I originally scheduled an appointment in mid-August for between 9 and 12 noon. At 11:45
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
called to say the service tech was running late. At 1 pm
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
called again. And so on, until 4pm when I finally called to cancel and reschedule. I requested a "first morning call" and was given the first available appointment, which was today, 9/11/2014 between 7 and 9 am. That's a wide range for a first call but that's how they do things. They day arrives and I'm ready for
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
to arrive at 7 am. At 8:30 they called to say the technician was "jammed up". Okay, when will he get here?, I ask.
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
couldn't say anything but that it shouldn't be later than noon. As I write this, it's now hours past the "first call of the morning" window. For the second time,
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
failed to keep it's scheduled appointment. and I've missed two days in the office. I pay extra for this "full service" .
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
doesn't just add a huge supplement to it's fuel charges for service, the service contract itself an extra $200. After seven years of good service, the last two years have been awful! Last winter I had a similar experience with an emergency service call.
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
showed up hours late, well into the night, to restore heat. The service technician was cranky and tired but what can you do when it's freezing out and you've not got heat?
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
really knows how to exploit that situation. They used to be great, now they rate F.

With regard to price for delivery of home heating oil, they're ok - not the lowest, but not the highest. We signed up for the Fixed Rate plan where our price per
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
was fixed for the first 600 gallons and then it went to a variable rate from there. They tack on an extra fee if you use this service which I believe was about $20. I spoke with a local competing company the other day and they don't offer a fee if you lock in to their Fixed Rate plan, so I'll be calling around this year and most likely won't be returning to
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
for the several reasons. The $20 fee I could deal with, but the poor customer service is a deal-breaker for me.

1) Customer service is touch and go. When I've had a question regarding pricing or my bill or delivery, I call the Customer Service line and there has been only 1 person that I can remember who was actually very courteous and helpful. All of the other times I called, I ended up with a woman (all the reps I spoke with were women) who just clearly didn't want to be on the phone answering questions. They were not courteous or in any way friendly. They were
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
with their answers. They just aren't pleasant to deal with and it got to the point where I just dreaded having to call them. 2) the young man (kid, really) that they sent out to perform the annual maintenance on the boiler was unprofessional. He was talking on the phone with a fellow employee and complaining about a customer that his fellow employee was in the middle of dealing with - the things that he was saying and in the presence of a customer were very rude and unprofessional. 3) He didn't replace the air filter or the thermostat on the hot water heater because he said the air filter looked more or less clean and even though the thermostat on the water heater wasn't working properly, it should be ok for another year. Both of those items were covered under our annual maintenance contract and looking back, I feel like I should have insisted that he leave an air filter because the on in the furnance will eventually need to be replaced and I should have insisted that he change out the thermostat. Our water runs terribly hot - scalding actually, even on the lowest possible setting of the thermostat, but I didn't question the young man's decision which, looking back, I should have. I guess they're trained to save money at all costs even when customer has already paid for a service contract. 4) I had agreed the first year to have an additive added to my oil tank to keep the sludge at bay, but I didn't know that they were going to automatically add this to the tank every year without notifying me first. Luckily, I caught it just in time because they had added it to my bill prior to actually performing the service which is usually done in the summer. I called and told them that I didn't request or sign up for, in any way, a second year of oil tank additive. The way they do this comes across as sneaky. They hope they can get it past you by adding it to the bill and it's not a ton of money - I think it's about $40 or $50, so they're probably hoping you won't notice, but it should be my choice to request this service every year or every other year or whenever. I don't like them trying to sneak it in.
So long,

I have not experienced any issues with this company and would recommend them. They installed a on/off switch on my water tank so it can be turned off when no one is in the condo. This was not in the work order but it was very much appreciated as it saves me $ in oil.

We were scheduled for a specific timeframe and he showed up within the time specified and did an excellent job with all of the above items. I have been with
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
since I moved into this location over twenty years ago and have found them to be extremely responsive and professional at all times. All of the services provided are included in the cost of the oil and the only time I paid an additional charge was when
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
replaced our burner with an high efficiency burner. He has replaced a clogged oil line in the basement and whenever we called with a problem he responded as quickly as possible and had the necessary repairs done at no additional charge.

On 6/18/2014 I paid for 100 gallons of oil that was never delivered. The tank was NOT empty before the supposed delivery. I had between 1/8th and 1/4 on the gauge. I did not look at the tank for 10 days. I noticed that the gauge was lower than before the delivery. I had a licensed furnace technician verify that my gauge is not broken and I have 9 inches of oil in a tank that is 45 inches deep. Possibly 50 gallons. It is a 275

tank. They insist that I received the oil. When the kid

back to check my tank for them the 1st thing he said was "I have never been here before". I showed him the receipt and he said it was his ticket. He tried to check the oil level with a tree limb that he found in my back yard. There were 20 e mails back and forth between
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
and I. I also spoke to the father
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
. I believe that I was targeted because I paid cash in advance at the
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
location, I was a new customer, I am a senior citizen and my information on the receipt was hand printed. I have filed a police report. They have not responded to the police. Any reputable dealer would have come to my home immediately to see why I did not get the oil. They would not have sent back the delivery man who was suppose to have delivered the oil. They would respond to the police out of respect.
I have never received the oil so I had to buy 100 gallons from another company.

These professionals worked efficiently and effectively, while protecting my property, basement. The furnace was installed within their estimated time in such a manner that it was hard to tell they had even entered my home. Most importantly, the on-site workers put down protective tarp in every area that they performed work to protect the lawn, floor, stairs and outside area. Anyone in need of a new furnace or just to have their furnace repaired, this company is one of the best in the business within the northern New

area. I would highly recommend
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
mainly because of their service and professionalism. I've been a very satisfied customer for the last five (5) years with their on-time fuel delivery. You never have to worry about 'We'll be their between some ridiculous hours' commitments.

In every interaction we have had with A&N, we've been more than satisfied. Oil deliveries were made when requested. Oil deliveries were on time. When requested, the driver would call us in advance. As mentioned above, the driver used the appropriate device to insure there would be no overflow. Repairs, when needed, were completed, and, since we had a service contract - usually no additional fees (unless certain parts not included in the contract were needed.
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
has always made himself available to answer our questions and respond to our concerns. I should add that I entered this review because I read the other reviews and cannot believe what I read. The rude female over the phone was likely not an A&N employee, but rather someone from the phone service that fields calls during the off hours. No one we have ever spoken with at A&N has ever been anything approaching rude or nasty. And, I admit, there have been times when our nearly neurotic concerns about our heating system have caused us to call them rather frequently. Just remembered: The last service call: The repair professional not only diagnosed the problem we were having, but listened to our concerns about our heating system and our dissatisfaction with the heat distribution in the house. The solution he devised? A new thermostat. And what a difference it had made! In short, absolutely no complaints with A&N.

Went great. They provided a quote over the phone of $1,000. Another
provider who came on site after them said it would cost $1,500 and would
not be an easy job. NE tank service came on site at my request to
confirm the quote and they confirmed it would be $1,000 so I agreed to
the job and they scheduled it for later that week. 2 guys came out and
performed the task within 4 hours. They moved the tank to the basement,
installed new pipe to the heater and installed the fill and vent pipes
to the outside. Everything looked good and about as clean as it can in a
dirt basement.

Called
College Point Heating Oil Suppliers Provider Name Locked
's fuel to have my boiler inspected and cleaned was told after the inspection that the chamber was collapsed and to repair it would cost an additional $500 but I should also look into getting a new boiler because it was 20 years old. This is also the company I buy my oil from.
After paying $100 for the inspection with no cleaning. I decided to call another company for a 2nd opinion. The other company came inspected it and cleaned it. Asked him about the chamber and he said it was fine just a little soot build up and just needed to be cleaned. I would never use them again for oil or service of my boiler.
