"The windows (34) of them were ordered before we went on vacation so that they could be installed before the siding . The insulation that they used was the standard" tri-fold 1/4 inch. It was taped at the joints, but is not the best way to insulate an old house. This is not what I wanted to do, but was convinced that this would be just as good, with out taking off the old cedar shingles. If I was going to do this again, I would have taken off the old siding, and had blowing insulation installed in the walls. In two rooms, the old windows were removed and new windows were installed. The first room, an upstairs bedroom, the windows fewer miss measured based on two windows of the room. The other six windows were 62 inches long, not 56 inches, which would require that the six windows have to be re ordered. Another delay that we did not want to happen, so the decision was made to take out the sill and re frame in the windows. Well, their framing would not meet any building code that I know of, but the windows were installed. Again, the frames are not square, and the interior side of the windows had gaps of a 1/2 an inch to an inch across the top of the window. This was just covered up and caulked to fill in the wholes. Will have to be taken out an corrected next summer, so that the actual frames can be made for each window. To make this a great job, the contractor would have to show up by eight in the morning, and work for eight hours a day, instead, they averaged only five hours a day in good weather, as fall came and went, the time spent on the job also went down. By the end of this project, it was luck if they worked one day a week in actual hours. This was the longest six months, and the work is still not completed. If I would do this over, I would put into the contracts deadline date, where for each day over, they start paying me a percentage. This gives them an incentive to get it done, and peace of mind that it will get done on time. Other wise, they can just string you along as it takes, and your stuck with a bad contractor. When we got into the end of October, we asked for someone to come over and finish the project, but he told us no one wanted to do it. It was just too much cutting and too many

"The morning of the original day of service, the temp was in the 20's. Provider was to be here at 8:00 am. I called at 8:15, to see if it was too cold. No answer." I called again at 9:45, no answer. Then
called me 5 min later to reschedule to the next day, 8 am. The next day.
called at 8:10 to ask for the address because " the office had given him the wrong address". Once at the correct location, I found
and his assistant to be very efficient. My biggest issue was the no heads up call on the first day.

Finish carpenters can design, build and install woodwork structures in your house to enhance the quality and adorn the attractive appearance of your home. There carpenters can complete several different jobs for new homes or remodeling of an existing house.

Baseboards and molding

Baseboards and molding serve a practical function -- covering up the space where walls and floors join, as well as protecting the wall from scuffs and dents. But they also provide a decorating opportunity.

You need a general contractor - prefereably one who specializes in additions, because you have excavation, waterproofing, concrete, concrete cutting, carpentry, door and window, etc trades to coordinate.

The cost will depend a great deal on your topography around the house - if the base of the window will be above ground level at least 6 inches, then could run about $500 for a legal egress window purchase and about $1000-2000 for installation, depending on how deep into the concrete you have to cut.

If the bottom of the window will be below ground level, then to call it a bedroom (which mandates legal sized second egress and usauully at least one window)  then you will have two choices - bring it out into a solid watertight concrete storm cellar with collar to keep water out, stairs, and and weather and bug-tight cellar door that is inward-opening, which means a lot of space for stairs and landings top and bottom, or bring it out into an oversized window well at least 36 inches in diameter, and with steps to ground level, with adequate drainage and waterproofing to keep it dry. Either way, sometimes about as easy to put in an outside door as a window, and might raise property value more. Cost from $2-5,000 depending on how deep into concrete wall you have to dig, whether concrete wsall needs reinforcing with steel frame because of the depth of cut, how easy the digging is, and what your water conditions are near the foundation. The last thing you want to do is create an easy water or vermin ingress with your egress.

Dictated by Federal LAW , you will need a Licensed and EPA Certified HVAC Contractor

to make such repairs . In fact , by law , ONLY A licenesed HVAC contractor can buy or install

said eguipment , NOT A handyman nor general contractor !

YES , You should have an A.C. sleeve surrounding the through the wall unit . These sleeves will usually accompany NEW products , either as a package or an add on equipment purchase.

Contact a Licenesed PROFFESSIONAL at once !

It depends on what type of ramp you need. If it is built out of wood you could look for a carpenter or a deck company. If you are looking for a concrete ramp a mason would be what you are looking for. There are also metal ramps and I believe some medical supply companies may carry them or be able to steer you in the right direction. As for insurance coverage I am not sure. You may have coverage and would be best talking to your agent. Depending on why you need this ramp there may even be programs through your local government or even some of the local charities might help. It might be a project a local Scout Troop might help out on.

Woodworking reviews in Mcalester

I called Monday,
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
responded not long after the initial call to schedule time the same day to take a look at the issue with our subfloor.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
provided a ball-park estimate and later that same day provided documentation. He had availability the very next morning.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
arrived on time and did terrific work throughout the job.
It was a pleasure working with him and I highly recommend this service.

Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was prompt in his reply to our initial inquiry and
accommodated us by being available in the evenings and weekends. His professional
and inclusive portfolio was a comprehensive representation of his expertise.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
through the Christmas/New Year holiday to facilitate completion of the work.
We had a miss communication regarding the baseboards.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
came to
our home in the evening, after the job was complete, in a timely manner to
discuss. He graciously made adjustments to the job the next day and only
charged us for the material, not the extra labor (for which we were grateful).
He independently communicated with our other contractors to coordinate work schedules,
which was a great relief to us.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
kindly kept in touch with our
painter so as to go the extra mile of putting knobs on the new built-in cabinet
doors. The finished project is more beautiful than I envisioned it to be!

returned my call promptly and came to my house to give me an estimate to replace crown molding in my dining room. He recommended also re-doing the box molding below the chair rail as his opinion was that the existing design was not right for the space. He also offered a solution to remedy an eyesore shelf on an angled wall in the room suggesting that we add some chair rail to match what was already there. His estimate seemed very reasonable so we hired him without getting other estimates.
Although it was several weeks before he could start the work, he was always prompt, polite and professional. We ran into one glitch with obtaining some chair rail to match the existing molding. However, Guy enthusiastically promised to come back to install it when I get it matched. He also caulked all of the baseboards in the room.
All said, the finished product is lovely--his suggestions improved the whole look of the room and made it much more consistent with the style of the rest of the house (Mt. Pleasant townhouse). I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him to friends.

Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and his team were highly professional and dependable through the whole design and construction process. I would recommend Habitar/Stratagem to anyone doing home remodeling. They were flexible to meet our needs, including: recommending an alternative, less expensive way to redo the utility area when our project was over budget; using a formaldehyde-free MDF for shelving due to my health/environmental concerns; were amiable about us using another tiler for the floor; and stayed late to finish the job prior to my daughter's birthday party. It was a positive experience and our room is beautiful!
- Jamie D.

After about a week I emailed to ask what the status of the estimate was because I needed to plan around tenants. I said I could wait for
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
to start the job if they were busy. It is a good sign when a company is busy and I got good feedback from people who had used their services in the past. Waited another week and then called to explain again that I did not mind waiting that
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was my first choice but I needed to know if wanted the job. Sent another email on May 28th asking if they wanted the job. Never got any response. By then I had missed my opportunity to do the job that year because of rental lease. No big deal.
Tried again on email Feb 5, 2015. Told them I had not done the job yet and they were always my first choice. Followed with a phone call to
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
explaining that I really wanted them to do the job. Was told that Antoon would call me back. Waited another week. Emailed Feb 12 that I thought it was rude to not respond at all and that I would blog about my experiences. Finally got a response after 9 months: My apologies for the slow response to your e-mail.Regretfully we will not be able to take on your project. Best, Antoon Schollee,
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked

Would have waited for them even if it took a year if I knew they wanted the job. But, after so many months they could have at least said why. I would have accepted any response, if the job was too big, they were too busy, even that they simply did not want the job. I expected it to cost $30-50,000, the lack of communication is just weird. What a waste of my time.

Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and his brother
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
did the most beautiful, complex, and professional work for a subcontractor that I had ever seen in my 20 years as an architect. They were honest, fair, respectful, and finished in the timeframe that we agreed upon. The original pricing was for installation only with an alternate for finishing because the existing Fir floors were to be repaired and finished by another contractor and it made sense at the time for the flooring contractor to do all the finishing at the same time. Because of the dark "rootbeer" stain that I had selected for the flooring, and doing color samples of the same dark color on the maple plywood, it was clear to me that I had to go with a built-up clear finish on the stars and I felt that
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
would do a better job because he had built the stairs and would more sensitive about the final product. I had called
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
a number of months later to do the finishing work, He said he was incredibly busy but he went out of his way to fit me in and stuck to his original price.
In the end, his company produced a beautiful product with all the idealistic expectations that one would hope for in a contractor.
I would and have referred him to other contractors and homeowners.
- Matthew L S.

The flooring is beautiful and was skillfully and efficiently installed. Very, very professional. All of the various projects were skillfully completed and on time.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and his partner are very friendly and very respectful of our home, cleaning up after themselves as they worked. They are great at communicating what needed to be done, status reports and next steps.
We will hire them again for our next list of projects.

Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was our hero. We began this process with a flooring installer who said that his team did staircase remodels as well. And indeed they do, but with terrible craftsmanship. I won't get into the details, but things went from bad to worse with the flooring installer. We called
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
in to save the day. He did most of the work himself, with some help from a team of specialty stainers. My husband is a perfectionist with an eye for detail - which doesn't make him the easiest client.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
's excellent craftsmanship, good communication and integrity won my husband over, in spades. (I might add that
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
is a veteran AND a former Eagle Scout.) Today we have a gorgeous staircase that wins rave reviews from our friends. It has transformed the space.
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
's pricing isn't cheap, but it is fair.... and well worth the expense. We have done a number of renovations and they continue, and I can say in complete sincerity that
Mcalester Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was a breath of fresh air for us within a stressful process. He was professional, enjoyable and most importantly, highly skilled.
