"We had no water and called in a panic.
showed up within 30 minutes. We needed a new pressure tank. He came back the next day like he said" and replaced the pressure tank. Took every piece of garbage and you would never know any work was done. Very clean ..very professional..and very very nice.

"
was professional and courteous. Filter replacement was quick and easy. He also checked the water pressure reducing valve outside and let" us know that it was not working and it should be fixed, whether by them or someone else. Not something we would have otherwise known, so we are glad he checked this. We did call a plumber to replace the valve a few days later.

Water softeners

Even if your tap water comes from a reservoir, chances are it previously passed through underground caverns where it absorbed mineral deposits. Water with a high concentration of minerals is referred to as "hard" water. It's safe to drink but can harm your plumbing and appliances.

I actually just replaced my Pelican Natursoft "water softener" with an more-traditional ion exchange model.  I used the natursoft for a little over 4 years, and I can say it worked as advertised.  When remodeling a while back we decided to get a tankless water heater.  All the documentation indicated that hard water with the tankless heater is a no go.  We had to do somehting, but since I'm lazy (didn't want to deal with the salt or plumbing in a drain) and my wife didn't like soft water, the salt-free model looked attractive.  I too was somewhat skeptical, but the reviews I found looked good, and I know enough about the science of nucleation (I was a material science major in college) to know that what they said made sense, so I bought one.

One thing needs to be made clear - the natursoft system is NOT a water softener!  It contains a media which nucleates some disolved metalic salts out of solution.  These crystals, once formed, remain in the water, and still react with oils, detergents, etc. in the same manner as the disolved salts.  They also continue to form scale wherever water is allowed to evaporate, such as faucet nozels and shower heads. In fact, it's possible that evaporative scaling was even worse than before we installed the system.

Importantly, however, once in crystaline form, these salts do not stick to pipes, or in my case, heat-exchangers.  My tankless heater has a sensor to indicate when it needs to be descaled, and the manual indicates that for my water hardness and hot water use I should have had to descale approximately every 6 months.  In four years with the natursoft the descaleing indicator has never gone off.  For further evidence, when I installed my new softener a few weeks ago, I had to cut sections from the copper pipe on both the inlet and outlet side of the natursoft.  Both sections of pipe were installed at the same time as the natursoft, but while the pipe on the inlet side was green and rough on the inside, the outlet pipe looked and felt like new.

As such, if you want or need a salt-free system for some reason (low-sodium diet for blood pressure, don't like the feel of soft water, can't easily plumb a drain into the softener location, or can't carry heavy bags of salt to the softener), then I can unequivocably recommend the natursoft.  If, like my wife and I today, you want soft water, that feels soft on your skin, creates less soap scum, rinses cleaner in the dishwasher, etc., then the natursoft probably isn't for you.

Water Softener Installation And Repair reviews in Dayton

the service was efficient, and the cost was less than half of the people who used to service our unit. I stopped using the other service long ago, because I felt that they were overcharging. Pure Flo does not tell you you need filter changes every six months like the other service did. All around a much more honest way of doing business. I will recommend them.

The

employee that came out evaluated the pre-existing water softener that was in my newly-bought house and explained to me in detail everything I needed to do to get it up and running, and test the water on my own. Since then, I've taken those steps, and everything has been working well.

I have a 7 year old water softner that I needed maintenance service on it. They came out and told me that it was not working. The problem was scheduling the visit. I had to follow up with them after purchasing the service to schedule a visit and then the initial visit got cancelled, so I rescheduled for the following week. I was told they would be there at 10 am, but they did not show up till about 12 and I had to call them to find out their location and when they would show up. I work and had to schedule time off both times to be at home and would have appreciated more respect for my time. If they had given me a time frame, then I would have taken the day off and not been expecting them promptly at 10 am. They came and spent less than 10 minutes at my house.

I use this company annually to replenish the acid neutralizer in my system, and more recently to replace copper pipe that was starting to fail. As in previous cases they were on time, competent, fast, and did exactly what they said they were going to do for the quoted price. I have no complaints and will continue to use the company.

Work was completed to satisfaction. They took their time to answer any questions and address any concerns. Even wanted me and my husband to see the process of how the carbon gets cleaned and then replaced. They also tested my water.. Very thorough and professional. Would definitely use again. My only problem was when they were running quite behind I never received a phone call. telling me they would be late. When I shared this with them, they did apologize. Other than this, everything else went exceptionally well. Overall, AN EXCELLENT JOB.

Everything went perfectly.

Dayton Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
made the same recommendations as numerous websites and reviewers. He was very knowledgeable and professional. We gave a deposit and scheduled installation. The usual installer was out suddenly, so
Dayton Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
installed the system himself. After installation, he explained how the system works, what we needed to do and their follow-up service. The system is small and fits perfectly in the location provided when we purchased the home. It took him about two hours to do everything. He cleaned up all materials and debris from the installation. I'm a very happy client.

will call once a month, when their tech is in the area. They will check the system at no charge and add any consumable supplies needed for a nominal fee. The fee is for the supplies only and is slightly higher than I could buy for in a home store, but I would have to get the supplies, test the system and add the supplies myself. For a few more dollars per bag of supplies, I'm happy they'll take the

on themselves, all while insuring the system is functioning optimally, as designed.

Let me start by saying that
Dayton Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
saved me about $3000 by being honest about the state of my water system. I had had a competitor's system installed to address odors when we moved to our house ten years ago, and had fallen a bit behind on maintenance and had never had the carbon unit rebedded (recommended every 5 years or so). I was finally able to afford it, and had the (previous) maintenance company come out to get the process started. They explained that they were trying to move everyone off of the system I have because the technology has improved, the carbon filter was bigger and would last longer between rebeds, and so on, and gave me estimates for "good" (keeping the system but performing the carbon rebed and regular maintenance - $1200), "better" (replacing most of the components of the system - $2700) and "best" (replacing the entire system - $4000). They made it sound pretty convincing that it was worth upgrading, and I was considering it. Then my mom found
Dayton Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
here on Angie's List and suggested I give him a call, just in case he had any better options.
Well!
Dayton Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
returned my call within an hour and offered to drop by right then to take a look at my system. It turned out that was more than familiar with it; he had worked for the competitor for 25 years and actually designed it. (He had even performed the annual maintenance on it at our house one year, too.) He walked me through each and every component to tell me what it did, how it worked, what could go wrong with it and what kind of maintenance it requires, and he explained why the new system the competitor was recommending was not actually going to be an improvement. He said he would be happy to upgrade my system for me too if I really wanted to, but it really only needed the carbon rebedding and $75 in parts to get back in tip-top shape. When I asked about pricing on the carbon rebedding, his quote came in almost $300 less than the competitor's for the exact same thing. I asked him on the spot when he could start.
Dayton Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
didn't have everything he needed in the truck that day (I had only called him for quotes after all, and hadn't even expected a call back until the next day!), but he took care of the
Dayton Water Softener Companies Provider Name Locked
filters and membrane on that visit and set up an appointment a few days later to take care of the rest. On that day he arrived on time (a few minutes early, even) and took care of the rebed and the pump repair. He was professional, courteous, and was even nice enough to answer my 4-year-old son's non-stop questions about what he was doing. He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable with my knowledge of the system and that I knew what to expect from each component in the future. Best of all, I really feel like I got treated fairly. I'm embarrassed that the competitor took advantage of me for so long, but I'm so glad to have found a place I can trust from now on.
