"When they arrived the counter top did not fit. They took it out side to take off a fraction of an inch. when they brought it back in and set it in place it fit" perfectly. The sink would not fit in the pre cut opening so they trimmed it down to size. I was in the next room and I saw a cloud of granite dust coming out of the kitchen it was so thick that i had to cover my mouth and nose with my shirt and my eyes felt gritty, The Kitchen, Living room, Hallway and Office was covered in granite dust. I had to use eye wash to get the grit out of my eyes. I was told that the workers were experienced in installing and cleaning up. I was also told that they would hang a tarp or plastic sheeting to keep any mess in the kitchen,They did not. I called the company about the granite dust and they said they would send the 2 workers back to clean up, I was told that they clean up granite dust all the time and that they would do a good job at it and not to let them go until the job was done to my satisfaction. Only one of the two worker showed up and he had paper towels and a bottle of spray cleaner and he cleaned for two hours in the kitchen. I looked at the kitchen it was after dark by then and the kitchen looked cleaner but not clean.I told him he could go because he obviously did not know what he was doing, So the next day I went out to the kitchen to clean , We just had our cabinets refaced the week before I looked over at the Microwave and the surface was all scuffed up. Granite dust is an abrasive material and he had etched the surface when he was wiping it off. Luckily the cabinets were not damaged. The ceiling fan was running so the question remains. Granite Dust Is an Abrasive , did it get into the motor of the ceiling fan, Refrigerator, T.V. VCR. Wii,Playsation3, Computer,.....etc. I guess time will tell.

"We searched a few granite yards in this area for a remnant that was the right color and size. Two other yards did not have the color & size we needed. They" also gave estimates that were hundreds more than Acer's. We selected the remnant from their yard. Originally we were told it could be installed within one week. A week after contacting with them they sent a templater who took his time to do it right and very professionally. We waited two weeks for the granite to be prepared and installed. Installers were clean efficient and fast. Everyone was patient, and easy to communicate with. Total time from contract to install 3 weeks. Which I guess is customary in this business. In all I am extremely satisfied with their work.

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

Countertop Installation reviews in Castle Creek

My initial contact with this company was amazing. We randomly stopped by to look at their stockyard of remnants and found a stone we loved, but was out of our price range. We went back and forth with
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
many times, and she was wonderful answering all of our questions. We went back a few weeks later, and found another granite slab that we loved and was the perfect size and in our budget! We were sent home with a sample of the stone to try out in our bathroom, and we set up the installation appointment that night. Someone came out very soon to measure our current counter and to answer our questions. The installation was scheduled for 2 weeks later. They gave us an installation time window, however the installers showed up over an hour and a half late with no phone call letting us know they were running behind (even though we were the first appointment of the day, 8-10 am window). The installation went smoothly and it looked great.
After a few days, I noticed some pockets that had not been filled, but had been told that this happens sometimes and to let them know and they would come back and fix them. The second time around, communication was much harder, not as quick and prompt. However we did finally get a date scheduled for the installer to come back and fill the holes. Again, we were given the 8-9 am window and he showed up an hour and a half late. This time we did get a phone call at about 9:45 telling us he was running late and on his way.
Overall, I was very happy with the process, just a few frustrating waiting periods. The counter was cut beautifully and they did a nice job installing it on our existing counter without damaging it or the walls. I would definitely consider using them again in the future.
- Stacen H.

They did an excellent job. They were thorough and meticulous with measuring and installing. They clened up behing themselves daily. They were here on time daily. They were open to anything we asked. The bottom line is the product was perfect and the
installation was also perfect. I would hire them again and I highly recommend them.

Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
is easy to work with as well. His pricing is reasonable, upfront, and accurate; I have had no surprises on any bill.

Installation was fine...contractors were on time, clean and professional. We love our new kitchen. However, our communication with the office was difficult and less than professional when trying to set an install date. We were originally quoted 7-10 days after order was placed, but install didn't happen until 4 weeks later. Once counters were ready to install, we had additional difficulties trying to get a final date set. Other than those difficulties, we recommend this company.

When it came time to provide a “new look” for our kitchen and bathroom countertops, we trusted our general contractor and worked with
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
, owner of
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. We were searching for just the right granite to co-exist with and complement our existing cabinets in the kitchen and three bathrooms. We spent many hours going to different granite distributors and with
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
’s help finally selected just the right granite.

Not only are
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
’s rates super competitive, but he is incredibly patient and bends over backwards to make sure you are pleased with his work. He even managed to secure discounted remnant rates for the granite in the three bathrooms. He measures, measures again, and does a template so that everything fits correctly in the allocated space. He even made adjustments on the job site, like when our new sink faucet lever was a little too close to the

of the granite ledge above it, and shaved off some granite on two sides so the piece nestled in place perfectly.

Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
also provided great pricing on the under-mount sinks in the bathrooms. If you are looking for a master craftsman who will treat you fairly and go above and beyond to make sure you end up with just the right granite look in your kitchen or bathroom,

We started out at Lowe's in
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
, NJ and had a great experience with
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
. Since Lowe's does not carry the granite and works with subcontractors, we we given a list of vendors and their preferred vendor (Progressive Dimensions). In between some pretty good snow storms, we called and arranged for a measurement of the counter space. This part went flawlessly as he arrived on time and was done in short order.
Between another set of snow storms, we went down to
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
River. Temperature outside was 5 and very windy. Once we found the entrance (don't use their address of
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
; the entrance is on 166), we went inside where it was nice and warm. They were doing a good business, so we had to wait about 5 - 6 minutes. Once it was our turn, we went out into the cold, got on a golf cart and were whisked away to the "
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
". We had always talked about getting Uba Tuba for the kitchen until about 5 minutes into viewing their selection. We (rather she) found a slab of Typhoon
Castle Creek Countertop Installers Provider Name Locked
that was to come home. We already knew that, based on the number of square feet, that for every upgrade in price (A, B, C, D, E) we would leave about $300 poorer. D it was.
The next week we went back to PDC and saw the slab, chose where we wanted the cuts, and were done in about 15 minutes. Four days later, the installation crew showed up with the cut slab and set about installing it. I think these guys were fantastic! They secured the dishwasher and undermount sink, and then checked to see if the cooktop (new) would fit the opening and cabinet beneath. Unfortunately, the cabinet needed to be modified. Expecting them to just leave it, I went to get my cutting tools. Five minutes later THEY had the modifications done for me!
After a few minutes cleaning up, they were gone and the wife (and I) had a lovely new countertop.
The worst part of the whole ordeal (other than the freezing temperatures): finding the entrance. The best part: the installation crew. If they get to read the review: I'm going to start looking at You Tube for installation videos! (great guys with a great sense of humor).
