I spoke to
Brewer, who is the owner. He quoted me what I believed to be a very high price
to have my starter replaced. Anywhere from $200 to $550 for the labor and $300
to $350 for the starter alone. Once I told him that I was going to shop around
because I thought the price was too high.

work done, based on the hourly rate, and me providing a new starter. His
mechanic arrived on January 8th at 7:20 am, and had it diagnosed and removed by
8:20 am. I took it to Turbo & Electric to have it rebuilt. I informed
that it would be ready on Friday afternoon, and it was. Once I picked it up I
Saturday January 10th at 8 am.
The same mechanic
and tested by 8:51 am. I was so happy that I asked if he could look at a bad
taillight to see if he could fix it. He completed the taillight diagnosis by
9:10 am and finalized the work order for a TOTAL of 2.0 hours. He called it into
the office for me to pay with a credit card over the phone. The receptionist
told me the Total was $250.00. I explained that that was not what
me, so she put him on the phone.

exactly what he quoted me, the estimates, and the option to just pay the hourly
rate. He then changed his story and said it should have been $550, but he was
giving me a break! Then he said that he had to charge a trip charge, and he
should charge it twice.
He then changed his
story again, and said he was billing me just the straight time at $75.00 per
hour, but it had to start when the mechanic left the shop or wherever he was
before coming to me.
He also then said he really
should charge me MORE than the $75.00 per hour today because it’s SATURDAY, and
that should be charged at overtime! I told him no, because he chose to have it
re-installed today, and that I was happy to wait until Monday. He replied that
he couldn’t do it on Monday because they are already fully booked for that day.
I said well that’s on him, not me.
I told him that the paper invoice I have says 2.0 hours and
does not say anything about trip charges or anything else.

everything he then told me that he does not take American Express. I told him
that was the only credit card I use. He said he will come to my house on Monday
to collect payment.
This guy is a crook! He thinks he can just make up
explanations to charge someone whatever he wants. Im sure that he is used to
bullying people to get what he wants. I
