Moving Reviews in Edmond

When I originally scheduled my move with the call center we went room by room and discussed how much furniture and stuff in general. We have A LOT of stuff and I relayed that information to the rep so he said he would schedule 3 guys and a 24 foot truck and it would take 3-4 hours and priced accordingly. I got a call before the move and confirmed the amount of stuff I had and added the storage said and was told it wouldn't be a problem.
The day of the move
and Dallas show up (at 6:50) with a small truck and are shocked by the amount of stuff we had. I immediately called
and told him how upset I was that they were not able to move all of my stuff in one trip because it was going to take more than 3-4 hours. He told me that I had a 1265 square foot home and that the small truck should be able handle it just fine. I told him that
was at my house and had just finished telling us that it wasn't going to work. So they all stood around making calls trying to find an extra guy or a larger truck and no such luck.
kept telling me he would do whatever to make me happy.
Then the loading began (7:30am). By 12:30pm we had moved 2 mini-van loads, my husband's truck, and the moving truck. We took a break for lunch which we provided for the guys. I left at 2:30pm in the middle of the truck being unloaded to go back to my old home for a walk through with the person buying the home. The guys and my husband had told me how well they had packed up the truck and it wouldn't take much to move the rest of the stuff with our personal vehicles and they were going to move the storage shed as soon as they emptied the truck. When I showed up at the home I was angry. The amount of stuff left could have easily of filled up the truck half way (ended up taking 9 loads in personal vehicles and were moving until 3am). By that time it was too late to make the guys come back because they had another job to go to. At 4pm they finished at the home in
and moved on to the next job.
Some of the reasons I think all of this happened the way it did was 1, it was not the company's fault that the call center did not inform them that I had to have a larger truck. 2, I should have been very clear when I left them (husband included) at 10:30am that they had to make a second trip and load up the old house. 3,
and Dallas actually made the moving experience very enjoyable we had fun laughing, telling stories, and joking around (REALLY great guys).
Next time I will be VERY clear with my expectations and crack the whip a little more. Moving is just not very fun, but I don't think it was unrealistic to expect it would take them less than 8 hours to move what they moved.

This company has to be the most unprofessional I have ever dealt with. All of my previous moves have been completed by the military contractors ( I am a disabled veteran), so this was the first time I ever had to hire a moving company myself.
Now to the move. The guy over the phone told me the job should take no longer than five hours since there were only four rooms left to pack. We agreed on that and that it would cost around $800 IF they used their materials.
The movers showed up late to begin with, they did not have enough materials to complete the job, constantly took smoke breaks when I had to leave to get the materials they did not plan ahead for to do the job, and it took them over twelve (12 hours) to complete the job. Well, the manager and another guy came to replace the first two guys.
That is not even the worst of what happened. A five year old, my five year, knows you cannot stack certain things on top of others. You need to build a good foundation or base to start. Unfortunately, these guys (the first two) could not grasp this very
concept. I had to explain to them on at least five (5) separate occasions that you cannot stack an extra large box on top of a small crate on top of a lawn mover and throw a laundry basket on that. If that sounds crazy, well it is, and that is not even the worst of how they packed the 26 foot truck. The manager and next guy had to unpack two-thirds (2/3) of the truck just to get it half way decent.
Most of my boxes were ruined because of their gross incompetence and laziness. I do have both pictures and video that show their work and lack of professionalism.
So, I contacted the owner and he constantly offered excuses.
Even after the move I found more issues. One of the guys punctured the box spring of my Tempurpedic mattress. When I called the owner he tried to explain to me why it must have been my fault, then told me the manager would contact me. Of course that never happened.
Would I recommend them to you? Not even if you were my worst enemy. Not even if they were going to move you for free. Not even if they were the very last people available to move you. If you value your things look elsewhere. It is not worth it to take a
with these guys. They will give you nothing but excuses then expect all of their money. And no, I did not pay them for over 12 (twelve) hours of lollygagging. I paid them for the five (5) we agreed on. Now, had I used their truck instead of renting my own, they would have held my possessions hostage until I paid them their ransom.
Look elsewhere.

Packers were prompt on day before move. Driver was early. They did a good job and were early in
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
. Were a bit rushed there, so everything at the end got thrown into garage (we agreed). The only thing that wasn't right was they forgot to put the feet on a 350lb wine cabinet.
The only part of the experience that wasn't up to par was we had a "moving coordinator" assigned to us to help assist. She wasn't very prompt in returning calls or emails.

Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
was great to work with. Movers were clean, professional, and courteous. Even complied to my requests as to how to place the containers in the destination offsite storage. And swept up both locations. (Have been meaning to post this review for a long time :))

Never showed up. Never called. When I called them, they said they had tried to reach me (which was a lie). When I didn't respond, they cancelled the job (which, unfortunately, was not a lie). They left me with a house full of furniture that had to be moved in 24 hours. When we called other movers, they were all very familiar with
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
. According to these movers, they get 2-3 calls per week from people that
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
have left hanging. They overbook and bump people with no notice. Awesome way to run a business! Hard to believe they are still in business.

I had called six weeks in advance to arrange the move and then called twice to confirm. Their claim that they tried to reach me doesn't hold water and is a lie.

The crew of 3 arrived on time and began by moving all the upstairs furniture. They were, at the start of the day, quite swift.
However, various things went wrong.
1. A large armoire was destroyed (the footings were broken off, the connector for the top and bottom got cracked, etc.) and we ended up having to dismantle it and throw it out.
2. The wood floors in the Master bedroom were severely scraped. When I pointed it out, I was told that it was already there -- which definitely was not the case. So, they used a marker to
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
the scrapes. That helped, but they still show.
3. A leg from a coat rack was broken.
4. various pieces of furniture got scraped.
5. they taped shut a very expensive solid wood armoire and there is adhesive reside along one side that I haven't been able to get off yet.
6. they scraped the wood floors in the new house, pushing the sofa across the living room floor. I've used danish oil to help
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
the scratches.
7. they forgot about the 2 small yard storage sheds and had to return the next day for them (though a 3rd trip would have been necessary regardless given the size of their truck).
8. they began to slow down around the 4th hour and were moving at perhaps 1/2 the speed from then on. While they had a lot to move, because they slowed down, I probably had to pay for 2-3 more hours than if they kept up their original speed.
9. They brought a vehicle too small for the whole house and so had to make 3 trips.
10. They couldn't get a soft through a doorway and I was told that if the door was removed, it would fit. So, I removed the door -- and even the soft legs. But it still couldn't fit... another time waster.
11. Nearly every sofa and chair with fabric undersides got punctured or torn.
While the head mover was well experienced, and one other was fine, the third was new and his on-the-job training

to the moving taking longer.
Overall, they were not terrible and the movers were all nice guys. But I can't at all see how they could be "A" quality. They might be fine with apartment or small house moves, but I wouldn't recommend them for a large move.

The workers arrived on time and were very polite and effective. They showed up in a truck, took a quick survey of the house and then called the office because they did not have a big enough truck. The office instructed them to tell us that we would have to rent an additional truck, which they would load and unload, but which we would have to drive to Tulsa. On such short notice a truck was very difficult to find, though eventually the office found one for us after we insisted that this should be their job. We told them the size of our house in square feet before hiring them and we detailed our furniture. Not enough truck was their issue, not ours.
We ended up paying for the additional truck, driving it from the south side of OKC to our home in
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
. They did, after we requested more than once, agree to store the truck for us and drive it to Tulsa. The workers loading the truck were great, very nice and helpful. They were, however, very generous with the time they listed on our invoice. We needed up getting a refund for 1.5 hours of work after several phone calls. We would not use this company again.

The whole experience was great from my first call to the office to inquire about their services until they left after unpacking us. This is a family business that they are proud of. They came and packed us on a Thursday and moved us on a Saturday. I have used "the big names" before and these guys are just as good...if not better. We loved everyone on the crew and they were all polite and respectful. Only 1 small wooden
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
bed was broken, which I didn't think was a big deal but they took it with them and had it repaired. They made the stress of moving more bearable. The guys worked so hard I let them "make sure our

man arcade console made it ok". They deserved the break. They moved our baby grand piano without a scratch. They were over $2000 cheaper than North American by the way. I would recommend (and have) to anyone.

I had movers come and they did not move the main thing I needed moved. So, I found the "
Edmond Movers Provider Name Locked
" who arrived on time, and in an hour, with talking time, had it moved and put in the room I needed. It was a large treadmill. Definitely would use them again, but for my whole move!
