First, I should have known better than to give out my personal information at a home show, but it was at my job and I thought I was being polite. Instead, I have incurred a major headache and time waste.
This company, which also uses the name Home Experts, began calling me shortly after the home show, which was in April, telling me that they were interesting in giving us a free basement remodel, so that they would have a show home in
. I didn't believe them, but once I explained our basement ceiling height, I thought that was the end of it. Instead, the caller asked how old our windows were and if we needed any other work done. I told him that our windows were mostly new, and we had just replaced the last of them with high end ones at the front of our home, which he had never heard of.
It didn't hear anything for about two weeks, but then this company began calling a few times a week, mostly when we were not home. They never leave a message. Finally, one day, I answered, mostly to tell them to stop calling, but at the time, we had a few small projects that needed work. I spoke to the representative, who scheduled us for 5
. His manager then called to give us a discount code, and verify our address, which the rep had gotten wrong. We fixed it and confirmed the appointment. On the 5th, the manager called just before the appointment to tell us all his reps decided to take the day off (so why schedule people on a holiday weekend) and could they please come on Monday? We agreed, and on Monday, the representative did not show up on time. After about 20 minutes, we decided we weren't going to wait and we went out. We got a call telling us the rep had gone to the wrong side of town (had the wrong address) and asked if we could again reschedule, to which we said no.
From then on, it has been a full phone call blitz. They call repeatedly, especially if i mute the call. I finally answered again last week because we had another job and I wanted an estimate for a roof repair, and I was told they only do new roofs, which was fair. I explained that I was only interested in a repair at this point, and the rep insisted that he could send a person out for a new roof quote. I insisted that I did not want that and ended the call. The same rep, I believe, keeps calling us, and I have told him twice now that I am no longer interested in anything they offer, but we still get calls, sometimes as late as 8pm (which was last night, when I said no).
My next step is to contact our phone company to block the number, since we can't do it ourselves.
I do not recommend this company, based on their sales techniques and lack of professionalism.

and his team have been great to work with so far. They are about half way done with the job and I have appreciated their quality of work and ease to work with. I'll come back and update my review when the job is complete.

Over a period of several weeks, I attempted to arrange a consultation appointment about installing a floor in my basement, contacting
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
multiple times via phone and text. He proposed a number of different times when he could come, but then he never came.

Great experience all around.
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
is dedicated to his work and is extremely professional. No issues at all. Very happy with the 3 new doors. Would definitely recommend and would use again in the future. His price was competitive with other quotes we received.

and his crew began the job on time. They worked every day until the job was done. He had suggestions which we took to improve the outcome of the job. He and his crew are very friendly and easy to work with. We actually had a good time if that can be possible without a kitchen. He is the first contractor that I have ever used that I trust to call back for further work. I recommend him extremely highly. Incidently, he was not the cheapest bid that I received on the job but his comment "I have been doing this work for a while and I know what it will take to do the job properly and what it will cost." He was right. The only changes in the price was what I decided to have him do in addition to the original bid. Something that I really liked about his work is that if there is electrical work to be done, he calls in a licensed electrician, he won't risk your health and safety by trying to cut corners.
He is a quality carpenter and I recommend him without reservation.

We had a great experience with
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
in building a bedroom, closet, 1/2 bath and storage room in basement. We had a very specific timeline to work with, and
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
bent over backwards to accommodate these deadlines. The bathroom took creativity to work around the various pipes and

, etc. but
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
took it all in stride. He was easy going and easy to work with. As one friend observed, "It's too good of a tape job; I can't find any studs".
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
is willing to take on both small and large jobs. Recommended.

When we contacted
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
of
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
to discuss installing a backyard patio, he was very proactive in making a plan and giving us an estimate on our project. We decided to proceed with a two-tiered concrete patio with acid-stain finish. The surface texture was to have large circular fan brush strokes.
We researched online and provided
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
with a picture of a patio color that we liked. We were put in contact with the company that he subcontracted the job to. We thought this was strange and ended up meeting with the subcontractor with and without the presence of
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
as we prepared to get the job underway.
The concrete was poured in May 2012. We had to wait for a month for the concrete to cure before the stain was applied. We were happy with the result and paid our balance in full. Fast forward to January 2013. After a big snow, I looked out the window to the patio so see that the "stain" had chipped off in large chunks all over the entirety of the patio's surface. I took photos and sent
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
a text message with images attached. He was shocked that this happened and said as soon as the weather premitted he would send out his subcontractor to fix the issue. I contacted
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
many times throughout the spring and was put off multiple times. I was then, again, redirected to communicate with his subcontractor. The subcontractor told me that he informed
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
that the finish we requested was not a good choice for the weather conditions in Indiana.
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
failed to mention this to us. After reviewing the contract that we had with
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
, and then the subcontractor providing the contract that he had with
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
, we realized that
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
had different surface finishes in each contract. What he discussed and agreed to with us was different than what he agreed to with the subcontractor. The subcontractor came out and did a quick fix of spraying some stain over the chipped areas to try to improve the appearance for a birthday party we had scheduled.
I ended up in a situation of hearing from
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
that the subcontractor was lying and didn't preform satisfactory work. Meanwhile, since I was constantly having to communicate directly with the subcontractor he was informing me that
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
failed on his part to properly understand the project and accurately relay critical information to us in an attempt to keep us happy. Eventually the subcontractor wanted to wash his hands of the situation and cut us a check for what it would cost to refinish the patio surface.
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
then hired another subcontractor to come to refinish the patio surface. We then gave him the sum of money that we were given by the original subcontractor to give to new subcontractor to refinish surface.
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
put us off all summer, promising us dates that th job would be completed and then making excused for not following through. His subcontractor, who, once again we had to meet with, came to do job in NOVEMBER 2013. This included sanding off the circular fan brush stroke surface texture that was included in our contract. A new stain was applied and sealed. We were relatively satisfied with the job considering we were giving up the texture we wanted and how long this fiasco had been drawn out. Fast-forward to December 2013 (one month later). The stain is peeling off again. We send
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
images. He comes to look at it. Says we will fix it in the spring. I never hear from him. I have to contact him multiples times. Finally he sends the subcontractor out to reseal the patio. He did not restain as was discussed and required to fix the problem. He slopped on 2 coats of sealer back to back. When I arrived home the patio was covered in bubbles. Large bubbles created from the sealer he put on. The following day(that I was told we could walk of it) I went to patio and Large bubbles had dried in place all over the patio surface. The sealer crunched under my feet. It crumbled and started peeling immediately! I text
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
with photos. He says he's going to send his subcontractor over to look at it and fix it. He just sloppily applied another coat of sealer over chipping sealer that was applied over chipping stain.
The patio now looks worse than ever.
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
now refuses to answer or return our calls or respond to our text messages. This has been going on for 2 1/2 years! I am livid with the way he has handled all of this. It has caused much upset and stress and we have moved our pation furniture on and off the patio on too many occasions to count. THe only way to fix the stain and sealer issue is to further sand the surface of the patio and start over. We have told
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
we are no longer interested in his "fixing" our patio. We would like a refund of the money paid for a job that was never completed. At this point we are so frustrated with the situation and his complete lack of professionalism that I want nothing to do with him coming again to my property. I want my money back. I want to hire a real professional who knows his own trade to complete a job that is promised. I don't want to be in contact with his subcontractors. I did not hire them! I hired
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
of
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
to do this job. HUGE mistake that I regret everyday that I go outside and look at that patio.

Here's the deal with
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
and his company. They provide B/C level work at an A price. If you are a perfectionist (i.e. want all you doors to close correctly and think they should do a semi-decent paint job) then this is not your company. If you just need something cheap, quick and you won't look too closely at the craftsmanship, then this is absolutely the place!
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
is nice. He is a salesman. He will promise you the moon. And then only shows up when he wants to collect money. I did not like the fact that he showed up to collect a significant progress payment on day 2 of a two week job. And was chomping at the bit/pressuring to get the final check even as his guys were working still in
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
. We had done a walk-through and put tape on items to be fixed. They pretty much just walked through and took off the tape markers and told us that "when the paint dried" the spots would be better. They also ran out of paint (after
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
had collected his check but had PROMISED they would finish) so they left promising to come back. After several phone calls through the next month, we finally got someone to come back. He only brought one color with him and couldn't even finish all the painting because he hadn't brought enough.
We had some ups and
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
with
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
and we finally walked away tired of fighting to get them to come finish. Someone in an earlier review mentioned holding money in an account to be given 2 weeks after completion. I think that's a great idea. Let all the paint dry before handing over that final check!

Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
was very responsive and came right away to help solve some basement water issues. His crew started work right away and did an excellent job. They did an extensive amount of concrete work for a VERY good price.
Mentor Basement Remodeling Companies Provider Name Locked
even offered a discount if we could begin work right away.
The quality of the work was very good. The flooring was installed very nicely with no seams or awkward transitions. The concrete was also done very well. All of the workers were prompt, worked hard, and kept the jobsite clean.
