"The shoes looked great but I haven't had this done on these shoes in many years and discovered I no longer had the same fit with my left foot which is wider" than my right. I tried wearing them for a while but something was just bothering this one area on the widest part of my foot. So I went back in a few days and asked if he could help me with this. For $7.50 per shoe he took them apart and widened that area on both sides of both shoes. They now fit perfectly and I can wear them easily. He had earlier flattened out the metatarsil ridges when he put on the new foot bed, so now I know he can adjust the fit and remove the ridges at the same time. when I need a new foot bed down the road. I really appreciated his help with this project as I have very difficult feet to fit and now have arthritis and I desperately wanted to wear some kind of sandal this summer without socks or orthotics. He also had my narrow small size of foot bed in a soft bed in stock and other places did not.

"The driver is punctual and professional. The first time I contacted
was when my dog had
on my king size comforter" that could only be dry cleaned. I was nervous at first because this is the first time I've used a dry cleaner, let alone a service that picks up and drops off as well. So, I scheduled the pick up
same day that my dog had the accident and they gave me a ticket number and date of return. I received the items
return date. I contacted them for a second time (also last minute) to pick up to skirts I needed dry cleaned for a engagement party. They returned the skirts to me on time and in great condition. The cost was anywhere between $8-$40 I would absolutely use this company for my future dry cleaning.

You would have to have a shoe repair shop evaluate them - some heels are hollow except at the tip so you might not be able to shorten them and retain the necessary strength - others are solid, so he would have to look at them. Might be able to just remove heel cap, cut down, and put heel cap back on.

Bear in mind that cutting the heels down will rock the shoe "backwards", so you will be walking on sole further back on the shoe - if the unthickened sole part betweenthe heel and the ball of the foot would be walked on because of this, you might have to pay him to add leather there to, which might mean resoling the entire shoe - could get pricey, if these are not worth hundreds of $.

As for evaluating a shoe repai place - only thing I can think is if these are pricey shoes, call store and see if they recommend a particular place. Otherwise Search Angies List for sheo repair places and reviews.

Wonderful. A few months earlier, I had taken my extremely worn leather coach bag to the owner for help, because the zipper was no longer reliable. I was expecting a big bill and a tremendous wait. Instead, the owner examined the bag and asked me if he could

with the zipper a bit. He made some adjustments to the metal zipper thing and told me that should take care of problem ... zipper works fine now. He did not even charge me.
I should have gone to him first, rather than use hardware paint to spruce up my old pair of work shoes. I really messed up the shoes -- my most comfortable pair!!!!! I took them to the owner to see if there was any way to salvage the shoes. About a week later, perfection.
The 2nd thing I love about this place, is the whiff of oil and leather you get as soon as you walk in the door. Wonderful place and I'll definitely be back.

It went very well. We dropped it off for a repair, but they replaced the whole handle. It looks and feels very sturdy, and should last for quite a while. Saved us from having to purchase a new piece of luggage at this time.

I took a pair of tall ladies boots to the cobbler to be altered - the boot did not fit around my daughters calf. He inserted a matching wedge shaped piece of leather into the top back of the boot where there was a good seam to cut down. And...a miracle...it fit perfect the first time!! He had measured my daughter to begin with, but i was skeptical. But - Perfect!!! and for a reasonable wait time of just over the upcoming week end - all this right before christmas! he is opened from Tuesday thru Saturday of about 9 am to 6 pm, and says he does most of the work on the two days he is closed!! They are in the State Street Plaza by Kmart, the phone is 607-722-1872.

It took longer to complete than I was originally promised. The vendor was a week late in picking up the coat from the shoe repair shop and took longer to return it.
The quality of the embroidery could have been better. Ended up with a couple of holes in the coat where they did the embroidery. They should have reinforced the embroidery by putting a stiffer fabric behind it.
Overall, I was pleased and very well may use this service again.

Took two pairs of boots to be re-soled in September 2014. I've had great luck there in the distant past. I was told that I could
pick them up the week before Thanksgivings Day. Two months! Ok, their work used to be worth the wait.
I returned to the store the week after Thanksgiving (

12th, another month! They said they have been very busy and would call me when they were done. She said that they were now telling people that shoes would be ready in April.
I returned on 20 February and was asked if they had called me, I said no. But as I gave them an extra month I figured they had to be done. Again, they weren't finished. I was told to return on 5 March. Ok, after 5 months and three trips I asked for a refund on my prepayment. They gave me my boots back and repaid me for my advanced payment.
The owner's wife said she was in the hospital for three weeks, so they were running behind. While I was sorry she had been ill and can understand that might cause her husband to fall behind, she had the boots a full two months (one month longer than promised) and they still weren’t done, so even if she was in the hospital, they had 5 weeks (while she wasn’t in the hospital) to get them done. Plus the other three months!
I also asked several people in line when they dropped of their shoes and all told me about three or four weeks ago. How come they do certain shoes before others? I paid in advance just like they did.
They are terribly disorganized, slow, and unresponsive to phone calls. They never pick up their phone. I've tried calling a dozen times and watched them ignore the phone while I was in their shop. They also don't have a phone message setup.

Picked the lady's boots up yesterday. I was very surprised/upset that only half the sole was replaced from where the original sole broke and splended in to the existing back portion of the sole. The heel that he said had to be replace if he replaced the whole sole, had a black cap on the bottom portion of the existing heel. The bottom and the heel were painted black to blend in with the 1/2 of the sole that was replaced. 1st the brown heel that went good with the boot is now painted black. 2nd the sole is weak as the original sole cracked in the middle and that is where the new black sole begins. I brought this to the shoe repairman's attention and he stated that is what we agreed too. I told him that we definitely talked about a full sole replacement on both boots and that is the only reason why the heel would need to be replaced. I would not have left them to be repaired if he was only going to put a 1/2 sole on the boots. He would not do anything about the error that he made. He did it the cheapest way possible and the boots look awful now. I will need to replace the soles sooner than I thought, I'm sure as they won't last.
As to the Men's boots that needed to be stretched - my husband came with me to try them on and there was no change to the boot. He decided to leave the boots there for another 3 days as they are going to stretch it more.
I would not recommended Rawhide Boot & Shoe Repair Shop. They tell you what you want to hear, make sure you pay up front and do cheapest/easiest for them. They have your money and won't do anything to correct this. Outcome is not good!

My shoes are ruined. They look horrible!
West Chester Shoe Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
tried to convince me that he had to "hand sew" the stitching, but he went right through the side of the shoe and left holes. He also left glue and his stitches were uneven and sloppy. I cannot wear these shoes again. Sloppy work. Do not use this place.

They are excellent. They know what they are doing and they are always ready when they say it will be. They are reasonable in price and the quality of the shoes are always very good. I would highly recommend them.
