Agent reviews in Banks

My wife and I were sent to this agency for a "courtesy stamp" about a week ago. They were far from courteous. I walked into the agency and told the woman behind the desk that my insurance agency had made arrangements with a woman named
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
for us to get a courtesy stamp. She told us to have a seat and she'd get her. As we're sitting their we hear what sounds like an extremely frustrated young woman telling this woman that
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
is at lunch and she guesses she'll have to take care of it. This young blonde woman comes out, doesn't even
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
my husband or I and pretty rips the papers out of my hand. She then stormed away and we heard her yelling from her office that she couldn't find the paper work, which was in perfect order a minute before when she ripped it out of my hand. She finally managed to find it and stamp it. Then stormed back out of her office again not making eye contact or acknowledging my husband or I in any way and throws the papers down on the front desk. The woman behind the desk asks her, not us, quite rudely do they know they have to pay? The young blonde woman then looked at us like we were couple of pieces of s*** under her shoe, rolled her eyes and stormed away. The woman behind the desk then rudely said to us ya know you have to pay for this. I said yes I know it's $ 25.00 right? She took my money with out another word to either of us.
Customer Service Is Apparently Not Really Their Thing!!!
- Brian L.

I recently got married and decided to start fresh with all out insurance needs and contacted the
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
because of the positive reviews here. I was not disappointed! He saved us 100s over what we were paying and even though the homeowners was about the same amount of money, the coverage was much, much better and with a lower deductible as well. All communications were very friendly and inquires promptly responded to. Overall a great experience involving something most people dread dealing with.

They are a rotten, unaccountable company that does not serve its customers at all! Their vendors (all of whom seem to hate working with
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Shield; I witnessed two separate plumbers begin refusing to work with them in the brief time I tried to use their service) no-show appointments, and when they do show up, AHS can ask for a second opinion, I our case from a plumber who is no longer contracting with AHS! I found them incredibly difficult to get any straight answers from. I simply could not get our maintenance issues fixed. We got no value at all from our deluxe protection, plan and are now fighting with them to cancel after just two months of useless coverage. Horrible, predatory company. Stay away! Fellow members, protect yourself and avoid at all costs!!

Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
is always very helpful. They go out of their way to help me find the most cost effective plans and provide understandable explanations.

When I first moved to Texas, I needed to switch over my auto insurance, and started working with
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
--he, along with his assistant,
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
, was extremely responsive, and the team constantly searched to find me the best insurance at the most reasonable prices. There aren't many insurance agents who will continue looking for cheaper options even after you've agreed to purchase a policy through them, but
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
is that kind of guy. Long story short, since my initial work back in 2008, I have moved from Dallas to Houston, gotten married, purchased a home, and had a child, and every step of the way, I have worked with
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
. They will always be my first call for insurance, and I know I can trust that they're getting me a fair rate. Customer service is outstanding: I've never had to wait more than an hour to hear back from
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
regarding a question, and all my requests have always been handled the same day they are made. Their orices vary, but have always been reasonable.
- Ty D.

In more than 15 years with
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
, I had three claims. One was a major burglary, and the other two were auto accidents. In the burglary my home sustained major damage, and the insurance response to that was excellent. Their contractor came in and quickly addressed the damage to my satisfaction. In the burglary, thousands of dollars of items were stolen and never recovered. I had to fight tooth and nail with State Farms Claims agents for every dollar on every item that was stolen. Every time I would submit information substantiating the value of what was stolen, they would propose replacing it with something of half the value. Given how traumatic the burglary itself was, the way they handled this claim was a nightmare for me. I felt just as traumatized by their byzantine process, and their rotating team of impersonal claims officers as I was by being robbed.
A few years later, a few days after my father died, I backed into a post, which put my first at fault accident on my record. Almost three years later, a bizarre accident occurred in eastern
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
, in which I was hit from behind by a pickup, and
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
agreed with the other driver's insurer that I was at fault. There was an obscure
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
court decision they said, which they could not argue against. Okay. Then, on the very last day in which I had two accidents on my record, they cancelled my insurance, thus forcing me to obtain new insurance with two accidents still on my record within three years. This drove my annual premium up by 200%. They could not have penalized me more for my 15 years of loyalty to their company. Needless to say, I'd never go back.
My agent,
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
, never lifted a finger on my behalf, nor even expressed sympathy during these incidents.
- Neil B.

It went great.
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
roadside came to my house to jump start my car when the weather was way below zero. They even brought a new battery in case I needed a new one. They also did a diagnostic test on my battery to see if i needed a new one. I did not need a new battery at this time. When I called for the service I was asked if I was safe. That made me feel very comfortable and safe by asking this question. Later that day I was at a friends home and he got his truck stuck in the ditch off of his driveway. They came out and towed his truck out in a timely manner. For my one year membership of only $52 I feel like I have a great security blanket for if I was brokedown, had a flat tire, lock my keys in the car or run out of gas. Thank you
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
for such a great service at a great price.

I was looking for home insurance before closing on my new home.
Banks Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Hristova went above and beyond to ensure I received the possible quote and ensured to follow up daily until my closing. She was courteous, professional and provided detailed information of the coverage.
I've contacted another three insurance brokers but I'm still waiting for the answers. I guess that's their loss because I'm insuring all my properties through
