BEWARE !!!!!

This is for all my friends in the
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
area. They say foolish people get what they deserve (in fact I think I have said that). So, I deserve what I got but wanted you to be aware. The picture is hard to read. It is an invoice from
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
. I had them come today to 1. replace the flushing assembly in one of my toilets, 2. Fix the bathroom fan. Their person, a

kid who looked about 18, arrived at 9:05AM and left at 10:20AM. The actual time working was 45 minutes. He 1). replaced the flusing assembly with a kit I bought at Lowes but said he had to use a part he brought (the plastic thing that goes up and down as the water rises - you can find them at Lowes for under $20). 2). Looked at the fan and told me it couldn't be fixed. I would need a new one.
Cost:
1. Replace "flusher assembly" - $332.28
2. Looked at bathroom fan for 5 minutes - $79.95
TOTAL - $412.73
Again, I deserve what I got. I didn't ask for an estimate because his Facebook site was recommended by one of my friends and I saw several church members names who had "liked" his page when I went there. So I learned my lesson. But wanted anyone who was thinking of doing business with this guy, this is what kind of business he runs.
PS: I did some googling and the most expensive estimate I could find for doing this was $150 by a qualified plumber.

Was not pleased with
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's inability to support their $247 fee (after a ?? discount from $270) for a 5-minute replacement time for a $75 (maximum cost) part. I took the time to visit their office in
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
to see if I could get any answers.
I've been on
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
's annual service plan since June 2005 for what has been my rental property for the past 4.5 years. I met them at the house during their semi-annual service visit and was told that the run capacitor needed replacing. I was there, so I know how long it took to replace. I had a previous estimate (from
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
) for the same replacement from late December 2010 that stated a cost of $67 ($79 minus the service plan 15% discount). So the initial fee has increased from $79 to $270 for what reason??
I drove to their office to get some answers and spoke to one of their managers. I gave him the bill and asked if he saw anything wrong with it. He responded "No - everything looks correct." I asked him why the prices increased so much over the past 2-3 years (from $79 to $270). He responded "I'm not sure, maybe it's now out of warranty.", which makes no sense to me.
I also asked him how a 5-minute installation, while on a schedule service visit, of a $75 (at most) part could possible cost $247. He responded with "Insurance costs, etc...I wouldn't expect you to understand because you're not in the business."
I thoroughly understand labor rates, multipliers, overhead, cost of capital, profit fees, etc., so I was looking for some hard numbers to support their escalated fee for this
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
task. I wouldn't mind paying for their marked up part cost (minus the 15% discount) plus 15 extra minutes of labor fee (about $100/hr = $25) for a total of around $92 - a difference of $155! I understand that businesses need to make a profit, but back your fees with transparent numbers.
The manager's attitude was that he basically didn't care whether I liked the price or not - that's just what they charge. I told him that I would not use them again and said that I would spread the word...he said "Okay...go ahead."
The service industry is steadily getting worse; whether it's insurance, lawn service, HVAC, medical, etc. and I'm getting tired of accepting it. I'd like to help raise the standards for consumers and hold these professional service providers accountable for their poor services.

Drain and backing up. Called Roto Rooter, who sent
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
. He arrived punctually, asked me for details of the problem and went right to work. Took several hours and he consulted with his manager about how to handle problems. Thankfully, he persisted and solved the problem.

Usual great service. Clean and professional. Would trust them with the key to the house if needed.
I appreciate that they offer home-owner solutions before committing to do a job (e.g., frozen hot water pipe). And have a good network of other tradesmen for different jobs.

Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
was referred to me by my cousin who is also a plumber. I called
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
in the evening because I had done a few loads of laundry and discovered that the water from the washing machine was coming up through the downstairs toilet! By the time I saw what was happening, the downstairs bathroom, family room, and laundry room were all flooded with toilet water.
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
came over early the next morning and began what turned out to be a back-breaking job. However, he stuck by the quote that he had originally given me, even though the work ended up being a lot harder than expected!
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
snaked the pipes and removed Lysol wipes--from several years ago--that were clogging the pipes because they had been flushed and had never disintegrated one bit! Therefore, I learned a lesson about flushing Lysol wipes the hard way, but
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
was honest and pleasant, and he made a stressful situation far less stressful.

We were getting water in the basement even though our sump pump was running.

The technician verified, to my relief, that roots had not invaded my gutter/downspouts underground drain pipe. However, pine
Aumsville Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
were clogging it (my house is surrounded by evergreens). The tech cleared out the

, needles, and other debris and then recommended an inexpensive way to prevent the clogging in the future: downspout strainers, available at Lowe's or Home Depot, which cost about $2.50 each and are easily installed at the opening of each downspout where the downspout attaches to the gutter.
The tech charged the minimum quoted, even though he spent more than the minimum amount of time to be sure the snake job and flushing were thoroughly completed. ( I was available to assist in the flushing procedure, cutting down on the tech's time.)

I called with my issue, a slow draining tub, and not only got same day service (on a Friday afternoon) but the problem was solved within two hours. The technician,

, was informative and gave me advice on a couple of other issues as well. I would use this company again.

Representative was very pleasant, clean and professional. My only reason for downgrading from an 'A' rating is that I paid with the "Angie's" deal of $50 what my earlier plumber would have cost. My 'project' was very minor & quick in reality.
Bottom line: $70 + ($50 "Angie deal") was NO DEAL in my estimation.

Performed a very professional service at a best-in-class rate.
Was prompt and communicated well before and during the work.
Added benefit of giving advice on fixturing if we wanted to make a change or two in the plumbing to improve performance in our home. We really appreciated that.
