"Look no further,
is the one to go with. Very professional, reliable, and punctual. Thank you
, our floors look" fantastic! We had a timeframe to complete the job and
made sure he finished several days ahead of schedule!! We bought the flooring that
represented and we are very happy we did.
even followed up with a phone call a week later to make sure we were happy....and of course we are! No brainer, call him...you'll be very glad you did!

"I worked with
for my purchase. I came to his store after visiting two other carpet companies. I told him exactly what I was looking for and" how much I wanted to pay. He did not haggle me or tell me he couldn't give me what I wanted, like the people at local competitors did. He agreed to the pricing and services that beat all of his competitors, with no problem. In addition to removing and disposing of the old, soiled carpet, pad, and tack strip from the rooms in which he was to install carpeting, he agreed to remove the carpet, padding, and tack strip from rooms in which he was not going to be installing carpet (we are getting wood installed by someone else), at no additional charge. While we were painting the house, we realized all of the flooring had cat urine damage from the previous owners and we needed to apply Kilz oil-based primer after removing the carpet, padding, and tack strip, but before installing the new carpet. As the removal and install is usually done at the same time, this posed a huge problem for us.
went out of his way to have a man come remove everything on Wednesday and install the carpet on Thursday. This gave us time to seal the floors and remove the odors. The installation went pretty smoothly and the job was done within 7 hours (installing tack strip, padding, and carpet in our huge house), which was hours sooner than they expected. They had four men working to get it done quickly. All of this took place the day after a huge snow storm, which didn't cause this company to skip a beat! The installers were also very pleasant and courteous. The floors look and feel AMAZING! I absolutely love my new carpet and have already had several compliments from friends. The only issue I noted was that the installers scraped up my freshly painted wall trim throughout the 2nd floor which caused the paint to peel off pretty badly, but realistically, it is hard to maneuver large pieces of carpet around hallways so I am not surprised and do not blame them for the damage. I am extremely happy with the professionalism and customer service I received from
and his installers. You can tell he truly cares about his customers and wants people to be happy. I would highly recommend using
for any carpet purchase!

Wood floor alternatives

Consumers have many choices beyond traditional hardwood floors, including wood laminate and renewable sources such as bamboo, cork and even leather. Some alternatives look virtually the same as hardwoods.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
?
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

I contacted
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's by telephone and spoke with Mrs.
(Marsheine)
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and we discussed the Balterio brand laminate. Mrs.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked

was very informative and in addition, explained the procedure of how Mr. (
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
)
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
would come to our home and provide a free in-home estimate should we
chose. Mrs.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
left the impression of a long standing mom and pop
owner-operated business who took pride in their work. We would soon learn that
both she and Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
were well polished salespeople but not much for
installation and follow through.

After Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
had visited our home, Mrs.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked

contacted me the next day Thursday, January 15th and verbally gave
me the breakdown of the cost estimate with the Great Room total being $3414.93
and the Guest Bedroom came in at $1234.05. I told Mrs.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
I would update
my wife on the cost and would get back with them thereafter. I called
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Center back the following day, Friday,
January 16th. Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
answered the phone, and I reminded him
that I was not as convinced as my wife of replacing our carpet with laminate. I
made a commitment to her that if
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Center
would install only the Guest Bedroom and, we would give it a month and if all
worked out well, I would go along with completing
the Great Room too. Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
agreed
to install the Guest Bedroom only and then the Great Room at a later date if
all went well. Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
stated he would need a deposit down and I authorized
$600 to a credit card for the deposit. Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
assured me he would mail me
a copy of the proposal and deposit in writing. Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
never did mail the
proposal with deposit receipt, but rather, sent it with his installation crew.
The workers arrived at 11am and left the premises at 1:15pm,
a total of two hours and 15-minutes to unpack, install the padding, laminate,
molding and pack-up. When we looked into the room we were horrified at what we
saw. Nothing looked professional, the planks were not symmetrically laid with
several joints being within an inch of the baseboard (see photos #2 & #3);
the shoe molding had been cut off square with no effort to install along the
vertical trim (see photo #4); there was no transition piece from the laminate
to the carpet at the closet door (see photo #5); the T-Molding of the entrance
door had not been fitted correctly and there were gaps at both door jams (see
photo #6); and lastly, there was a joint in the middle of the door of the first
plank when entering the room; this is a definite no, no per the Balterio
manufacturers installation guide. Incidentally, it was very cold outside on
installation day with very gusty winds and I offered
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
a stall of our garage
to set up his saw for cutting. I knew there would be sawdust on the floor but
what I did not know is laminate does not leave sawdust as if cutting a piece of
wood, but rather, a fine dust which floats through the air like
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
, you
can't even imagine the mess throughout everything stored on the shelves of our
garage. Yes, I offered but I fault
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
for taking up the offer being fully
aware of what his laminate dust was like. This was an awful mess to try and
clean up! The effort is ongoing.

On Thursday, February 5th, 3-days after
installation my wife and I visited
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Center and I carried
into scheduled meeting one of three planks that had been ruined by
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
so that
the
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's could personally see. Both
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and Marsheine
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
were
present. We not only stated how "schlock" the installation visually
looked, I then outlined the concerns I had for warranty per the Balterio
manufacturers installation guidelines (see photo #7). At one time when my wife
was discussing her displeasure of seeing a joint just ¾ inches from the
baseboard Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
flippantly replied, we sell rugs too. In the end, all the
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's were willing to do is return to make an attempt to adjust the square
end of the shoe molding, replace the T-Molding and write us up a personal
warranty. He flatly refused to take up and correctly
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
the planks that looked
cobbled up where they met the walls. Yes, our blood pressure went up. We agreed
to Tuesday, February 17th as the day to retro fit the T-Molding and
shoe molding. It was that or nothing at all.
The crew was a no-show on February 17th with no
phone call and could not be reached. On Friday, February 20th
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked

Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
arrived at the appointed time with
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
(the installer) and the helper
he had at the time of initial estimate in tow. The retro fit of the shoe
molding was completed and the T-Molding replaced. Mr.
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
did hand me a
personally written full installation warranty by
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
's
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Center
signed by him which both I and my wife feel is worthless. In conclusion, be
sure to look at the last two photo which is how the installer left the
T-Molding (glue has oozed out the entire length of the T-Molding).

Vahe is professional, knowledgeable, polite, courteous and very skilled. He and his helper arrived exactly on time each day and they left the work areas clean and tidy each night. We have future flooring projects planned and we will definitely hire Vahe for them all. Our hardwood flooring project came out better than we imagined and
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
has earned my highest recommendation.
He removed and hauled away carpeting and linoleum from the living room, kitchen and dining room plus 2 stairways and 2 hallways. It was all done so fast! Then he installed our hardwood flooring (we provided the flooring so the cost of service above is for labor) and replaced all the baseboards. The results are stunning! The entire experience from the first phone call to when he drove away after the project was complete was wonderful and simply could not have gone any better. We felt like we were working with a long-time friend, not a hired contractor.
In short, the work was done to the highest standard by people we enjoyed welcoming into our home and we feel like we received the best possible value and service. Thank you Vahe! You are the best!

It went well. They were running late due to the snow, but call ahead to let us know and arrived when they said they would. They brought 3 guys for the job, which seemed excessive, but still fell within the 3 hours requested. Good job overall.

Working with
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Oneonta Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was very enjoyable. Not only were they very professional and offered great professional advise, but they were also very personable. They worked with us in meeting our time restraints, and got the job completed before schedule! Their follow up was also exceptional. I would and have recommended them to others. Not only do they make the choir of shopping for flooring more convenient, but also enjoyable. With the mobile showroom, it allows you to view the flooring in your own setting, with your lighting so that you can get a more accurate perception of what the flooring will look like. Their knowledge of the product was also good and they were able to answer our questions or find the answers for us. Thanks

THE INSTALLATION APPEARED TO GO FINE. MY MOTHERS REFRIGERATOR BROKE AND THE REPAIRMAN PULLED IT OUT WITHOUT USING A DOLLY AND RIPPED THE FLOORING. I CALLED HERITAGE TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING HE COULD DO. HE CAME OUT AND LOOKED AT IT BUT NEVER CALLED ME BACK. RECENTLY, THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL SPOTS LIFTING ALL OVER THE FLOOR LIKE THE GLUE DID NOT ADHERE TO THE VINYL. I HAVE CALLED HIM THREE TIMES AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK. MY MOTHER IS 83 AND THESE SPOTS COULD BE A POTENTIAL FALL RISK. I NEVER ARGUED WITH HIM ABOUT THE PRICE AND I PAID HIM IMMEDIATELY UPON COMPLETION. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY SAID IT SOUNDS LIKE AN INSTALLATION PROBLEM. IF HE DIDN'T INSTALL IT PROPERLY HE NEEDS TO FIX IT. IT IS ONLY 1 YEAR OLD!
