"We are very happy with the work
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
performed. The final result looks great and we have quite a bit of additional usable space as a result of the work.
Ric and team treated are home with care and were very respectful. They delivered everything as agreed, and Ric was communicative about any issues that arose during the work.
Some of the final touches lingered a bit due to scheduling and waiting for some hardware to come in. But overall we were happy with the quality, and we would engage
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
again in the future if the need arises.

"The service was wonderful, the product is fantastic and their advice/tips were wonderful. We didn't have the layout to make many functional improvements but the advice we got went a LONG way and we are so pleased with our new kitchen. The value of my home increased well past the cost and we enjoy the kitchen so much. It's the focal point of our house. We love it!"

"Before we met
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, we were a bit concerned about having 'strangers' in our house, doing work during the day, especially since we weren't going to be in the house all the time. From the first meeting, it was clear that
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very professional, allaying all our concerns. He and his team showed up PROMPTLY every day, thus allowing us to keep to our schedules. Each evening, as they left, they swept the basement, put away all their tools, and left the room neat. The one time they needed a subcontractor, to put in the egress,
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
supervised the work, calling them back a second time to make them complete the window well to his standards, before he was willing to pay them. It was clear that
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
has high standards and his work shows it. At each step along the way, the city came to inspect, and we passed each inspection with flying colors.
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
framed the basement, added a bathroom, added an egress, did all the wiring and all the plumbing, the drywalling, painting, etc. He did (or contracted out) all the work except the carpeting. He told us up front we'd be better off financially to get that work done ourselves. The final result of
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's work is nothing short of outstanding.
We would highly recommend
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
to our friends.

"I found the owners very easy to work with. They walked us through all phases of the construction, setting clear expectations. They provided great guidance and suggestions, including some modifications to the plans we had drawn up which were very much appreciated. Our budget was limited so they helped us make careful selections and prioritize features to remain within our budget. The individuals who did the actual work were clearly skilled and very professional. Any concerns we had (and there weren't many) were handled promptly and responsively. We made a couple of changes once the project got underway and no problems getting them done. Overall, I was very pleased with their obvious listening to make sure they delivered what we wanted. The owner spent time with us throughout the project and did his own inspection when complete, making sure that the details were correct. we've been using our new addition for approximately two years now and have been extremely pleased."

"I was not satisfied with the work done and I believe the problem all comes down to poor communication, missed expectations and passed blame. I had initial contact with
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
via the phone in which we requested a bid on a large set of projects we had planned for a home we recently purchased. I sent him the list of projects to be completed ahead of the meet with request that the bid be made with as much detail as possible. My wife met with him in person to discuss the work on location. She had a good impression of him after the meeting. He called me back to give me his pricing via the phone and this is where the poor communication started. He gave me a price of $150 for the ceiling repair and $35 per hour for his drywall person to do the other work (these are my notes from the phone conversation, as he did not submit anything in writing or with any detail). I asked for an estimate on the number of hours to help me ball-park the overall cost but he skirted around the question without ever giving a number. We hired him as we liked the idea of a drywall expert helping us out and another drywall person we called was not able to get the project started when we needed. Work was scheduled for April 27, 2011, a check was left on the counter and he was given a code to access the home. That night I reviewed the work and I was immediately disappointed. Our goal was a complete repair of the issue (water damage to the ceiling) and what I found was an incomplete patch. There was a very noticeable large water damage
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
on the ceiling, which he repaired, but other smaller drip

indicating water damaged drywall above were untouched. I immediately called him to inquire why this area was not fixed and he indicated that was not was his bid included (he never told us details on what he planned) and his recommendation was to paint over the water damage spots (all information I have gathered indicates that the damage would simply show through again unless treated with an oil based primer) or have the drywall person put new mud over that area. Additionally, although the patch was completed and my check for $150 now in his hands, the ceiling was in no way complete. Apparently he actually meant that the ceiling would cost $150 PLUS $35 per hour for the mud work and finishing. I cut my losses and waited to speak with the drywall person. I covered all of the areas that we wanted him (the drywaller) to work on and walked him through the house. He was working on multiple projects and in the end, the drywall work took significantly longer than I expected (going off my own estimation, as
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
would not provide one). In the end, I ended up paying the painter to finish the drywall work in order for them to start the painting. Most areas that the drywall person worked on were very good and it's just the timing that was non idea, except for... The ceiling repair - which we expected to cost $150 but ultimately likely cost double that number - was not even when looking at the ceiling line (where the wall and ceiling meet). I was not sure what to expect for a ceiling repair and did not bring it up to
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
but later was told by another person in construction that they would make the person re-do the work if they were verifying the punch list. I'm not sure that
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
ever inspected the work of his drywall finisher to be up to his expectations but later when I called him about the issue, he declared that it was not his work (the patch) that caused the dip in the ceiling line and that I should talk to the drywall guy instead. So, in the end,
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and I have issues working with each other that just compounded on top of one another. Poor communication, missed expectations and passed blame. (edited for clarity and added paragraph breaks)

Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed up ahead of schedule. He took notes as I described the 5 jobs we needed done. He paid attention to detail and made suggestions and asked good questions. Then, he started working and completed every task in a way that left us very satisfied. He was uncomfortable cutting away part of the bottom of a cabinet to help a new refrigerator fit in the opening and worked until he found a better way to get the job done. No cutting was needed and it took less time. We had never used a
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
service and will definitely use them again in the future. No complaints.

"Called for estimate. 2 weeks later
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to our home and measured, discussed scope of job and seemed interested in our project. He told us he would get an estimate to us in about 2 weeks. 5 weeks later we called and
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
said he did not have anything done as he had been too "busy with other jobs". He completely wasted our time and could not even find the time in his schedule to make a phone call to let us know this. Very unprofessional, unreliable and obviously overextended. Do not waste your time with this company."

"He was wonderful. He is very responsive, and he is just brilliant. He is extremely good at what he does, and he knows what he is talking about. When you go shopping he will go with you to offer advice and make recommendations. He alerted us when we were spending too much on anything, and the prices he charges were very reasonable for the work he did. He made sure everything was perfect. I completely trust him alone in my home, and I would absolutely use him any time. "

"We cannot say enough about
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
Powell Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. What a terrific experience. They delivered exactly what we were looking for and they did it on time (4 1/2 weeks) We did not have the first problem and they were responsive beyond our expectation. Quite frankly, you would be crazy to go with any other company! OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE! Wish that there was an A+ rating! "
