All work was completed in accordance with the written proposal. Contractor was punctual and completed all work in a timely manner. Any potential or unforeseeable problems which might require a change order were discussed prior to acceptance of the proposal. Contractor kept me informed throughout the project.
This contractor has also performed other work for me from chimney repair to a total remodeling of bathrooms and repair work as well as design and painting work.

Initially, the crews showed up daily, and Mr.
was easily reachable. This lasted about 10 days. Suddenly no workers would show up for days. When workers would show up, no progress was being made. There was about 6 days of rain in the first two weeks, but there were several projects to be completed indoors. An excavator, which were told we were paying for at the price of 300/week2c sat in our yard for over 5 weeks, not being used. There was not one project completed to the end. Mr.
told me the two windows he replaced cost $380 each. He refused to show me a receipt. The same windows at Lowes were $160 each. When I called to complain about the work not getting completed(he told us 8 weeks to completion), Mr.
sent some workers out to start our HVAC duct work(this was about 6 weeks after start of the job). The HVAC company we were buying the unit from came to inspect it and told us it was done in a manner in which it could not be used(Mr
had assured me he had done duct work in the past). We had to stop that project midway because we needed a WORKABLE duct system, as Mr
had already removed our previous heating system. Mr
told us at this point he had "returned" the windows(for unknown reasons) and could not produce receipts for any materials in our home. He did send us an email stating the prices for each job, which had no details of labor, material, etc. We were told by his employees that most of the materials that he had been using for our home had been removed from a job in Canandaigua that he was concurrently working on. Once we explained our position to Mr
, we told him we would like to sit down with him and discuss how much (with receipts) he felt he had spent on our home up to this point(remember none of the jobs were completed, many were not started), he disappeared. We have not been able to reach Mr
by phone or email. We were also approached by a subcontractor Mr
had hired, that the gentleman had not received payment. To this day, that subcontractor has not received payment in full, and we are now liable for the payment to avoid a Mechanics Lean against our home. We only have half of our siding painted, and several areas do not even have siding. We have called in a new plumber, who had to tear out all of the plumbing performed by Mr
and his crew, and have it replaced. The plumbing was not done to code. We found out last week, when the plumber came, that the proper permit had not been obtained. All work was done illegally. Upon investigation, we found NO PERMITS HAD BEEN OBTAINED. Mr
is now facing criminal charges for performing these jobs on our home without proper permits. Per our contract, Mr
was to obtain all necessary permits. The electrical work also did not pass inspection, and will have to be redone. We had no permit for building the new foundation(which is completed thanks to the subcontractor mentioned above), and also for the interior work being performed. We are meeting with several code enforcement officials to correct all of this and to pursue legal action. Mr
also did not deposit our payments into an escrow account, as state law requires. The money was deposited into a bank account, so now we have to testify for the State Attorney General's office regarding the payments, and will have to file a lawsuit to get any of our money back. Mr
, in my opinion, is a con artist and I recommend you find another contractor. I only hired Mr.
because of his glowing reviews on this site, but be wary. While this site may not reflect it, several other customers are in the same position we are. There is also a Better Business Bureau complaint that reflects the same type of behavior and lack of professionalism. Mr.
said very ugly things about some of his customers while he was in our home. His workers were not profession(with the exception of one). I fully expect Mr.
to debate this review. If that happens, I will follow up with all of the legal documentation we have acquired, as well as photos.
