"Good initial visit, patient with some of my dithering over what I wanted done, laid out options well including setting expectations for what could be achieved for" various prices. Did have to slightly delay from original dates, but communicated well. Came back when there was some blotchiness, prob due to underlying issue with floor and redid the area. Competitive prices, glad to have used them.

"Excellent. I am very pleased with
and his team. They arrived on time and actually finished the job one day earlier than quoted.
" was very honest and charged me less because of the type of product he used and because the job was completed in one day. The floors are beautiful; I should have had this done a long time ago. Be aware that there is a little bit of dust, so plan accordingly and cover up. If I ever need to do floors again, I'll be calling

Hardwood Flooring

There are few home improvement choices that add as much character and warmth — not to mention resale value — as hardwood flooring. But before hiring a flooring contractor to install or repair hardwood flooring, it’s important to know both its advantages and disadvantages.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.

Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

The floors came out beautifully and the company went above and beyond their scope of work by fixing a leveling problem from room to room at no extra cost. We are totally happy with their work.

They worked patiently in the process of choosing a color and finish (we chose a low

satin--love it!). They did the work while we were away on vacation and kept in touch just to the degree that was necessary. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and professional. I would consider their process basically dust-free, though they so not make that claim.

This letter is to relay an experience that I had with
Ashland Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
and Restoration. I hope to prevent other people from experiencing the hardship that we endured with this company. Will
Ashland Wood Flooring Experts Provider Name Locked
came to our home and was one of several bids. He advised that he would be able to sand our floors and match the new floors in the new construction area.
On the day of installation, after floors had been pulled up to be woven in with the new floors, he came to me and my contractor and indicated that all floors were too worn and would have to be replaced. After quite a shock and significant expense, we agreed to replace all floors as he advised. We asked him at the time if it was okay to install the floors prior to work being completed by multiple contractors in the house. He and my contractor advised that this was done all the time. He would cover the floors and at the time of sanding any scratches or imperfections would be removed. We agreed to go ahead and install and when it came time to sand and finish the floors in early October, The house had had several leaks. Will came in and advised that the floors were too far gone and $8,000 worth of hardwood would have to be ripped up and re-installed. My contractor agreed to pay for the wood and rip up the floors. He did so and Will purchased and brought the new wood to our home to acclimate in the living room. Will was well aware that we were ready to move into the home at that time and this was a major setback. He told us that the floors needed to dry for 2 to 3 weeks before he could reinstall. After the 2 to 3 weeks, on the day that the floors were supposed to be reinstalled, Will showed up and advised that his installers indicated that all the floors in the entire downstairs now needed to be ripped up and that he was not sure when he could reinstall them. He said that the floors had shifted and they would no longer be able to be used. When I asked him to give me a date of installation if my contractor ripped up the floors he said he couldn't say. Later that afternoon he contacted my contractor and told him that he would not do the job even if the floors were ripped up. He did this after he looked me in the eye that morning and said he would take care of us.

Hardwood Floors came in and saved the day for us. They told us that by no means did the floors downstairs need to be ripped up and that they would take over the job. They have and the floors are beautiful. I would advise anyone who plans to use

in the future to think twice and find another floor company.

We really enjoyed working with this company. Even our kids got excited whenever their installers would come work because they were so polite. My son was so interested in what was going on that they pretended he was "helping out" by giving him some samples to play with. It was great. And when all was complete and done they left the place spotless and even gave us a cleaning kit and educated us what we could do to maintain our floors longer. Just all around wonderful people and experience.

This company is a SCAM. First, the owner pushed h****** taking cash or check (should have been a warning sign). Told me everyday for eight days that they "would be there tomorrow"...never showed up. When the owner finally came with the material I paid for, not only was it the WRONG material, but it was only a PORTION of what I paid for. I posted a bad review of the company on Yelp, owner called me within 20 minutes of posting (fasted he got in contact with me since taking my money), and said he would refund me my money if I took down my review (so I did)...that was over one week ago. Twice in the last week he told me he would be at my house to pick up the material which was wrong, and refund me...twice he didn't show. This owner is a CON ARTIST, and the company is BS! Took my money, did not provide the material I paid for, will not refund my money. I am reporting this company to the BBB.

I picked them because they had good reviews. We got quotes from another contractor but this company came lower on the bid. The floor is beautiful! When they put the stain on the first time, it wasn’t really saturated enough. We talked to them about it, so they went back and re-stained it and applied polyurethane. They turned out beautiful and we are very pleased.
