Reviews for Reno Solar Panel Installers

"What's refreshing is to have someone do what they say they're going to do, when they'll do and how they'll do it. It was a great experience right from the start. Our meeting with Dick
was a pleasure. Dick is more than a sales rep; he knows the product, the business and industry and we really enjoyed the time spent with him because not only did we learn a lot about solar heating but we feel confident that we got a good product that is backed by a company who has been in business for many years. The installation went very smooth as well. Again, they said they would be here on Friday June 27 at around 10:00 and sure enough, they were there. The two guys who did the installation were knowledgeable and friendly and finished the job as they said, in a few hours. They explained everything we needed to know and made sure I understood the system. More importantly, they gave me a contact person in case I had a problem or forgot something. The site was as clean as it was before they came. Can't ask for anything more. The solar equipment is working like a charm. By Sunday we were in the pool for the first time since we moved into the house. It felt great. I also appreciated the follow up call form the office about a week later making sure everything was working fine and to see if I had any questions. Overall, from start to finish, a great job.

"This is a fantastic company to deal with! Very professional and polite. They took all the time we needed answering all our questions. Our installer
did a excellent job. Our room is now nice and bright with our new solar tubes. We plan on having one installed in each bathroom later. We highly recommend them.
had a follow up call to make sure we were satisfied. We definitely are!

is the owner and helped me through the application and installing of project. this is a good deal. TVA"s green power program will buy solar power from private individuals. the tax write off is 65 percent. so even if the cost is steep after tax write off and payment from TVA you can recoup your money in 6 to 8 years. if you have questions about solar power call

"This is a very professionally staffed and run company. Working with

, I got several options quoted (different size systems and panel) so I could make an informed decision regarding the best system for me. Stellar competed with 5 other companies offering quotes. I personally eliminated 3 of those companies because they used subcontractors. I also required an electrical panel upgrade which Stellar performed as well. (I didn't want to have an issue with the roof/system where two entities blamed each other so having one company do it all gave me great peace of mind). Every one I dealt with was a Stellar employee and were extremely professional. They coordinated all permits & inspections and kept me well informed as each milestone in the project was reached. The system installation started and finished earlier than estimated for my project. The install started on a day I happen to be out of town on business. My wife was apprehensive not being familiar with the project but the install crew made her feel very confident in their work. As the project finished I noticed some broken roof tiles and they were fixed immediately. This is one of those times I was glad I paid a little more for a big investment to get the system and installer I wanted!!
"We have been looking to install a residential solar (PV) system on our home (built in 2011 with no shade and with favorable orientation for a rooftop system). We obtained quotes from other installers and wanted another from which to make a selection. Installing and financing a residential solar (PV) system can be daunting and is a sizeable investment. We did considerable research (multiple quotes, contacting our local municipal light department) and concluded purchasing rather than leasing a system was best option for us.
We contacted NextStep Living and provided, electric usage over the past two years, aerial images and photos of the house (they had difficulty finding the house on available satellite images since its recent construction). The initial site visits by a sales representative and technicians (the latter to take detailed measurements of the roof) went well. They appeared experienced and professional, answering all our questions. (The sales representative visit had to be repeatedly rescheduled due to issues with their scheduling software).
We had scheduled a meeting to discuss the quote and contract terms, but NextStep Living abruptly canceled on the morning of the meeting, explaining they had overnight decided to stop installing PV systems in communities served by municipal electric departments in Massachusetts.
The sale representative explained that our local municipal light department would only credit us (net meter - crediting us for electricity generated by the PV system, but not used by us during the day, and sent out onto the local distribution system) for the wholesale rate of electricity ($0.05 per kilowatthour) generated by the solar (PV) system, and not at the higher retail rate ($0.11272 per kilowatthour). Net metering (a bill credit) helps lower the cost of a solar (PV) system, but is only one of several incentives available in Massachusetts and since the payback period (time it would take for us to recover the cost of the solar (PV) system) would be longer, more than 10 years, NextStep Living decided to cancel the quote. At least that's what they told us.
I pointed out to the sale representative that we weren't necessarily concerned about the payback period and I had asked if they had checked with my local utility on net metering and interconnection requirements, but we knew (and later called and confirmed with our municipal light department) that NextStep Living was misrepresenting the net metering policy of my municipal light department.
My local municipal light department credits 100% of all electric generation at the retail rate of $0.11272 per kilowatthour from residential solar PV systems. We don't whether NextStep Living failed to do the research or was just sloppy and assumed all municipal light departments in Massachusetts have the same net metering policy.
NextStep Living appears to be one of many PV installers redlining communities in Massachusetts served by municipal light departments and it has been a challenge to finding PV installers that work with municipal light departments.
While the sales representative and technicians were professional, our interaction with other NextStep Living representatives was mixed (rude, unprofessional, inexperienced), leaving us with the distinct impression they were doing us a favor by working with us on a PV installation.
I would not recommend working with NextStep Living on a solar PV installation
"The company have been very good so far, I called them a couple of times for questions in regards to the solar and they always answer the phone and were very helpful. when we had problem with the system they immediately send someone to check the system.
The sales re was very professional, he came several of times, explained everything. The salesman was not Pushy and he was very good.
I am definitely recommend this company in the future.

"The company did an excellent job in the sales process. They explained everything thoroughly so that I understood exactly how the solar process works. The installers did a very good job. They cleaned up very well and the house looked exactly as it had prior to them performing the work. I am very happy with their work and also happy that I am saving lots of money on my electric bill.
"From start to finish, the process was smooth. Installing panels is a long process. It took about four months because of the permitting and inspection required by the city. I was wondering if four months was average and the city inspector said he's seen the process take almost a year, so we were happy with four months.

guided us through the rebate process which paid for about half the cost.
If you're interested in solar, a quick phone call to
Reno Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
will tell you if it's possible in your current house (they pull up a google image of your roof), how much it would cost and what rebates are available. You'll know everything you'll need to make a decision within about 10 minutes. All without leaving your home.
Best news: our first bill after installation was -$7. Our next bill should be about $18! YES!
"I would echo what a number of the other reviewers have said--be very careful if you decide to do business with this company. As far as I can tell, their sales method is to come to your house and tell you that you have been selected as a "reference home" for the area and are eligible to get 40% off if you serve as a reference and don't tell anyone what you paid for the system. Ultimately, after a lot of talk, the sales person will offer you three very over-priced systems (with very few concrete details about exactly what you are buying) and claim you are getting 40% off, but only if you sign a contract that minute. Do not believe what they say and do not sign the contract. It's possible they are selling a good product, but the sales model has used car salesman written all over it. Unless these folks change the way they do business, it's hard to imagine they will be in business much longer.
