"I am giving this company a negative review. We had
install our solar panels last year in February 2014.
" did all of the paperwork, and were easy to work with. They insured us that the solar panels that we had installed would cover all of our energy usage and maybe even more. That we would NEVER go out of Tier 1 and we have hit Tier 3 several times. We thought that this was a great investment. Fast-forward to our current nightmare with this crooked company. We recently contacted
again because they had promised us that we would receive a rebate from
for installing solar panels within nine months. When we called to inquire about not receiving this rebate
informed us that
had stopped sending rebate checks. So after many phone calls
talked to upper management and we were told that
would pay us for this rebate and
would handle
in court themselves. They also promised us two free system checks a year and we still have not received one...a year later. We were promised work that was never completed. They reassured us that both these issues would be taken care of by the end of the week (January 2015). Here we are almost in March, still no refund check, still no solar system check, and still no help with the large
bills. My husband and I have called almost daily,
refuses to call us back and
won't return my calls at all but will briefly talk to my husband stating that he will call right back or that the issues will be taken care of. We still have no answers and no one will call us to answer our questions. The best part about this whole situation? We recently received a bill from
for $750. saying that in the last year our panels have not produced enough energy for our usage.
informed me that the paperwork that was submitted by
for right to operate was submitted with 591 kWh when our average usage is approximately 1000 kWh a month. They lied right to our faces when they said our panels would cover or come very close to covering our usage. Many of the months the panels are only producing 200kWh nothing even close to the 591kWh. In fact not one single month did we even produce 591kWh period which means the panels are not working correctly and this whole problem could of possibly been avoided if we had our maintenance checks, like promised and/or monitoring done from their place of business like we were also told we would be receiving. We spent over $27,000 to be lied to, avoided, and down right scammed. Stay away from this company at all costs and spend your money somewhere else.

"All the people who worked this project, from sales through installation to customer service have been very easy to work with and have answered all questions. The" installation was handled in one day with no damage to roof. Very happy so far with there service and after installation follow through.

8 tips for finding the best solar panel installer

One highly rated provider shares eight tips to help you find the best solar panel installer for your home and get the best return on your investment.

3 types of solar panels: pros and cons

Are you confused about how solar panels work? Manufacturers produce three general types of panels, with variances that affect efficiency and performance. Find out how the three types differ, and which might work best.

Connecting your residential solar power to the utility grid comes with advantages, but for some homeowners a stand-alone solar system is a better fit.

When selecting a solar panel installer, it’s important to know the efficiency of the panels that will be used in your system. Cheaply made solar panels do not give homeowners as high a return on investment. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Thomas B. of Las Vegas)

Leasing solar panels may sound like a nice way to get green energy into your home, but count the cost before you sign that lease instead of buying outright.

Are you talking about powering your home solely on solar (i.e. no back up power source or off grid).

The power, once convered from DC to AC via the inverter, is suitable for use by the home.

Most solar application are in supplement to the current powering of the home and will spin the meter back in the day but are not the primary.

OK - that should strike Atlantic Plumbing off your vendor list !

You say female pipe to copper pipe connection - I hope you are not saying they connected copper directly to galvanized or black iron pipe. If so, there should have been a dielectric union put in there to prevent corrosion, which could be part of your problem.

Also, generally a bad idea to use teflon tape for hot water tank connections - too much thermal cycling, loosens it up over time. Should use plumbers dope for that application.

It sounds to me like a connection problem - if the tank itself was leaking it should be flooding the top of the tank or more likely running down through the insulation and dripping out the bottom.

Unless you are a do it yourselfer, sounds like you need to find a new plumber with good reviews and rating in your area - Search the List (in green banner bar). This should be an easy fix - should have him put in dielectric couplings (about $5-10 each depending on pipe size) if current connection is iron to copper, and even if not, have him redo connection not only for cold but also hot water - if one was done poorly, probably both were.

Solar Panel Installation reviews in Gallup

The overall install was completed correctly and passed inspection. The customer service and communication was horrible.
- Kenneth N.

The entire installation took one day from around 8 AM until Sundown. They use a very professional and strong installation method to anchor the panels to the existing roof structure. I am fairly picky and vetted that prior to the installation and the way they went about the installation and the components they use are of very high quality and strong....More /> During daylight hours on a sunny day I am generating more than the power needed by my home and spinning the meter backwards to get money back from

Side Note: I have gas heat, so I am not heating with electricity. Once summer comes and the AC comes on I won't be spinning the meter backwards quite as fast.
The team that did the installation was very professional and did a great job.
In February, I actually called them back out and had online monitoring installed for my system so I can observe it's performance from my Smartphone, or any browser.

hounded me until I agreed to use them. They changed the contract on me by crossing things off to their benefit. They were also to install 36 panels and only installed 31. Their workmanship was terrible and they made many mistakes on the electrical, getting city permits, etc. I was told that once the wiring was put in correctly that they would be out in 7-8 days to get everything up and running; they finally came back out 2 months later. I kept calling them to find out what was going on and they would hang up on me each time. I was also lied to about the billing cycle and how much kilowatt hours I used or didn't use. I tried to call them again with questions about how I was getting billed and they would pick up the phone, I would tell them my name, and they would immediately hang up on me.
- Mel K.

It went well. It does take a while to get this project, going with all the approvals. Once they got engaged, they get it done. As far as I can tell, they did really good work. They were very professional. They were very prompt to address any concerns that I had. They were always here on time. They told me everything that they were working on.
- Dan D.

Not sure he knew what he was talking about. We're not sure if he's experienced. We have a problem with roof access. He has to get to the other side through a crawl space. They can't get equipment through there. Somebody else said they could and would use the same type of equipment but were twice the price. Maybe if somebody else from

would come out and figure out how to get the equipment to the roof we would use them.

Terrible! They met with my contractor who showed them the exact space that he had built on the roof for the solar panels. It was a shingled area instead of the tiles that I had everywhere else on the roof. The panels were not supposed to be visible at all from the street. I received a variance for my pool that had to be approved by the architecture board and city planning and the solar panels were all

from the street view.
When they showed up to install the panels they decided to not use the area provided and shown to them but moved the panels to
a part of the roof covered in tile and in full view from the street. They did not notify anyone that they were doing this. They never gave us any instruction on the operation either.
When I call to complain that the panels were not in the place set for them in the approved plans they told me that no one showed them any place or plans. Called the contractor a liar and refused to move them back. They told me that they would come out and give me an estimate to move them. I was yelled at and treated extremely rudely by the sales rep

My contractor spoke with the owner who later admitted that they had known where they were supposed to go and did not get any approval for the new location. But they are still not moving them. I'm not filing complaints with the License Board.

The installation crew came on time. They went over the process with me including how long it would take for the work to be completed; any potential noises; and tools they will be using to do the job. After the work was completed they cleaned the place. Provided and explained maintenance options available to me to ensure that the solar water heater system as a whole provide me and my family the best output and cost savings. They even went out of their way to fix an unrelated plumbing issue they identified for free. All service charges were paid by the company that improperly installed the panel the first time. That is why I do not have the cost. They did a great job. My system is working fine now and I very happy to recommend them to anyone who is looking to install a solar water heater at their home.
