"She came prepared, on time at the site, with color swatches and ideas for our upcoming apartment renovation project. The property was built in late 1980's," had never been updated and was old & tired looking. Her ideas were valuable and fresh. She was
and honest in her assessment of the best places to put the rehab dollars for the greatest impact, what things were unnecessary, what things would stand the test of time vs. being trendy, and what things needed to be added. Very professional, very creative, and excellent sense of space, color and cost.

"I sent a message through Angie's List email link and within a few hours
had responded with her availability to meet me at our brand" new house. We made plans to meet on Monday after work and as planned,
showed up on time with her binders of colors and her large color boards (which were perfect for placing around the house to get a sense of what the color would actually look like) Once inside, she asked me about my style, color preferences and ideas for the house and then we got to work. Within one hour she had picked the perfect colors, offered advice on painting both sides of the front door black (which I would never have thought of), suggested painting the ugly old bathroom cabinets black to give them some "life" and to paint the mantle black (which also, would never have crossed my mind). To date, my house is painted in the EXACT colors she picked out for each room and I have NEVER been more proud of a house and I've owned 6. It looks amazing, warm, fresh and inviting - just like I envisioned. Actually even better than I envisioned to be honest. I went into this task stressed beyond measure and the minute
arrived at our house on that Monday - I just knew it was all going to work out fine. She is calm, precise, honest, fast, professional, FUNNY and fun to work with. Now, being on the other side of the project and seeing all the colors together, I can say the paint colors are absolutely perfect. Thank you
. You are a master at your art and I appreciate that you share it so willingly and at such a reasonable cost!

I know you said you didn't want a realtor but I do know someone who is good.  Her name is Pam Hunt and she is with William E. Wood.

Otherwise I would check out interior designers.  They could make suggestions and outline some finer details that could help you stage your home.

In the meantime start packing away those personal momentos and pictures.  Clear and clean the walls.  Go with a neutral paint color throughout the house.  Oyster by Behr is a classic.  Start getting rid of clutter.  If you haven't worn it in 3 years or used it in 5....pitch it.  Depending on how long you have lived in your home the accumulation of "things" could be tremendous. Donate your unwanted and unused to a thrift store.  It is tax deductible. Get appliances off the counters in the kitchen.  Buyers want to imagine "their" things sitting there.  Get rid of heavy drapes and go with  sheers consistent throughout the house.  Make rooms look larger by chucking some furniture.  Sell it or put it in storage until you have moved.  How is the floor?   Carpet removed may reveal beautiful hardwoods that are in high demand right now.  Pets?  Get someone to come give you the "sniff" test.  We grow acustomed to the smell of our house and might not recognize pet stinkies. Make everything shine by cleaning thoroughly, and let in the light.  Bright rooms are inviting.  Dark rooms are depressing. These things will give you a head start and clear your mind for some good ides.  Good luck with your interior designer.

I have lost count of how many kitchens I have remodeled and I prefer Brushed Stainless Steel sinks. Polished will show scratched more  and with the brushed finish if you wipe with the grain with a milld scrub pad and an old time product called Bar Keepers Friend the look good almost forever. If you have any concerns about scratches in the bottom you can use a grid when needed, most sink manufacturers make them for their sinks. You say you have stains in a solid surface siink and it is probably the older generation. The newer ones have a high stone content to the mix and are less prone to this but I still prefer stainless.

Unclutterer had a post about this a few months back. While I didn't use the photo gallery method she suggested, I did check out the comments to find some other interesting solutions: http://unclutterer.com/2011/04/04/easily-hang-an-organized-photo-gallery-with-the-perfectpicturewall/

It's going well. I haven't made a decision to hire him yet, but I did enjoy the benefit of the consultation. He's aggressive, which is a good thing. He's organized and stays on top of things. He's definitely an intelligent guy and he has stayed in contact with me. He's very responsive and hard working. Once the snow is gone, we'll see what actually materializes.

I'm clicking my heels with the job!! She's unbelievable with what she did. He expertise is beyond the best!! She does every thing she says she will do. She doesn't make any idle statements and not follow through. She has an excellent team of 8 women. I cant praise them enough

was on time. Very friendly. Super knowledgeable. His Advice was helpful. The 3D computer images of my bathroom were interesting. In the end however I just wished I had put the $99 towards my renovation. Although the advice was helpful I probably could of gotten the same advice from a contractor at no charge. Maybe I didn't ask the right questions since this is my first real renovation experience and I understand that to have someone come to your home, takes time and money.

Organized tile work and designs for the wall/floor. Brought samples of drapes for us to consider and found a

was very friendly and we were very comfortable with her appraisal of our living space. We went over our concerns with
Hominy Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
and she started giving us ideas on what we could do right away. I would say
Hominy Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
's focus was comfort and elegance exactly what I'm looking for.
Our concerns were how to make our space more functional, we have a high ceiling an an open floor plan which is challenging for us to figure out.
1) Aesthetics:
Hominy Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
focused on how to make the space aesthetically pleasing and laid out clearly what we can and what we cannot attempt on the space available. One discussion we got into details on were how to place our audio system, this was very challenging for us but
Hominy Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
gave us some ideas to think about.
2) Potential:
Hominy Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
elaborated on the spaces which had potential in terms of built ins. She gave us some design ideas to optimize the living space.
3) Furniture pieces & accessories:
Hominy Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
measured the space and told us what types of furniture would work and the sizing that would be attractive and how to brighten up and fill out spaces. The most useful suggestions were on how to improve our entry way and storage on the ground level. Some good to haves were also discussed in terms of built ins which would improve the use of our ground level.
What you can expect:
A honest appraisal of what works for you and what can be improved. A good estimate of how much the improvements might cost.
Some easy wins which you would be excited to implement. Definitely some unthought of ideas which would make the space cozy and comfortable.

They were overpriced. I talked to the supervisor because I was charged for things that I should have been charged for. The things that they recommended were nice. The designer went on maternity leave and I was charged more than $500 for them to transfer my design plan to a new designer. When the window treatments were installed, the designer had to be there. All she did was watch. I was charged for that and later she told me that she didn't have time and I didn't request for her to be there. They charge by the hour. I would never recommend them.

I have never felt in better hands.
Hominy Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
has impeccable taste, and a eye for perfection. All of the sub contractors that he used had to live up to these standards, and I never had to worry about a thing. He made it clear that he was there for the entire process, and I am grateful that he was. His warmth and personality had me laughing the entire time! I can't recommend him highly enough...I wish that there was an A+!
