"The salesman was prompt, efficient and gracious. We were not living in the house during the project but occasional visits allowed us to see that all was going on schedule. The house" was locked up each day and kept neat throughout the process, with no damage. There was minimal dust on the window sills etc. We moved into the house two weeks after completion. It took about a month in total for the fumes from the coating to dissipate so that windows could be closed. Fortunately we had warm fall weather. Also, we were cautioned to restrict the use of rugs and avoid sliding furniture across the floors for up to 90 days to avoid scratching the surface before it was fully cured. The company left detailed instructions on floor care/cleaning along with equipment (Cleaning solution and an adjustable aluminum mop handle with washable microfiber cleaning pads). The floors are like new....visitors assume they were replaced! I would not hesitate to refer
or ask them back.

"The stairs was remodelled quite good considering that they just accepted a crappy job from our previous contractor. But they did such an appauling job on my bathrooms. The tiles were" uneven, redid few times but still uneven. They never finish my master bathroom. They kept telling me that they will come back for it but never did. They messed up my bathroom tiles that i have to purchase new set of tiles twice!! They are nice people but such lousy contractors.

Hardwood Flooring

There are few home improvement choices that add as much character and warmth — not to mention resale value — as hardwood flooring. But before hiring a flooring contractor to install or repair hardwood flooring, it’s important to know both its advantages and disadvantages.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

saved my floors. They were wrecked by another company, so I hired
Ashland Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
to refinish the floors from scratch. The final result was phenomenal and I was so relieved that the train wreck was over with. In this line of work you get what you pay for so I will not argue with the price because the quality of the floors couldn't be better. I was very thankful on how punctual they were and they even fit around my schedule to have it done in three days. If anyone is considering hiring
Ashland Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
, I highly recommend them.

This is the second time I've hired
Ashland Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
and with my first experience, they did a fantastic job. They were responsive, professional, respectful, and curtious. The attention to detail was remarkable.
The most significant aspect of the job was the painting. We had 4 bedrooms, a hallway, 7 interior doors, 4 closet doors, a stairway and an entryway repainted.

spent a good two weeks sanding, pathching nail holes, patching staple

(the stairs had been previously carpeted and were riddled with staple holes), and prepping the walls. The prep work is always the most difficult part of painting and

didn't cut any corners. I've hired other painters in the past and not one spent as much time prepping/fixing then

. The finished product is fantastic! The walls, the doors, the trim, the STAIRS look amazing.
In the 3 plus weeks, they were in our home; they were always on time, cleaned up their supplies every day, vaccuumed their mess and were very polite.

was not the cheapest bid we had, but his price was well in line with other providers. What set Rich apart was his genuine enthusiasm and passion for his work. He was always responsive to texts and emails and when he was going to be late, he kept us informed. The work he did was nothing short of fantastic. Our floors were a mix of pine and oak, with deep stains and cracks. It looks like we bought brand new flooring throughout the whole house. Wow.

Was working with an abbreviated timeline as I wanted to surprise my wife with new hardwoods when she got back from a work trip. i allowed

The flooring is beautiful. Installation was seamless - no problems whatsoever. Had easy discussions regarding my wants and needs with the crew. Meticulous attention to detail. Will definitely use CMS services in the future.

I called to arrange a visit to give an estimate for doing all floors in our renovation project. I left a message with a brief description, including all contact information. No one returned our call.

I think it went very well. We are moving soon and didn't want to invest in a complete floor re-do, but needed to do some repairs to the wood and clear coat the entire surface area. It included the entryway, foyer, half bath, kitchen, eating area and another hallway. Due to where the work was performed, we had to stay off for 24 hours on the last day of the work (it took 3 days), so be prepared to accommodate your life. We ended up going away for the weekend b/c the smell of the clear coat was very strong and lingering, but there is no way around that. Our floors have a "natural" finish, so there was no need to stain. Be sure to read the fine print of what is included with the coupon before buying. Since we had not ever had the floors worked on, I wasn't aware of the specific terms used in the coupon. It was only after paying the initial $269, I found out buffing was not the same as sanding. Ed

(owner) came out and looked at what we had going on and I knew there would be extra charges for the repairs as well as our floor surface was larger than what the coupon special included. The two men he sent to perform the work were very nice and took extra care to move the fridge properly in order to adequately repair the water damage. I am pleased with how it all turned out.
