completed the job within an hour today. He reattached the hanging gutters and the down spouts. He was focused and very professional." He explained what he was going to do before he started and after he completed the job he walked me through and explained what he had done. I am very satisfied with the work and the price.

Don't let your gutters get like this! Clogged gutters can lead to roof leaks, foundation damage and rotten fascia boards.
Gutter Cleaning

Gutter cleaning is a necessary part of home maintenance, but it can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Consider the following safety tips before you clean your gutters.

Two notes #1 20 feet is going to cost you more per foot that 100 feet.  #2 All prices are relative to Your market ie Omaha is less expensive than St Lious.  Here expect to pay on the 100 foot job $5 to $6 per foot of gutter (5" aluminum) plus the $4 to $5 a foot for the downspouts and $15 to $20 for soffit and facsia covering ie vinyl soffit panels and painted or vinyl clad aluminum covering the fascia.  In the trade a soffit & fascia job.

Unless you are constructing a French Drain (dry well filled with rock or debris and no exit) style system you use a non perforated system.  Cut the plastic flush on the angle where it daylights if the slope is great enough,  If you need it river rock can be used to construct a dry riverbed type drainage ditch out from the daylighted drain.

Short answer: It's up to you. Many home remodeling contractors, including exterior remodelers, don't expect a tip since they've already provided a set price within the contract, but if you really feel that they've gone above and beyond, you may feel obliged to tip them. Angie herself answered a very simliar question in a recent column: Should I tip my remodeling contractor?

Not knowing what type of eaves (the lower edge of the roof) you had before the new soffits were intalled I have to guess what might have happened. If you had closed eves (no soffits, just rafter tails with blocking between) before as was done on some older homes it is possible they removed or drilled holes through to the attic. When this was done there should have been a baffle installed to direct the air flow up and over the insulation. This would only be possible for the soffit installer to do if the wood blocking was removed and not just had holes drilled in it. If the insulation contractor did not go all the way to the exterior wall that could very well be the cause or it he did not make sure the insulation was pushed down to make contact with the ceiling material. If the house was never cold before I would bet the problem is at the eaves. You should call the insulation company for an answer.

The ice build-up in the gutter should not, provided they are properly attached and solid, rip out the gutter.

When you get snow slides and large chunks of frozen precip that let go and slide down the roof with velocity, those are what tear off the gutters and create damage.

If you are concerned about the snow load, a snow rake and/or a proper roofer can remove some of the accumulated snow.

Some ice damming is unavoidable in the correct conditions but I would urge you to look into proper ventilation of the roof and air sealing and insulation.  This will reduce your home's inclination to form these ice dams in the future.

Gutter Cleaning reviews in Collinsville

The crew was very pleasant and professional. My husband was so pleased with the way they worked and the results that he contracted for them to come back and clean the windows. The windows were cleaned inside and out and actually sparkled. We were extremely pleased with this company and their work. We would definitely recommend them.

I think the gutter cleaning was excellent. I tried to get them again this year but I had forgotten who did the work. Once I had realized who did the work, I emailed them through Angie's List and unfortunately they didn't get back to me on time.
- Shihua L.

Overall, the service went okay. They had run a little late due to a vent getting stuck on a job right before ours but they kept us informed and weren't too late. They did a good job cleaning the vents but my issue is the sloppiness of the cleanup (the devil is always in the details as they say). They did change our furnace filter and offered to show it to me and disposed of it. After they were finished, I gave them their check and they handed me a paper to sign saying something about me inspecting the work and finding it to my satisfaction. I did do a preliminary check and everything seemed okay so I signed off on their paperwork. I assumed that from such a top-rated company I wouldn't have to get so detailed-oriented with regards to the inspection.
Later that night, I happened to notice the following:
1. A vent was not screwed in tightly and was actually sticking out about 1/8" on left side in main bath.
2. One vent was missing a screw in our downstairs bathroom.
3. A strip of drywall (3" by 1/4") was damaged when they were taking off one of the vents in our kitchen -- I didn't initially see this because of the lighting in the area where the vent is located.
4. Then, the next day, I went downstairs to our unfinished basement to put a few things away and would up moving some tupperware. When I did, I saw the two access panels they removed from the ductwork laying on the floor exactly underneath where they were cut.
My issue was that they should have noticed these things and communicated them to me asap (or even at the very end) and disposed of the access panels (or at least told me where they thought they fell so I could move the boxes and dispose of them myself). I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me and instead of hoping I wouldn't notice such details. Instead, nothing was said. I had to ask them about the condition of the vents (it's a fixer-upper and older home) and when we should have this done again. Usually, this stuff is communicated -- at least with another company I used in the past). I would definitely NOT use them again for the sloppy cleanup.

They did a good job and get ten out of ten! Truly
Collinsville Gutter Cleaners Provider Name Locked
! I've been cleaning my own gutters for forty years on a three story house. I don't get on the ladder anymore and have had several vendors clean my gutters. This is the first vendor that actually cleaned the gutters on the roof bagging the leaves without throwing it on the ground and lowering the bag.
- Lauren W.

The crew showed up unannounced on a Sunday. We were not home to discuss or inspect the work to be done. Upon my arrival home later that night I noticed debris on the driveway and much more on the back deck, left for me to cleanup. They were able to unclog a downspout on the front side of the house, but I really question if they cleaned specific gutters on the backside of the house due to height (+/-25') these gutters are the reason I hired this job out! I specificially wanted these addressed because I could not reach them safely. Inspecting the work later that evening I noticed there was still a small branch visible from the day before on top of the same gutter? Still leaves me to wonder what was or wasn't done?
- Scott E.

There were some glitches in scheduling, however. When I first purchased in June or

, they wanted to come that week. I had to call again in October to book something after the leaves had fallen. No point to doing it too soon. I don't recall all the details, but it took about three tries (and they kept coming too soon, before the leaves were down) before we organized a reasonable date for the service. ( I think they made two extra trips because the office wasn't well coordinated with the service employees.) The price was great; this was an Angie's List coupon that was about 1/3 lower than the

price. Not sure I'd use them again without a coupon.

They did a good job. We had our gutters cleaned before and have screens on and a previous company didn't to it right. They replaced the screens in the proper manner. They also put back a downspout that had fallen. They were very pleasant. We were very pleased.

They never did the job because they said that my house was too big when they drove by. The communication was poor and I had to reach out to them to find out if it was done and that is when they told me they couldn’t do it.
