"The service was great but I was informed I could only use this coupon for first time customers and I wasn't a first time customer. So I wanted to get a refund so I could pay him the proper fee.

"I called about dryer that was making a lot of noise.
, the owner of
Appliance Repair, came out and took a look at it and said that it" needed a pulley on the motor as the current one is worn. He did not have one on hand, but did a temporary fix to quiet it down.
, then, assured me he would order the part and gave me expectiations until then. It took about 2 weeks for the part to come.
called one day and came right over to install the part.
has fixed my ice maker, my washer, my dishwasher and he is very good. Very personable, very quick to diagnose the problem. With our dishwasher, he said the only problem we are having is the use of too much soap. He recommended different soap and amount to use. Well worth his service charge, because his is advice is great!
listens to our needs and goes above and beyond. Very quick to respond, accomodates to schedules well, and a good person to have in your home. Very reasonable price for a washer and dryer overhaul. He is a one man shop!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

I have never seen one of this type that does not exit the house. You would not want the grease dumping into your basement, even with a filter it will happen.

The greater part of your job will be carpentry as if there is a wall behind the stove a hole will have to be cut up through the basement into the wall up to the stove. Unless it is one of the stoves that allows for it to fit inside a cabinet below. To answer correctly most here would be a picture of where this project is being done. I have done motorized ones that extend up out of the counter when in use and then retract. Those exit through the cabinet and require the cook top is to the front of the counter and not a drop in one

As an added note these tend to be better as they do not pull the heat away from the stove top when in use as much as the ones flush with the stove. I have install quite a few and happen to have an Amana cook top with built in down draft and I have to shut it of to get water to boil on the back burners.

A carpenter will know what can be cut and what not in the basement, a sheet metal contractor should know as well but at the other end for the finish by the stove they might not. Most carpenters that do kitchens have installed the minimal amount of duct work for this. They just have to be carefull with the number of ellbows and the lenght of the duct.

I had much higher hopes for Abacus then they did. They are efficient, but they sell a contract that is supposed to give you better service, and priority if something is wrong. What they don't tell you, that when they come out depends on scheduling. I had emergency plumbing, and couldn't count on them, which I thought I could because of the special contract, and so I had to go to somebody else. Lesson be learned, you need to read the contract closer, or you need to understand that the priority list is not for an emergency. The people who came were very clean, friendly, on time, and they called, but I wouldn't rate them at the top of the list. We had a problem with the back up on the air conditioner, and it flooded, so I needed somebody pretty quickly. I don't think they were the least expensive, but they were very quality, so I bought the contract. I bought the contract for air conditioning, and plumbing. It covers all of the AC, plumbing and heating. The price was fair, but I work in a company where we are not the cheapest, so I value proposition for quality and redemption of quality. I saw the quality of Abacus was good enough for the contract. When they first come out they say it is $100 just to look at it, and that was part of the company. I think they are a good company, but I feel they are expensive, and they oversell the service for what I got. They were overpriced for what they promised.

service tech,
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
, started the job with the intent of trying to save the old pump, if possible.
He came prepared with a replacement pump, but wanted to try and save the old one. The entire system
had to be cleaned and flushed of rubber bits before either the old pump or the new pump could be used.
This took more than an hour. The reward was that the old pump could be saved (at least for now), and I
saved the $140 for a new pump.
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
was an excellent diagnostician and maintained a professional attitude and good humor through
some difficult setbacks during repairs.
Prior to arrival on the job we exchanged a couple of phone calls setting up the appointment time. The
technician was prompt and courteous and left no doubt about his arrival time and what I should expect.
I would certainly deal with
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
again and would recommend them without reservation.

We called
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
for another appliance repair. We used them to fix our refrigerator this time. After getting the part in they fixed it within 30 mins and it's working great. In the past we have also used them to fix a washer, water heater, and an ice machine. Great job as always. Great job as always.

We are so happy with the work that
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
has done on our house. We purchased a fixer-up house as a 2nd/vacation home approximately 3 years ago and
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
has basically done all the rehab work for us. The first job that he did for us was to completely gut and install two new bathrooms. He put new sheetrock walls, tile floors, installed fixtures, electrical, plumbing, etc. He also made sure everything was up to code. My two new bathrooms are beautiful! He then installed all new interior doors, exterior doors and new windows. Again, I love everything. He has opened walls, increased door sizes for us. His last job was to install a new roof. Looks great, all the neighbors commented on how nice it looks. He is currently working on our Kitchen remodel and he will be installing all new tile & laminate flooring in the kitchen, living areas and bedrooms. He is very trustworthy, comes when he says he will be there, is flexible to work around our schedule. He has completed every job to our satisfaction. We have come to trust
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
so much that he has a key to our home so that he can do renovations on our home when we are not here. HIs prices are very reasonable.

They came the very next day after I contacted them. We area waiting for a part to come in to finish the repairs. So far they have been very nice, professional and have been on time. He even looked at my dehumidifier for me.

You only have to pay the service fee one time, even if the repairman has to come back out. I like that
Grand Island Small Appliance Repair Provider Name Locked
is prompt. We had an A/C emergency and the young lady found a company that could come out that day -- she went above and beyond the call of duty.
- Tammy S.

They're very honest. They do a good job. They're reasonably priced. It's always good. They never gouge you. we've been going to them for years. They know their business. You can trust that they have a good price and that they'll work.
