Plumbing Reviews in Brooklyn

This is the second and third time I use
. THe first was for a boiler conversion, oil to gas.
After heavy rain , the bathroom flooded and there were several "waterfalls" -the toilet, the tub and the sink. The water then made its way down and flooded the basement below.
I sent
an email with pics that night and followed up with
in the morning. They couldn't get someone there until later the afternoon.Yeah.
It was still raining that day and I was concerned the water would flood the house. Two guys showed up, and were very nice and knowledgeable.
They spent an hour and a half and managed to unclog the sewer line.
Prior to this incident I proactively hired
to inspect the sewer line since I suspected this was the source of ongoing basement flooding. This service was $500.
only inspected the sewer line below grade and not the exposed section of pipe. They also inspected the line out to the street.
It was the exposed section of the sewer line that had not been inspected, that backed up a few weeks later .The two
employees said the section had to be replaced and that
would provide a quote. I sent
pictures and never heard back.
I didn't sweat that they left the place a mess.
I decided to wait to this summer to replace this line and have again requested a quote for the replacement and have yet to receive a quote or a response .
Their biggest flaw aside from
's ridiculously high prices, is no follow through and a lack of responsiveness to clients. There is a complete disregard for their clients' concerns after the job is done.
This is a pattern because I also contacted them after the boiler had been installed regarding the automatic feeder not working properly. Again, no response. THeir bid for the conversion was very high but I chose them because I thought I would have less hassle with the work. This was not the case.
Last winter I had to babysit this expensive boiler job because the water doesn't automatically feed into the system. So I have to check the water and manually feed water into the boiler several times a week!! For this winter I will have to find someone to look at this since
ignored my email when I told them about the problem.
I discovered the issue when the boiler began making a weird sound .When I went to check it was low on water.
Professionalism is more than just how you interact with a client; it also means standing by the work and services provided.

Worked relatively quickly and efficiently. Really appreciated them putting on booties so as to not damage flooring with work boots. Generally explained what they were doing. Given that all the work was done in about an hour or less, I thought the price was too high but I should have gotten a better estimate in the first place.

was on time and did an excellent job (as always) They performed the work as quoted and worked without a break for 5 hours. They are always professional.

The deal I bought was a $39 visit charge, and $39 worth of service, claiming to be $150 value. I don't feel it is worth more than that to spend literally 1 minute turning a wrench once, so I told the service man we had a problem with the bill, and called the office manager at the number the service guy gave me.
The manager would not let me finish a sentence, told me there's "no way" it costs $39 for a service visit (when I tried to tell him the deal I had purchased--which is still at this minute up available on Angie's List). He then hung up on me.
This seems to be a big scam. I called Angie's List customer service and they suggested I leave a negative review. So here it is. Folks, do not hire this company.

They were very professional and did good work. The only reason for the B grade is that I was disappointed with the price. I had purchased a Big Deal that was pretty inexpensive, for a plumbing house-call. It said it could be put towards plumbing issues that included toilet problems. The work was not particularly time consuming, so I thought it would be covered by the deal. I was willing to pay extra for new parts needed, but I feel like I ended up paying the full price I would have by cold-calling a plumber without the Big Deal.

They were on time, professional, informed and gave an accurate diagnosis of the problem with the necessary solution.
The pricing was fair and competitive to our zip code.

After a week of unsuccessfully trying to get our regular plumber here, I called
Brooklyn Plumbers Provider Name Locked
on a Monday afternoon about an undetermined leak (plaster and paint bubble filled with water in our 1st floor bathroom ceiling and wall) and he said he'd be here the next day between 9 and 10am.
He called the next morning at 8am to confirm and was here by 8:30, going right to work by testing 2nd floor washing machine, bathroom and kitchen fixtures to find the leak. He found small leaks in the kitchen (faucet and drain pipe) as well as in the washing machine return hose and fixed them all by 9:40am. He was very professional, explained everything and guaranteed his labor and materials for one year.

Although I had to call twice in the A.M. for emergency service, the second call was promptly returned and an appointment was scheduled immediately for the same day. The appointment was even moved up earlier because the technician was available sooner. He arrived on time, was friendly and knowledgeable, explained all aspects of the job and their costs before working. He worked efficiently and neatly, and cleaned up when he was done.

In general, I found the service from Good Plumber to be excellent. The plumbers are always very through, their work is very by the book, and they would rather correct problems the right way rather than slap a band-aid on things. I have no doubt that they work they did will hold up for a long time. On the downside, I rated them a little lower on punctuality, responsiveness, and price, but I think I should explain further:
Punctuality - I found that in general, the plumber didn't come at the appointed time. However, they do automatically text you when the plumber is headed your way, and they always eventually showed up. Treat your appointment time as a guideline as to when they will arrive, rather than as a set time.
Responsiveness - you won't always get a plumber on the phone, but they do use an answering service, which means that you at least always get to speak to a human instead of an answering machine. In general they call back on the same day, although I found if I called near the end of the day I would sometimes have to call again.
Price - as many reviews have stated, these guys don't come cheap. However, they do itemize everything and show you an estimate before they start anything. I don't have

baseline for what the going rates are, but I did suspect that their prices are probably higher than average (especially for hardware), but again, I did feel like I was being taken care of during the whole process. We did end up spending significantly more than I was expecting on plumbing, but a lot of it was due to discovering the quirks of our 80-year-old building.
Overall, for anything complicated, I would definitely use these guys again. They are patient and thorough, and not against explaining what they are doing and why.
