Fairfield Movers Reviews

"The truck arrived pretty much on time. They got lost, but called for directions. They looked over the job first, then moved everything quickly. The move included a large sofa and a washer and dryer. The entire process took about 3 hours, including a 25 minute drive to the new apartment. The movers were efficient and friendly. I would definitely use

"They sent 3 movers for the job who were very prompt and courteous. They started quickly to evaluate everything to be moved and began to pad the home to prevent any nicks and scratches. I had items in the actual apartment and a shared basement. Since the entrances were a little small, they removed the doors and very efficiently removed all my furniture and boxes from both areas. We had to stop at another home nearby to pick up a bed, then the guys took a 30 minute break for lunch (no charge to me) and met me at the new house. They were very careful in padding up my new home and putting the items neatly in the rooms as well as setting up the beds. When I opened the boxes, you could tell that the items had not shifted much at all. The overall move time was longer than I expected, but mostly because of the amount of things I had and the size of the new home. I was very pleased with the experience."

, along with two other men, moved all my furniture, clothing, boxes, everything. They put down a drop cloth so as not to ruin the rug, which impressed me. They were polite, courteous, and efficient. The crew did not waste any time."
"There were many problems. First, the packing was done poorly; clothes were dumped into the bottom of wardrobe boxes, boxes were not filled (thus costing me more and leading to boxes collapsing), and they needed frequent reminders to pack everything. Numerous times I took a walk through a room they said they were finished with, and needed to point out very obvious items that had not been packed. On moving day, the workers were very polite but were also very slow and took frequent breaks (I was paying by the hour). Once they said they were done with a room, I would walk through and find boxes still sitting there so needed to remind them to take them. I had to do this twice with my attic. Between the packing of the truck and the delivery, 3 of the guys walked off the job. They did send 2 replacements who were excellent and saved the day. I have found a few broken things but haven't finished unpacking yet."
"To begin with they were three hours late and no one from the company called me. I had to call them and the girl in the office said that one of their movers had called in sick, so they had to pull my movers off my job to do that one first. She assured me of a discount because of this. When they finally did arrive, they looked like prison escapees and I was almost afraid to be left alone with them. The very first item they loaded on the truck (my deceased mother's

cabinet) they broke. They shattered the glass on the back. The guy told me that he "didn't want any claims" against him and he would just pay me to have it fixed. He said "it shouldn't cost no more than $20 for a mirror". (turned out it was $85). After making the move from one house to another, they proceeded to take a break in my front yard, drinking mountain dew and smoking cigarettes. Then they had the nerve to inform me that "a lot of people don't know you're supposed to tip movers". I was shocked that they would bre

"I needed someone last minute to help me move the large furniture from my apartment to my house. When I called, I believe I spoke to the owner and he was friendly and able to schedule an appointment on less than a week's notice. On the day of the move, the two movers were a few minutes late to my apartment due to an error with the GPS location (a common issue with my apartment), but they called ahead and let me know what was going on. The two men were professional and friendly. I apologize, since it's been several months since my move, I don't remember their names. They ran into a lot of trouble moving my washer. While they both worked extremely hard to fix the matter, it caused me to spend a lot more than I was expecting since they charge an hourly rate. While not entirely their fault, I wish they had told me not re-installing the shipping bolts likely wouldn't cause an issue rather than fighting with them for over an hour. Also, they were not prepared with a proper invoice and gave me my receipt hand written on a piece of paper. I never received an actual receipt as promised, but never argued for it as my check cleared as expected and the hourly rate matched what I was quoted.
Overall, I would consider using them again if the receipt issue was truly a one off matter as they explained to me. My furniture was carefully packed, there was no damage, and other than the washer issue, they worked quickly, were friendly, and were willing to accommodate any request I had. They also were kind enough to help me set my washer and dryer back up in the new place, only touching them after I waived any liability for damage (which I did).
"The company had three employees move us. One of those employees stole jewelry. My wife called 60 or more "We buy gold places" and found where their employee

"I had waited until the last minute to hire movers for all of our furniture in our condo. The date just crept up on me! When I called

about moving on Saturday, they apologized and said they had no times available, but were able to provide me service on Friday if I was available. That worked perfectly for me! I stated that we would only need the movers to move all of the heavy items that were just furniture pieces. The individual I spoke with provided me with 3 individuals so that the move would be completed quicker out of a convenience for me as there was not a lot to move.
The day of the moving, I received a call from the movers earlier than expected. They had stated that they were done with the previous job early and they could meet me whenever I was available. Luckily I had gotten done with all of the necessities early on Friday and was able to immediately meet them. They walked through my condo assessing everything that needed moved. I politely asked the 3 gentlemen if they would be able to move all of the boxes that were in the kitchen. When they saw what I was talking about, I think I caught them a little off guard... but they said no problem.
Not only did they move the furniture that we originally planned for them too. They also moved around 30 boxes of additional household items that I had packed. They were very funny and professional men. I enjoyed having them around to move things on such a stressful day! I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that needs moving!
