's estimate was lower than the others. He did an excellent professional job. He arrived on time for the jobs and the work went smoothly. I would hire him again. In fact, I did hire him again to refinish an existing stairwell to the lower level.

were very professional from the start. They started very early in the morning and had to work in a 4 foot basement with entry-way from outside the home. They did everything they said was needed to be done and went beyond that to find other areas in my basement where water was coming in from and no other company nor an engineer from my insurance company found in their inspections. They did this with no increase in the price. I CANT EXPRESS ENOUGH HOW THIS COMPANY PERFORMS THEIR WORK AND BEYOND LIKE NO ONE THAT HAS EVER WORKED IN MY HOME. THEY ARE TRUE PROFESSIONALS - THEY DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO AND IF THEY FIND OTHER PROBLEMS THEY DO THAT TO. IT SAYS ALOT WHEN THEY TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT AND PERFORM THEIR JOB LIKE IT WAS FAMILY LOOKING OUT FOR YOU. I JOINED ANGIES' LIST TO FIND A MASON AND FINDING THEM WAS WORTH MORE THEN THE FEE OF MEMBERSHIP. I WILL ALWAYS HAVE THEM DO WORK FOR ME THAT IS IS THE REALM OF THEIR SCOPE OF WORK AND REFER ANYONE TO THEM. don't HESITATE TO CALL THEM YOU WON'T BE SORRY. THERE THE BEST!!!!!!!!"

is very trustworthy and did a very good job for us. His foundation team was very professional and I was very happy with their work.

I requested some carpentry work to connect the new foundation with the existing walls and replace the floor joists. Kinetic subcontracted this job out to a carpenter. I was not happy with his work and he was very creepy and unprofessional. He smoked inside our house (we are not smokers) and creeped my wife out to the point that she came home and left immediately upon meeting him.

I would recommend Kinetic highly for their basement and masonry work.

and his team are excellent. I would not have them contract anything out though. Find another contractor on Angie's List.
"Excellent, quick response with an estimate, work was started and completed within estimated timeline.
No down payment, paid upon work completion."
"Rik was very responsive and willing to answer any questions. They showed up on time and completed the work within one day. The walkway looks great and is very solid."
"Contacted owner Rik

by phone. Returned call that evening and inspected wall a day later. Performed work the following week due to an opening in his schedule. Worked three days from about 6:30 AM (by arrangement) until about 11 AM due to extreme heat (90-100 F) that week. Team worked together like a ballet

. Rik clearly explained the work to be done (there was a written contract) and responded to any concerns and suggestions I had. Cleanup was thorough.
"After weeks of consideration and review the overall work is satisfactory at best. During the evaluation/estimate phase of the proposed work
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
(the owner) described the work that needed to be performed. Most noteworthy was that he was not going to use "concrete" to repair the deteriorated corners on the front steps, but he was going to use the same polymers used for bridge repairs. Following his description of the work to be performed and quoted price ($1,700 Fair) I decided to hire

's company. A few days later
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
dropped off an unsigned proposal with a brief description of the work to be performed. At this point I should have "cut and run", but decided to proceed on because I really wanted my steps fixed. After discussing the proposal with
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the proposal was discarded and the work was going to be performed without a contract. On 5/31/2013
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew showed up early to do the work. It was going to be a hot day and they wanted to start early. As soon as they unloaded their materials for the job I noticed that they were going to use a "concrete" mixture for the work. It was a Quikrete "cement" suitable for repairing broken edges on steps, but not the polymers promised.
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
stated that this would work well. The work began at approximately 7:00 AM and was finished before noon. The quality of work performed by the crew was good except for the gentleman doing the work on the steps. He apparently is used by
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
when Masonry work like this needs to be performed. The end product was fair at best. His finish work was not professionally done. There were uneven surfaces that needed supplemental attention.
Since May 31st I have had to refinish areas of the front steps to make them presentable and repair minor cracks. Other cracks have also appeared on the foundation that has been repaired.
Normally, I would have contacted the contractor (
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
) to discuss these issues, but I believe that would have been futile. If it were some minor touch up that needed to be performed I would have, but not in this case. The most disappointing thing was that
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
said that he was going to use polymers instead of concrete and he didn't. It shows!

Overall, get a detailed signed contract prior to work. Do not accept a verbal agreement no matter hoW pleasant he appears.
Final note.

's crew, except the subpar mason were the greatest. They were extremely pleasant and professional and willing to please. To them, THANK YOU.
"Very surprised with the experience I had with this company after reading the reviews. Called to get estimates for 2 jobs at my home. Left my info with the woman in the office and was told I would be contacted to set up an appointment. 2 days later
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
called. It just happened that he called as I was heading to a meeting at the office, so I asked him to call me back in a couple of hours. No return call until the next day. I described the work that needed to be done, and
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
told me they could perform the work. He asked when would be a good time to meet and I asked if we could meet late in the day. He said he happened to be doing a job near my home and he could stop by later that day. I agreed and asked him to call back when he was finishing up the other job. That was a week ago. No call. Very unprofessional!
"Rik gave us a competitive quote last year, but we were unable to have the work done. When we called him back this year he came to assess the work the next day and agreed to complete the work the following week. His crew was at the house on the agreed upon day at 7:00 AM and completed the work over the next several days, with Rik there every day to oversee the work being done. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The old walk was taken out and the new walk, with a handicapped ramp to replace steps at the driveway, was completed beautifully. The original steps were rolled back and new concrete poured to even them out and raise them back up to their original level. I would recommend Rik and his crew to anyone needing concrete or custom masonry work. He gets a well deserved A+.

provided us with a written estimate for the scope of work requested along with an insurance certificate with appropriate coverages. Once approved Mr.
Schenectady Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
acquired the necessary demolition permit from the local municipality and began work the following day.
Beginning at 7:00 AM, the work itself took less than 8 hours to complete from the inital swipe with the backhoe to the final sweep of the broom. (I actually couldn't find one nail in the driveway after his crew left the site.)
There were no unforeseen issues or change orders during the course of the work. As a matter of fact, since I helped load the truck with the demo'd garage, we were actually invoiced less than the original quote provided by the contractor.
All in all, it was a very good project, completed in a timely, neat and professional manner.
I would highly recommend

to any homeowner considering using a General Contractor in the Capital District area of NY.
