successfully solved a leakage problem in the rear section of my basement around 9 years ago so when I encountered water leaking into my" storage room in the front of the basement this summer, I immediately called them for an appraisal and solution.
arrived at the promised time, did an inspection, and concluded that I would not need the extensive work (French drain, sump pump, etc.) that had been necessary in the earlier work. He explained that the solution would be better handled by a landscaping company and listed exactly what a landscaper needed to do to solve the problem. As in the past,
was extremely honest in handling my situation and did not try to convince me to do something that was unnecessary. I knew beforehand that they would react this way because that was the experience that I had with them in the past. Back then, they were the only honest and only reasonably priced organization doing this type of work - at least among the few that I had called for estimates and appraisals. I strongly recommend them to anyone in need of the services they provide. One cannot go wrong with them or with
. They are definitely not your usual "run of the mill" waterproofing company but one of the most exceptional companies I have ever dealt with ---- and this includes every type of home service company.

-Sharon B.

"They started on time (despite delays in other projects because of extremely wet weather earlier in the year), and finished on schedule (a major accomplishment considering" the magnitude of the project). They were organized, professional, knowledgeable in all aspects, and hard working. They kept me advised of the goals for the day and answered all my questions honestly and respectfully. They were always on time. I enjoyed having the crew around. The job was done correctly. Did it right versus quickly. At the end of the day they cleaned up any messes and made sure any equipment was not in our way. At the end of the project they helped put my things back in place in the basement, and cleaned up all debris. They finished the outside by bringing in topsoil and planting grass seed. As the customer they always put me first. If they had questions they asked rather than assumed. They made sure I understood what was happening at each step along the way. I highly recommend

Angie's Answers

Mold in a basement is a common problem. My company helps people with this every day. Some of the answers you received were helpful but not all the information is correct. First, you need to eliminate the two main ingrediants that mold needs to survive. The first one is water intrusion. This is a must. I am assuming you have no water intrusion as you make no mention. The second componant that needs to be eliminated is moisture. Moisture is also humidity. Basements need to be kept airtight in the summer months. Some folks have posted that you need air flow in your basement. Nothing could be furthur from the truth. When you open any windows for example, not one micron of air goes out of the basement, Warm humid air is sucked into the basement. Houses suck air into the basement and it meets the cool surfaces and skyrockets humidity. The windows must be kept closed and a dehumidification device installed to ensure humidity stays below 60% humidity. The dehumidifier should be energy star rated and purchasing a seperate humidity guage is a must to monitor the unit's progress. We like to keep our customer's basements at 50% humidity. This eliminates the smell that is active mold spore growth. Once the water and humidity is brought under control. Remove the organic materials that have mold on them. Walls, sheetrock and studs that have been affected. Follow the advice of previous posts as you must ensure that you do not affect the rest of the home. Once removed, install new walls using as much inorganic material as possible. We also install vapor barrier over the walls and seal the floors to stopwater vapor transmission into the basement. Poly plastic is not a acceptable vapor barrier. It is not "zero-perm" and will still allow moisture transmission. It will also crack and break into pieces over the years. A PVC liner rated "zero-perm" is the correct product in this application. Depending how large the basement is and if it is sectioned off will determine the dehumidifier strength. We use the Santa Fe line of dehidifiers as they are super energy efficiant and work like a dehumidifier on steriods. I hope this helps and I wish you the best in Basement Health!

Where is the home located, what is the exterior wall construction and type, how is the space heated?

It could be a whole host of different scenarios that would generate that result.  It is nearly impossible to tell but I would say that most basement moisture problems are a result of bulk moisture intrusion or condensation issues.

Given the deep and hard winter this year, it could be a condensation issue that hadn't previously been shown.

We called
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
in because we found water seeping into a small closest area and a bedroom in our finished basement. We removed some drywall and found a large 8 foot crack (ceiling to floor). This crack looked to have been filled with caulking.
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
came in and did their crack injection. They were very good and quick. We haven't seen water come in since and it has rained serveral times (heavy rain).

I had estimates from two companies that immediately said I needed to get an Interior Waterproofing System costing thousands of dollars. Since I was getting a stream of water each time it rained, I was desperate to get my basement waterproofed. I was ready to settle on one company. Their estimate was ($5500) which included digging a well around the basement perimeter and adding a sump pump.
I saw Waterproofing for Less on Angie's List and called Mr.
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
. He was a no-show-no call on the initial appointment which
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
me to tell him not to bother to come again. He was, however, quick to apologize for doing that and agreed to come the next day After assessing my situation, he told me I didn't need the 'System' those companies were offering me, and that he could remedy my situation.
Given the low cost I was very skeptical. Needless to say, I am VERY PLEASED with the results. I’ve been holding off doing this review to see if I got any future leaks. So far, I HAVEN'T. A normal rain would often result in puddles of water. Of late, Chicao has had some torrential rains yet my basement is still dry. I am VERY pleased with the work, and I'm happy I did not pay the $5500 I was going to pay to one company.
- Arlinel W.

I decided not to have the service done because I decided to go elsewhere, however I was very pleased with the professionalism and quick response this company gave when addressing my issue
- Arlinel W.

Came to the house and did a quick inspection. It took like 10 minutes for him to look around. Really a deep inspection of the basement and foundation....
Then he began to talk about all the issues and how they could fix them. Most waterproofing companies do this, I understand. They are trying to sell you their services and products and try to convince you that you need it and they will give you the best service compared to competitors.
The thing that irked me the most was the salesman was pushy when I said 'no' to his offer becuase it was very expensive and I could not pay that much. I was also on a tight schedule and had said so in the beginning. I had to be somewhere in an hour and I had talked to the person on the phone and explained that. But the salesman was upset I had to leave when I said 'no' and politely told him I had to get going. At that point is when he automatically lowered the price he originally qouted. Funny how those sales tactics work. When I again said no, he tried to give me an even lower price for part of the work and talked about financing. I said 'no thank you' and again said I had to get going. He then was visibly upset and tried to convince me to talk to him for 5 more minutes. I had gotten the information I needed and clearly he just wanted to make the sale but come on. I said 'no' three times and I was already not happy that they clearly try to gouge the customer for as much money as they can get, if you say 'no' the first time they'll go down, etc. SO this kind of car salesmanship bothers me and I know I"m not the only one. Just give me the best price right away. I have talked to numerous Waterproofing companies in the area and can tell you the ones that just give you their price straight away and don't PLAY these kinds of games. I'm not buying a car and it just feels like they are trying to cheat you out of your money or for as much money as they can.
Be sure to do your research and assess if you really need a drain system and sump pump. There are other ways to fix the problem and if you find there is not, be sure to shop around for companies. They are a dime a dozen and some are just trying to sell their products and services for a lot more $$ than it's worth.

missed there first appointment when I took a day off work for them to come out. My grandparents also came down from Kokomo for the day so they wasted their time and gas for them to not show up too. So it didn't go well from the very beginning. I choose
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
because I heard such good things about them. They told me if I have any water in my basement, they would take care of it as I would have a warranty on the waterproofing. They told me I have a different foundation but didn't consult with me when they did a difference process for the waterproofing then I was originally told. After the work was finished they didn't plug in the sub pump so we had water in our basement right after the waterproofing was finished! Scheduling that was a hassle, and my husband had to take a half day off work to be there when the cleaned up the water. Water was still coming in from some cracks they didn't think were deep enough or something to cause any water to coming. They did come back to fix that but now I'm having problems with the drain that then covered in cement. They wanted to charge me a service fee to come out and look at the drain that they covered in cement. Now we have to have a plumber come out and fix the drain, he's still hasn't given me an estimate on fixing it but it might be expensive. I really would like them to fix these issues and they don't seem to be concerned about water coming into my basement after they got paid for installing waterproofing!
- Ashley G.

Well it was a little rocky at first they had to cut into the neighbors cement but I was unable to get ahold of the owner because he rented the property and I had no phone number for him. When he finally contacted me he required some documents before he gave permission to cut his cement. However my salesman didn't seem to want to return my several phone calls. But When I got ahold of
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
English (one of the bosses) he did contact me and we got the paper work the owner requested and then the job started on August 12, 2015 and because it was more to do to fix it the right way it took an extra day which they did tell me that it could be two or three days depending on what they find. They cut into the cement, they dug down the side of my house, they replaced wood on my building and they rebuilt the wall from the outside. They put this (membrane) Waterproofing stuff on my house, They put a French drain in, they filled it up with gravel and then they put new cement in the hole. They also sprayed my small section in my basement for mildew. I think they did an excellent job. Thank You Little

for your hard work. Thank You
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
for your help as well. The only negative would be that the saleman should be a little more knowledgeable when it comes to what needs to be done. The Salesman Giulio told me that they would replace my floor boards that got damaged from the rain, but they didn't do that. I talked to one of the workers and they said that they put enough wood to rebuild my floor that I didn't need to worry my floor was now stable. So I'm sure that the salesman probably added it into my estimate but I didn't say anything to
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
since they had no intension on replacing part of my wall with no extra charge which I did appreciate. I was worried that the workers told me that
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
had to come and look at my wall. I was so worried it would cost me more but he came and no extra charge. So Thank You to all that worked on my job. I would recommend them to anyone that needs this type of work done. I thought it was a bit expensive but I had no idea on how much this type of work cost. I had 4 different companies come out first I had a waterproofing company they told me I needed a contractor then I got a contractor he told me that is a job for waterproofing company, so I called one more and they didn't know how to fix it he said I know how to fix but my guys do not. So then I called
Troy Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and they were the only one that said they could fix it and knew how to do it so I looked no further. I just trusted the comments on Angie's List. They cleared up every day after they worked on my house.

It was informative and very thorough. Recommendations were made, but we did not feel pressured to buy anything beyond the service we purchased through Angie's List. We will follow up with the recommendations and we would definitely use this service gain.

TERRIBLE!!!! We had Will from aquaquard come out for an assessment of our foundation. We were going to do a total remodel of our home. We had some major settling issues and knew we could not invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in the work without first addressing the foundation. Will appeared to be extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He told us what we needed to make our foundation structurally sound before beginning renovations. After the crew dug the footings my husband went under our house to see what they had done. It was noted at that point there were not enough footings to support the house. We called Will from aquaquard who came back out to reevaluate the situation. It was then the situation began to deteriorate. More footings needed to be installed but would cost thousands of dollars more!!! I had serious concerns that this was a bait and switch scenerio. We were assured that was not the case and given a 10% discount. Folks, at this point we were into this about 20,000 dollars. Aquardguad returned with their cement truck to pour the footings. They did not finish until 11:00 pm. One of the workers asked if they could wash out their cement truck . I agreed as long as they dumped the debris in the woods away from the driveway.Well the next day we went outside and our asphalt driveway had concert dumped all the way down it. Our driveway is long. It was a mess!!! In addition, they had dumped large piles of concrete beside the driveway in three different areas. Once again we called Will with aquaquard . We took pictures and sent those to him. He said someone would be out to clean up the mess. Two weeks later a worker showed up with a pressure washer and tried to remove concrete that had been sitting on the driveway for two weeks. We withheld $2,000 of our final payment. I wished it would have been more. We have to pay to reseal the driveway. It gets worse. When construction on our home began a structural engineer came out per the contractors request and said the foundation still needed more supports another $15-$20 thousand dollars of foundation work from the contractor!! We never heard another word from aquaquard about our driveway or the money we withheld. Writing about our experience brings back painful memories. I wonder if I can

aquaquard for PTSD? In retrospect we would have been better off letting the contractor do the work. He utilized a structural engineer and fixed the foundation.
