"Bill is very professional. He not only took the time to place tarps on my rugs to make sure they stayed cleaned, he also educated me in certain items that may need" checked next year during a cleaning. He could have easily tried to talk me into these fixes but he showed me that next year it is a possibility that it will need replacing. He even gave me an estimate on the cost. I highly recommend Bill & his company. He is a true professional & my two small Yorkies didn't bother him at all...a true dog lover.

"
was one of 4 contractor bids we received, and after meeting
and discussing our needs, it was clear we" would contract with him to do the work. We are completely satisfied with our decision to do so.
, after first listening with understanding to our vision for the bathroom, was forthcoming with ideas as to how to keep costs down yet still have a favorable outcome.
was dead on with his bid and time frame. With his conscientious approach, can do attitude, and good people working for him, he replaced everything in the bathroom i.e. flooring, sink, shower, toilet, cabinet, lights, fixtures and fan, along with painting. We trusted his selection regarding fixtures and are happy we did. He also took out a wall which housed plumbing and electrical which then required rerouting of both. We did have one ‘unknown’ regarding the condition of the outside wall, behind our 6 foot vanity. There had been a water leak and we did not know whether or not we would have additional repair issues.
was very up front, sharing that, until the vanity was removed, he didn’t know what repairs might be necessary, if any. He did give us basic cost estimates and the type of damage he might find, and fortunately the damage was minimal. While working our project, our home was left clean and picked up each day.
was responsive to our calls and let us know before we hired him, that he usually returns calls during the evening, as he is most likely on a job.
is an easy going pleasant person, with a ‘can do’ approach who knows what he’s doing. He was on top of all the details to ensure a lovely outcome. Our bathroom turned out beautifully, right on deadline with no
costs. We proudly show it off!

Fireplaces

Most people enjoy sitting in front of a fire on a cold day, but traditional, wood-burning fireplaces come with a few disadvantages. They tend to waste energy, require maintenance and pose some risk. Read this guide to discover several alternatives that provide the same ambiance, but with fewer downsides.

Dear Angie: How much can I expect to pay to have my wood fireplace converted to gas? Our house is about 30 years old. The bottom of the fireplace looks like it's easily accessed through the basement. The conversion would involve running 30 to 50 feet of gas line. — Thomas M., Cincinnati, Ohio

He hasn't legally abandoned the job as long as he is still showing up and doing something, even if it is very little, from time to time.  You'll have to fire him first.  Have documentation that the job is not being done in a timely manner, showing when he has and has not worked.  Be ready for a fight and probably a legal battle since he will likely still want more money or won't refund money paid for incomplete work.

Change the locks and inform the contractor their services on your property are terminated.  Tell him if anyone representing his company enters your property they will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted.  Then hire another company to check the work he has done to make sure it is right.  Somehow I doubt it is given the nature of his work ethic.  Then have the new contractor repair any bad workmanship and finish the job.  Keep records as any documented things that have to be redone will help your case against the first contractor.

I would recommend finding a good hearth retailer in your area and work with them to select a stove that is right for your home. They should also be able to arrange for certified installer to handle the installation. Keep in mind many areas require a city or county permit for the installation, and it may be wise to have the chimney and fireplace inspected by a certified chimney sweep beforehand.

Great experience working with the guys in LongBranch. The experience in the showroom was very good. The estimation process was professional. The installation went very well. Attention to detail, neat, timely, quick, friendly. High degree of craftsmanship.
The size/output of the unit was perfect for the room--nice and warm on cold nights, but not overwhelming blast of heat.
They marble/oak surround looks great.
I've had them back for annual maintenance.
Very satisfied and recommend them with confidence.

They were friendly and knowledgeable. Communication with them was easy; we mostly did it with the internet. They came
when they said they would, and were dependable. We are very happy with the fan as well; the original fireplace did not have one.

Our salesperson quit shortly after the sale, but information was not thorough. Installation went fairly smooth, but the chimney they left was hideous with pipes of various lengths sticking out a stone chimney.

The initial contact was wonderful. They came out and evaluated the existing fireplace, determined what would be needed, went over options for logs, remotes etc. They also looked at another fireplace in our home and determined we could simply add a remote, at this time, when we were thinking we needed an entire fireplace replacement like our main floor see through fireplace Their honesty was so professional, sincere and appreciated. The fireplace until arrived within a few weeks. They were very accommodating with scheduling as well as very neat when removing the old fireplace. It was just great doing business with them. From start to finish it was a refreshing change from what unfortunately has become the new normal when doing home projects. Kudos to

Although we decided against purchasing retractable shades due to the number of windows and the expense, we highly recommend this company.
Red Hook Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a great guy as well as a true professional, low key but very thorough. He explained what would be done clearly and came with samples and brochures so that we could get a good idea about what we would be purchasing. We enjoyed talking to him and would have hired him in a heartbeat if we had decided to purchase retractable shades.
