"I had talked them about having my transmission repaired there and they said that the cost would be $80 for them to look at it. They said they would credit to the" work if we had it done. I had called him first asking him questions and we had not committed to bringing it in. My husband decided to go to the junk yard to buy used transmission to put in our van. This is what made the most sense for us financially at the time. One of the sensors inside the used transmission gets stuck off and on. . I talked to the owner's son and he said I could have it towed there if I had an issue. I explained I had another one put in and and I would go back and get my old transmission and have them just work on it and swap it out. The sensor went out again today and I arranged for a tow truck. The owner of
called me and said he "wanted nothing to do with you and your mess." He told me to cancel my tow truck. What makes a difference? They still will have to fix my transmission either way it goes! I was willing to pay to have fixed!

Transmission Service reviews in Broken Arrow

I purchased a used truck from Truck Town without any warranty. I
was told that if something needed to be repaired for 30 days they would
take care of it. I explained that my reason for buying the truck was
primarily for pulling a small fishing boat and so the truck
would not get much use. It was verbally agreed that instead of 30 days then the first 2,000 miles would be a fair measure.
several months only a few hundred miles had been driven. During that
period I had problems with the brakes. They would seize and lock when
parked for a week or more. I took it back to Truck Town and they made
some kind of adjustment. The adjustment didn’t work. I took it back
again and this time they repaired a brake part by welding it. That
worked temporarily. Over the next few months the problem again occurred
from time to time, especially when I left the truck for a week or two
with the emergency
brake on.
Then I started having
trouble shifting gears. I talked with Truck Town’s Service Manager

and he thought that servicing the transmission might help. I
agreed and paid a fee of approximately $100. The problem worsened over
the next several months until one day, 50 miles from home, I couldn’t
get it into first gear or reverse and it took significant effort to
force it into second. On the way home I called Truck Town and they told
me to drop it off that night for inspection. The next day the service
department inspected it and couldn’t find anything. They told me to
bring it back when I had the problem actually occurring. The problem
continued intermittently and since I drove it infrequently it took time
for it to get to the point where the problem became constant. In August
last year, I took it in again and was told it needed a new clutch. As
Truck Town’s service department was busy, Mr.

I drove out of the Truck Town’s parking lot I noticed a strange
whirring sound followed by vibration at the end of each shift from gear
to gear. I called Mr.
Broken Arrow Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
the next day and asked if this was because
the parts were new. He said it could be the case and to drive it a while
and call him back if it didn’t go away. It didn’t go away. The
vibration consistently occurred at a specific engine RPM in every gear
and the truck vibrated significantly at speeds over 55 MPH.
this time the brake problem I described earlier was continuing and I
also discovered that I was losing engine coolant. It seemed that I
needed a second opinion on the brakes and I had lost my confidence in
Truck Town’s service department.
I talked with a local boat
mechanic whom I trusted and he referred me to a truck mechanic in Port

. I told him the history with the truck but purposely did not
mention Truck Town or
Broken Arrow Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
. He conducted a full
inspection of the

truck and found that the previous brake repair
had failed due to a faulty weld, and he repaired that.
then found the cause of an engine coolant leak. The issue was with the
screw in fitting where the coolant line enters the engine block which
had apparently been that way when I bought the truck. The fitting had
come loose and in the process also destroyed the screw threads. A new
threaded hole had to be tapped, a difficult and time consuming
procedure, and that fixed that
He test drove the
truck and immediately verified a vibration problem. He initially
couldn’t see anything wrong with the clutch assembly or installation. He
suspected the drive shaft might be the cause and removed it and had it
expertly checked. It was confirmed that it was properly balanced within
factory specifications.
With the transmission and the drive
shaft now removed, he ran the engine on the lift and at exactly the RPM
where vibration had been occurring the vibration repeated. With
everything else eliminated, this meant the vibration had to be caused by
something in the clutch assembly. He concluded it had to be either the
flywheel (the existing one appeared to have been resurfaced but he was
not certain of that) or the pressure plate being out of balance and so
to make sure every variable was addressed he replaced the entire clutch
assembly including a new flywheel with factory OEM parts. The vibration
was eliminated.
To put all of this into perspective, after
all of the problems I’d had, I had ample reasons to get a second opinion
on the clutch vibration. Since I noticed the problem while driving out
of the lot after the clutch replacement it does not seem possible the
truck was test driven by a qualified person from either Truck Town or
Broken Arrow Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
. The thorough inspection and evaluation by the
other mechanic proved that either the clutch installation and/or the
parts were faulty. Given the circumstances, with the truck essentially
disassembled, having the clutch replaced was the only way to verify it
was at fault. After all other variables were eliminated, replacing the
clutch assembly that was installed by

solved the problems.
Both Truck Town and

Transmissions denied responsibility for the vibration problem. They had

to do the same thorough evaluation the other mechanic did to
find the problem and they did not do that. It took months…months to get

to discuss this with

and finally
decide to offer me an “accommodation” of $500 compared to the $1,300 I
had paid. I took them to small claims court and after two hours of
discussions with an arbitrator they both came up with the position that
if I had called when the problem had been discovered by the other
mechanic they would have covered the repair. Given my experiences with
them I have reason to doubt that would have happened.
bottom line is they agree there was a problem, they agree my mechanic
fixed it, and they
Broken Arrow Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
’t feel like they are accountable for repaying my
repair costs. I took the $500 to end all of this and will sell the truck
to get rid of the bad experience all together.

We took the car in due to a strange vibration. They found the issue to be a motor mount and repaired it. They also pointed out that there was a really bad oil leak that had caused the car to be nearly without oil. They filled up the engine with oil (for no charge) and provided a price to repair the oil leak, but did not pressure us in any way to make that repair. This is my son's car and he didn't have the money to do anything else. They recognized that he was serving in the Air Force and gave him a discount and were very supportive of him and his choice to serve our country. Fast forward a few months and the transmission went out. We brought it back to Builders and they quoted us a price to rebuild the transmission for around $2000. This is my son's car, which has 320,000 miles on it and is only worth $1500 (if we're lucky). So, it wasn't worth it to rebuild. Builders allowed us to leave the car on their property while we tried to find a replacement transmission from a salvage. After about 3 weeks of it being on their property they called us and told us that they found a transmission that was in good condition and would put it in. We had them do it and it's been great ever since. It is now a year later and we haven't had any issues with the replacement transmission or the motor mount. I would recommend Builders to anyone. They went above and beyond the call of duty to help my son get his car back on the road.

First he told me to get the bearings from the dealership (which is good because they're quality products), came back and did the job. Then he tells me they are not under warranty because I purchased the bearings from an outside dealership. The work was good but I didn't appreciate his suggestion which made excluded me from a warranty.

They took apart the transmission and found that it had a crack and due to overuse probably had some internal gears damaged.
Also a vibration I had identified came from a back bearing that was going south very fast.
It took a bit longer, in part because Mf. J.

I think they did an excellent job, and the price was very close to the original estimate.

Took two days to get truck back. Phone estimate was $474.15, but when I came to pick up the truck the bill was $528.70. In Virginia estimates must be in writing to be binding, so I was out of luck.

"We stand behind our work" is easy to say when everything goes perfectly, but you really only know if this statement is true when something goes wrong. When the transmission broke on my truck, I did some research and chose B&B Transmission because of the good reviews from other members. They rebuilt the transmission, and I was happy when they returned my truck a few days later in perfect working order. Little did we know that one of the new parts they used in the rebuild was defective, and about a month and a half later this was revealed when the part finally gave way and destroyed the transmission again. Without blinking an eye, B&B did a second complete rebuild and charged me nothing. I am happy to report that when they say "we stand behind our work" they truly mean it - I have seen it with my own eyes. Thanks, B&B.

Called in to get an idea of availability for potential service. Attempted to describe issue. Was met with irriatation, and disregard for the reason for my call.

This is the third transmission for this vehicle. The car only had 154K miles on it. The second transmission was rebuilt by a big name franchisee who neglected to add the necessary upgrades recommended by Honda, one being the transmission cooler. That transmission only lasted 25K miles. The 12 month warranty expired before I could get it fixed.
Speedy knew exactly what to do and told me about the upgrades needed for the transmission before I could mention them. I wanted to wait before giving a review to put some miles on the car to see how it performed.
After almost 8 months of driving and 5K miles (I work at home so I really don't drive that much, but I have driven it 4 hours to
Broken Arrow Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
2 or 3 times now), I have had no problems whatsoever. The car shifts much smoother than when I acquired it with 100K miles on it in 2007.
The people at Speedy (or
Broken Arrow Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
.) were very up front with me about the costs and time it would take. It did take about a week to get the car back which is very reasonable and on par with what they said.
The costs are about the same as the 2nd transmission I paid for.
I would definitely recommend Speedy to any person with an older Honda van that wants to get more miles out of it.
