Door Installation Reviews in Mentor

They had to re frame for mounting the door and spent a lot of time with the installation being sure everything was correct. All went well and the door and opener is great. They listened to any questions I may have had and were very thourough with everything they did. Even had a bad door panel come in but reordered a new one to make sure there were no blemishes. It took me awhile to figure out exactly what I wanted but they worked with me and applied a promotional discount for the door I chose.

came out to look at the various jobs I needed done, he took careful notes and discussed whether or not, and to what extent, a particular repair needed to be done. He arrived when promised, completed the work on time and charged a reasonable amount for the work. We will definitely use his services again.

From the original planning to the final implementation, the project went very smooth.

, the owner of
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, was totally involved throughout the entire project and in fact performed 90% of the work. I consider myself to be somewhat of a perfectionist and

is definitely the kind of contractor that I always hope to find.

did a beautiful job at our house, the price was very fair and I would recommend him highly.

We had no idea as to cost for new entry door but were dismayed with their price of $5000 to $7000 for a new door with two sidelights. Definitely more than we planned on spending. the esimate for a new 9 light door for entry to the garage was $2000. We also felt that was out of our desired range. These prices included materials and installation. The most disappointing part of the conversation was when we declined to proceed with the initial estimate the sales person started rolling out special one-time offers if we sign up that day for a new door. I expect a contractor to put their best price on the table and not play games of ' if you sign up right

i know I can get you a special price."
We did not like their approach to quoting a job and would not recommend nor would we use them.

I contacted
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
for an estimate on repairing a screen door and replacing a storm door on a rental property that I have in Mentor, Ohio. I was given an estimate and advised that the storm door would need to be ordered and when I could expect the work to be done. I gave
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
the go ahead to do the work.
When the storm door came in I was contacted and arrangements were made for the work to be completed.

worked with me on the job price and kept me informed of the progress of the project at all times. Down payment and the balance billing were handled in an efficient and professional manner. I was very pleased with the people and the job. I would recommend these folks to anyone.

were very nice explaining what they were doing and why. On time and cleaned up after themselves. My one complaint is that they suggested I go to mentor lumber because they had an account (?) there and could get better prices on the vanity and sink. I felt as though I had to go there when I would have preferred to shop around.I can't comment on the price because honestly I didn't price anyone else.

I did have them this year (2012) give me a price on remodeling my tiny kitchen and thought the price was high.

When I called they said they would try to get here that day-called back and said it would be the next day- I had to leave while he was here.-He fixed it-before my return and left bill when i asked him too.

Being new to the area, my husband and I recently relocated from Pennsylvania, we weren't sure about permits and what was needed and what wasn't. It is absolutely our responsibility to find that out but in Pa we never had too, the contractor always took care of that part. Apparently
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
never obtained permits for any of the work he did on our house. He installed the fence without the cement footers, when questioned about it he said it wasn't needed. The gate for the fence is not a real gate It is just a piece of fence cut in half and after only one month doesn't close right and the lock is already rusting. My husband had to finish filling in the posts with dirt from the yard.

As far as the door removal and window installations, after installing the windows he left the frame open for days on the outside of the house with insulation hanging out while it was raining. The capping around the windows and the siding under the new window was so sloppy was husband made him do it again. He left nails sticking out in the wall on the inside wall of the house. I do believe that all that is holding the window in the frame is caulk. He left the work site a mess every day with debris all over and my husband and I had to clean up so our dogs wouldn't step on any nails. As a homeowner I know it was my responsibility to have checked him out further instead of taking the word of a neighbor and I will regret having him do this work always, but if I can prevent another home owner going through what we went through then that's the least I can do.

Overall it was positive. The installation was good. The products that they installed were pretty good. They arrived on time to their appointments. On the initial installation they misordered one of the storm doors, and they had to order the correct size, and that took 3 weeks.

was 1 of 3 contractors we contacted regarding this project, but the only one which is a true carpenter/craftsman. Our experience with
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was positive from the beginning.
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
understands the importance of great customer service. He promptly returned my call for an estimate and was on time for both our estimate meeting and installation.
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
provided me with a firm written quote and a receipt acknowledging payment via e-mail. He also kept me well informed of the status of my special order and potential installation dates. In addition to providing great customer service,
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
takes great pride in his work and provides high quality work product. Our French doors are gorgeous. The other two contractors recommended oak veneer doors, but
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
explained in laymen terms why oak veneer doors would not work and would not look good in our home. Additionally,
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
provided us with a price on solid wood doors that was less expensive than the price we received from one contractor for oak veneer doors.
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
takes great pride in his work. In addition to handling the installation of the doors,
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
also made sure that the French doors aesthetically fit with our current woodwork. He took a piece of the trim from our existing woodwork back to his stop. Then, he stained our new French doors to match the existing woodwork perfectly. Several of our family members have commented on how beautiful the doors look and how nicely they fit in with the existing woodwork. After installation, my husband and I determined that we did not like the standard brass hinges and catches that were used. I contacted
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and he promptly ordered brushed nickel hardware and scheduled his brother,
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, to handle the changing of hardware.
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
also provided us with a quote for this work and in the end lowered the cost by $25.00, without my request for him to do so.
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, just like

, is very friendly and professional. I plan on hiring
Mentor Door Installers Provider Name Locked
for any of my future custom woodworking needs.
