Rhinebeck Wood Flooring Experts Reviews

"The complete job took about 10 days, with the workers being here every other day to allow coats to dry in between. Sanding of the floors went very fast. They were extremely neat and clean. They hung plastic sheeting over the doorways to keep dust from leaving the room and used a sander that had a vacuum attachment to suck up dust before it spread around the room. The stain application went very fast. Overall, the sanding and staining took about 2-1/2 hours.
The first coat of polyurethane looked pretty good. That was followed by light sanding 2 days later and a second coat of polyurethane. This second sanding and poly took about 1 hour, as did the subsequent coats.
The second coat developed many pin-point size bubbles as it dried. The next round of sanding removed the bubbles, but then the third coat also developed many bubbles. This was supposed to be the final coat, but I was unhappy with all the bubbles since they were very visible.
I talked with the owner and he came himself to have a look and agreed that it wasn't satisfactory. He sanded again and applied a fourth coat which was a huge improvement. I can't say it was absolutely 100% perfect, but you'd have to look very, very closely to see any defects.
The owner followed up with a phone call several days later to make sure I was satisfied.
The stain and polyurethane smell somewhat, but nowhere near as bad as the old oil-based materials. If you are sensitive to odors, I would recommend doing this in warmer weather when you can open windows in the rest of the house (although not in the room that is being refinished).
The refinished floor is a huge improvement over what it looked like before.

"This is the third house we've restored in 10 years. It is a turn of the century

in a historic area with very intricately laid oak floors. The floors had never been finished so we wanted somebody who could appreciate the beauty of 100-year-old wood but still put a durable, modern finish on them. After talking to

we felt he was the right fit for the job. We were beyond impressed with both the level of his finish work and how easy it was to communicate to him what we wanted. We had to match the finish of the floors to the oak baseboard trim, and

's patience as he experimented with the colors was amazing. The boards are laid in an intricate pattern in our parlors and he was able to sand them carefully with respect for the original layout. He refinished the entire house (about 3000 sq ft) in the estimated time and it looks beautiful.

. This isn't our first rodeo, so we know the difference between the guys who smile at you while they do hack work and a real professional.

is a professional. We will be using him soon as we refinish our kitchen floor that was buried under two layers of tile and linoleum. I always tell people to get three estimates before they get any work done, but be sure one of those estimates comes from
