"Made a call to One Guard after hours on a Friday evening. The representative who took my call was very professional and polite and gave me the name of the contractor who would visit" my home. She also checked with me my email address so she could inform me of the same after our phone call. Within three minutes of me hanging up from my phone call with the One Guard Representative, I received an email alert with the information she promised. The next morning a gentleman called me from the contractor's firm arranging a convenient time to complete the repair on that day. Saturday. He told me he would call me when they were and hour from the house and it would be around 5PM. The contractor that One Guard arranged called me about an hour prior to the agreed time and was on time to have my garage door completely fixed with a new motor all for the nominal service fee of $59. One Guard is a one of a kind company with professionally trained representatives to take your call, deliver what they promise and on time all for a low service fee of $59. I have dealt with two other companies since moving to the USA and tell you that One Guard is a company that wants your business and will treat you the way you would want to be treated by a service company. Congratulations One Guard and your professional staff of people. You are remarkable and Outstanding!

"we used
as our home warranty. we have attempted to call in a warranty issue on three separate occasions. each time we have called in the claim, the representative" that we spoke to advised us that our issue would be covered. only to find out after the technician arrived that it was not covered after all, on ALL occasions. the representitives do not know how to read the product that they are selling. after the first incident, which was a roof leak, we asked if we could upgrade our packet to a more comprehensive policy and were told no upgrades were allowed by the customer. what? ok. so we are now out $430 for the year, for a policy that has yet to cover ANY of the issues we faced as new home owners.

"What I liked is that their price is fair for the coverage that they provide. They keep the process of purchasing and renewals very
and clear to the point. The" conditions stated for reimbursements are also very clear and direct. Very prompt in their response. At this point, I have faith in them.

7 components of a good home warranty

Home warranty companies are the number one most complained about category on Angie’s List. If you decide to purchase a warranty, look for the components of a good home warranty before signing the contract.

Home warranties

Year after year home warranty companies have topped the Angie's List most complained about category list, with nearly half of member reports in this category rating these companies unfavorably. The key behind this appears to be an expectations gap between the companies and their clients regarding what is covered and whether service calls on covered items are entirely free.

First, call your insurance company and tell them you do not want any proceeds paid to the contractor under your policy as you are not going with them.  This way they can not collect money on your behalf.  Insurance will typically have you sign a form for release of funds anyway but this is a good extra step to make sure your signature isn't forged.  Second, call the contractor and tell them you will not be needing their services afterall.  Did your husband pay a deposit?  If so it may be non-refundable.  Then follow up with a certified letter.

An email as well doesn't hurt but some states don't yet recognize email as a form of communication for legally binding documentation.  This may have changed and I'm sure more states do recognize them as I haven't followed that topic elsewhere as much as I used to.  The contractor's office should be local.  A sure fire way to ensure they got the message is to deliver the letter to the office of the contractor and have someone at the office sign a duplicate stating it has been recieved and read.  There's no arguing whether they received it or not by doing that.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson about high pressure sales techniques and storm chasers looking for a quick buck.  Some people find out a much harder way.  While these guys may be legitimate you should always do your homework on a contractor before signing the contract.  Unless you have water running out of the house and the work has to be done on the spot it's not so much of an emergency that it can't wait until the next day.

I like that I can add a lot more thing on their warranty plan than just the basic plan. It's like a la cart, you can just add things to it. I like that I have peace of mind. The company is fine.

On October 17 th Friday, the chain on our Liftmaster Garage Door snapped.

I called One Guard at about 3PM the day before.

Within 10 minutes One Guard sent me the full name and contact information by email of the contractor.

At around 7Pm on the Friday evening much to my surprise I received a phone call from the vendor, Advanced Garage Door services advising me about the two 4 hour windows available the following day. I said afternoon and the gentleman said I would be contacted an hour before a serviceman was on his way.

Saturday, rolled around and not only did I get a call one hour before the serviceman would arrive, I received another phone call at mid day from their office confirming we would be home at 5PM.

5Pm rolled around and the serviceman was here right on time as promised.

The repair man fixed my garage door in about 30 minutes and it now runs like new.

One Guard and its service providers are the best available in North America.

Excellent. Technician immediately identified problem and quickly replaced the defective part. Then my remotes were reprogrammed, my keypad set up and even the remote in my car was set up. It took about 20 minutes in total. I was also pleased that the service call was fast; I didn't have to sit around all day waiting. Couldn't be more pleased.

I called the warranty provider and explained the problem with my fridge. They gave me a phone of the local company who could repair it. I called that company and they immediately schedule a visit of the technician. The technician checked the fridge and determined that the thermostat had to be replaced and immediately ordered it. After a week they've got a new part and came over to install it. During the installation a flimsy sensor cover got broke and the technician ordered it right away. After a few days the technician came again and installed new cover within few seconds and everything is working very well. The cost of the repair was $92 but I paid nothing as I was covered by the warranty plan.
I'm very pleased with the provider's service.

Hot water heater broke at night with the water draining out. Started calling Toyal Protect at 9am to find a contractor. Took forever to get thru on the phone. I was told they couldn't find a contractor for my area and would call back within four hours. I never received any call backs. Finally got a plumber on my own and was told I could be reimbursed. When the plumber told them that our area water caused sediment build ups thus making the water heater break, they told me that I didn't have the right policy to cover sediment. I have gotten the run around before with this warranty. They expect you to do all the calling and negotiations but pay them! I'm going to try to fight this but regardless I'm canceling this policy. American Home Shield was much better. Will go back to them.

Nothing has been accomplished in over 30 days. The installed one ice maker that had a visible crack that didn't work. Now we've been waiting for a new one to arrive. The Tech said they would be out today to install it but they never showed up and no answer to multiple calls.

They lied, don't bother to call back, refuse coverage for items that are supposed to be covered. The home had black mold in it when we bought it due to a leak in the bathroom. We didn't know about the leak until about a month after we moved in. When having to get others to fix the problem, it was found that the owner had put 3 layers of floor over it to cover it up, along with several layers of wallpaper. But the house is supposed to be fine when we take possession, which it wasn't. They told me that if they send someone out, we have to pay the service fee, but IF they find black mold, they are instructed to leave immediately, even though they've collected our service fee. What a rip off. No one would do anything about it, and therefore it cost me thousands.
