Rocky River Carpenters Reviews

"I was pretty pleased. After they were done the fence post, the main post was kind of green. I called the owner of the company to complain. He was very friendly and he sent someone out to cover up the post with more fencing material."
"Great. I called for an estimate and

was there within 30 minutes. The estimate was timely, in writing, and everything was very professional. He was able to perform the work extremely well. Another report uses the word: meticulous to describe

's work. I could not say it any better. The work was timely scheduled and finished, and required no additional-clean-up on my part. He is by-far the best contractor I found on Angie's List."

was referred to us by a contractor we used for painting; we called him on Friday and
Rocky River Carpenters Provider Name Locked
met with us Tuesday to discuss our ideas. He put together an estimate and we had it within two days. After agreeing to the terms, he scheduled a start date and estimated finish date--which he met perfectly! No issues there. He was easy to reach via phone or email and always replied to questions/concerns. We chose all of our fixtures except for the tub/surround which he recommended so everything is exactly to our taste. He and his team have done a beautiful job and we think the bathroom looks incredible. We would definitely use and recommend

"We called them and they came out right away. They told us we needed to use a construction company because they did not do that type of work. They recommended another great company for us. we've used

before. We have found them to be very honest, responsive, and professional. (The whole cost of the repair work was $3400.00, which the 2 companies divided between each other, though I don't know how that was divided)."

was very professional and a pleasure to work with. I trusted him to work in my home while I was away at work. I came home to find beautiful new baseboards and no debris or sawdust. I was very pleased with his workmanship. Upon inspection (and I am a perfectionist) I found one baseboard seam that needed a bit of sanding.

attended to it to my complete satisfaction and explained that the walls were not completely straight. The wooden firewood box liner was a big challenge since the walls and opening of the firewood box are made of uneven brick and cinder block.
Rocky River Carpenters Provider Name Locked
had to measure the opening and construct and paint a wooden liner with horizontal shelf making it the size of a small two-drawer filing cabinet. He then had to place the insulation above it and slide the wooden liner into the opening after chipping away some of the cinder block. The new liner & shelf completely change the corner of my room. Instead of an unusable eyesore that required plastic sheeting to stop the draft (and mice) from the attic above, I now have a beautiful, usable storage area that now holds two rectangular baskets. I am very pleased with it. Unfortunately, cold air was still coming in even after insulation had been installed above the box. So I just bought some black pipe insulation and pushed it into the small openings at the side of the black wooden liner until no more cold air could be felt. I am very happy with how it turned out. I would recommend

"Do not even think about hiring this company.
Rocky River Carpenters Provider Name Locked
claims to be able to do any type of work, but he can't. I had many problems with him, but the main one was that he did a terrible job of installing tile on my floors. He did not properly prep the floor before installing it & thus the tiles are not adhered to the floor well, so they move & the grout is cracking all over. It looks awful. Tile experts say it can't be fixed, it must be re-done. Halfway through the project he said, "In hindsight, I probably should have put a

of concrete down." Other problems: he broke a light fixture, the tub door he installed leaked, the toilet he installed wobbled, a doorknob he installed wouldn't close properly, he installed trim hastily so my sliding closet doors won't close all the way. Also, he was very disrespectful of my belongings, he never covered anything & he made a mess. He left permanent stains outside of my door and in the stairwell. I could go on if I had more space. It was a nightmare.
"Everything went well, the whole process took only 3 weeks.
Rocky River Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was very easy to work with and cared about doing a good job. He always showed up when he said he would and did exactly what he said he would. There were no problems."
Rocky River Carpenters Provider Name Locked
was willing to modify his schedule to accommodate the delivery of the cabinets, electrical work, cabinet installation, etc. He is knowledgeable about various kinds of floor coverings, grout material, etc. and made recommendations that were quite helpful."
"I am really favorably pleased with the work in both areas. I thought it was a reasonable price. They were efficient and timely and very pleasant to work."
"Our dated tile shower was torn out, as well as the wall dividing it from the vanity area. The dividing wall was rebuilt as a half-wall, with new tile on the shower side and frameless glass above the wall. This opened up the view into the small bathroom to make it look larger. The top of the half-wall was capped with cultured marble applied at a slight angle to enable water to run back into the shower. The old aluminum-framed shower door and

were removed and replaced with a frameless glass shower door and cultured marble

to match the cap. The shower head was raised after the walls and soffit were removed, and is now at a more comfortable height. A lovely shampoo niche for the shower was built, the back wall of which had mosaic tile added to match the mosiac stripe running horizontally around the shower walls. The old mosaic shower floor was torn out and replaced with a matching cultured marble (one piece) floor. The shower walls were expertly tiled in an attractive verticle pattern. The drain cover and drain elbow were replaced. The soffit and ceiling light over the shower were removed and replaced with a ceiling at a height flush with the remaining ceiling. A new can light was installed in the new shower ceiling. The original tile baseboards in the room were removed as well as the old vinyl floor. A new porcelain floor and porcelain baseboards were installed. When they replaced the vanity, that had to be removed for construction demo, they repositioned it about an inch from the wall in order for the drawers to no longer hit the door frame molding. Then they closed off the new opening between the vanity and the wall with stained wood to fill the gap. They also suggested adding, and did add, a recessed toe-kick valance under the vanity to keep dropped items from rolling to the back wall. That has worked out very well. They returned a couple times after the bathroom was finished to make adjustments and deal with minor issues that had not been completed to my satisfaction. They accommodated my work schedule for those repeat visits, which I greatly appreciated. All of their crew were talented, personable, hard working, friendly and willing to go the extra mile to please their customer. I highly recommend them.
