Very professional. Helped us choose appropriate railing to fit with exterior of house and our budget. Estimated 4 weeks for railings to be custom-made, but they were ready and installed in three weeks. Installer was on time, very friendly and courteous and completed work in about an hour and a half. Very happy with finished product.
- Donna D.

Had to call a few times to get an initial appointment to see the job. Once it was set up they arrived as scheduled and manufactured and installed the custom railing in the time expected.

What follows is lengthy, but I urge you to read it if you are considering contracting with
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
I had never had
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
’s perform any work for me before. However, I have friends who have had many security doors, gates and fireplace grates fabricated and installed by
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
’s and the work has always been impeccable and the customer service top
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
’s seems to be fairly expensive compared to other companies but I was willing to pay a little more to get quality work and good customer service.
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
’s has recently changed ownership. Ed retired and sold the business. I assumed that the quality workmanship and service would continue to live up to the reputation. I was wrong. What follows is the saga of my experience with
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
, the new owner of
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
I contracted with
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
’s on April 25, 2014 for security doors for the front and back of my house. The total for the two doors was $2000. I was told that they had a little bit of a backlog, so the doors would take about 6 to 8 weeks to fabricate. I was willing to wait. They required a $1000 deposit at that time.
Eight weeks later, on June 18, I had not heard anything from
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
’s, so I phoned them to find out the status of my doors. I spoke with the owner,
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
. He said that he had no record that I ordered doors. I told him when I had placed the order, what I had ordered, that I had paid them $1000 and gave him the order number. He said that the gentleman who I had dealt with had left the company, and then he started telling me about how his records had gotten screwed up because of it, etc. He called me back the next day and told me that he found the order and that he would put it into fabrication the next day. He told me that it would take 2 to 3 weeks.
After 3 weeks, on
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
9, I hadn’t heard anything, so I called
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
again. He said that they hadn’t been able to get to them yet, so it would be another 2 or 3 weeks. I told him that I was a bit unhappy that it had been more than 2 months and they hadn’t even started. He blamed his employees – said they weren’t getting things done when they were supposed to so he was getting behind. I told him that how he runs his business is of no interest to me and, in my opinion, blaming his employees is not a valid
excuse to give to a customer.

30, after again not having heard anything, I called
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
again. He said that the doors were in fabrication but weren’t done yet. I expressed my displeasure that it had been 14 weeks since I had given him my $1000 dollars and had nothing to show for it.
I told him that I didn’t think it unreasonable to expect that the work would have been done in three months. He said nothing. Didn’t apologize. He promised me that they would be done within a week and we agreed to have them installed on Friday, August 8.
I called
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
on in the afternoon of Wednesday, August 6 to confirm installation of the doors on Friday. He told me that they would be there at 9 am. I took vacation from work on Friday, August 8 to be home for the installation. At 8:30 am,
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
left me a voicemail stating that they wouldn’t be able to install that day. He had done a “quality control” inspection Thursday afternoon and found that his guys had not painted the screens.
At this point, I was pretty upset. I had taken a day off work and he didn’t have the courtesy to call and cancel when he knew that they wouldn’t be able to install my doors. Instead of talking on the phone, I decided to drive to the business and speak to
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
person. When I met him in the office, he once again blamed the problems on his employees. I told him, again, that that was his
business, not mine. I also told him that I was very disappointed in the poor way that I was being treated and that for all of the inconvenience and delay, I would hope that he would provide some consideration when the installation was finished and we settled up the account. He offered nothing. He promised to finish the fab and install the following Friday. Again, I would take a day vacation to be at home.
The doors were finally finished and were installed on Friday, August 15, 16 weeks after I had ordered them. The doors had the wrong kind of screen in them. After 16 weeks, they had fabricated the doors incorrectly. I called
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
and told him. He looked at
the order and said, “Looks like we put the wrong screen in them”. He said that they could come back out and remove the doors and change the screens. I decided to only change the front door. The doors were to have privacy screens, which was important to me on the front door, but not necessary on the back, so I decided to cut him a break and only have him redo the front door. We
agreed that they would come by Wednesday, August 20. He said they would take a few days to fix and paint. I told him that I would be unavailable the following week, so we agreed to re-install the doors on Friday,September 5.
I called
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
on the afternoon of Thursday, September 4 to confirm. He told me that he had other big projects and no one was available so nothing had been done on my doors. I had it. I told him that I could care less about his other work. It had been 19 weeks and I didn’t take his having other work as a reasonable excuse for ignoring me, unless they had been also waiting 19 weeks. He said, and this I found to be the most telling thing, “they were important jobs”. I told him that I just wanted the job to be finished, and be done with this whole mess.
The door was reinstalled on Wednesday, September 10. They expected payment in full at the time of installation. I called to clear up a small mischarge on the bill and suggested to the office manager that in the interest of good faith, they should take a little bit off of the bill for all of the delays, inconvenience and the several days of vacation that I had to burn only to have them be a no-show. She said she would talk to
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
. I called her back and she said that, no, they wouldn’t do that.
The positive thing that I can say is that the installers did a great job. They were professional, courteous, and went out of their way to make sure that I was pleased with their work. They deserve to work for a better boss.
So the whole project took 20 weeks. Never did
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
so much as apologize for the inconvenience, nor did he give me the impression that he really cared that he had performed so poorly. His only excuse was to bash his employees and blame them for his poor business performance.
The really sad thing about this whole episode is that the doors are beautiful, but I will never do business with
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
’s again because I was treated so badly, with such disregard, almost bordering on contempt.
There are many companies in Tucson that do this work. My recommendation is that anyone considering this type of project contract with one of the other companies. You will have a much better experience.

The railings looked great, AT FIRST.
When the owner came out (
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
, I believe) to sell the project. I explained that I did not want to do maintenance for awhile on these, I asked him several times how long they would remain rust free.He assured me that the railings would remain Rust Free for at least 3 to 5 years. After that I would have to paint them, most likely annually.
Well less than a year after installation on 6/7/2013 I saw signs of some rust; within the year they looked like they had been on my house for 8 to 10 years. I called them several times. They told me that due to SANDY they had some problems with Rust issues? What that meant I'm not sure. The railings started to chip at this point I had called to get someone out to my home. The owner was away and not available So on Aug. 13, 2014 they finally came out to look at the problem. First it was the two workers and they confided in me that the touch up paint would not do it and that they did not have the right paint on their truck. The Owners Daughter was called. When she spoke to me she was very rude as though she was doing me a favor to sand parts of the railings because; YES there was that much RUST, than they touched up the paint. I asked what can we do about this. I was not satisfied with the product and I wanted them to make good on their product and installation. She proceeded to tell me I should have had the railings GALVANIZED that would make them rust resistant and would last much longer without rust. I explained to her that option was NEVER discussed when we planned the job? She proceeded to tell me it would cost me an additional $759.00. WHY they should repair the shoddy work for free or at least cost to them. We did not part best of friends but she would have
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
(Owner) call me with a resolution.
I am still waiting for that resolution. I will get in touch with them again, I will make a report with the Better Business
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
, I will
let all my friends and neighbors know through social medial.
I am waiting for a reply from him as to what will be done. I will wil update this review with reselution and photos of the shoddy repair.

I contacted
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
after a hail storm to come out an inspect my roof. I met with
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
and he informed me to contact my insurance company. He met with the adjuster and helped me with the process. The repairs went fast and smooth. The office also handled all my insurance filing so I didn't have to worry about it. I am very pleased with the process and if I have damage in the future I will be calling them again. I will be recommending this company.

I was actually surprised at the fact that the owner worked on the job himself start to finish. The employees were very respectful, did not use foul language (i have 3 children), kept their shirts on even though it was almost 100 degrees and humid out, and kept me informed about what was happening every step of the way. I sat out there on the last day with them and just drank a couple
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
laughing and having a great time. They were excellent during the entire process, very positive experience. He kept his entire crew busy and productively working, while doing stuff i guess only he could do (gates, latches, drop rods, hinges). It was a big job and I really did have fun while they were here. It wasnt like an experience with a robot that says the same thing, they were just like your everyday kind of people. They cleaned up the yard really well to the point where you didnt even know they were there! My kids were out playing with them. It was just an excellent experience. He takes pride in his work and that says alot about someone. Great job guys, keep up the good work! I highly recommend these guys to anyone that wants quality work done, with great prices, and people who stand by what they say!

When we bought our home there was a huge iron circular staircase outside going from the second floor down to the yard. Aside from being ugly, it took up a lot of space.
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
men showed up on time, removed it quickly, and cleaned up the area.

Once we got hold of
Princeton Wrought Iron Fence Provider Name Locked
(he was busy with projects for school's opening), the process went very quickly. He visited the house and provided an estimate immediately. He suggested and extra sturdy rail and slightly extended top rail because it was for disabled persons. We visited the shop so we could see an example of the railing. Early morning or about 5pm is best time time to catch him at the "Iron Works".
He installed it less than two weeks later which was a day ahead of schedule. His cell phone is the best way to reach him, I think, but I lost that number. The railing is perfect.

Bill was great and gave us an price that was the same as the one we went with. We choose the other contractor because he was two miles from the house (we live in a very small town) and had been recommended by the concrete contractor we were using. I was very grateful that this provider was so responsive.

We have a weird rectangular open space in the floor of our living room that lets light into the basement and isn't very safe. Most of our neighbors have dealt with this feature by installing heavy, industrial-grade subway grating over the space or putting big iron railings around it. Bill did a great job of solving the problem. First, he suggested that we could save money by avoiding industrial-grade materials which weren't necessary anyway. Second, he suggested a smaller mesh-size for the grating than we'd originally envisioned so that feet, fingers, high heels etc. wouldn't get stuck in it. Both of these were excellent, practical suggestions. Third, he gave us a good price and was able to do the installation within a few days of our discussion. What was really impressive, however, was that after trying the grating for fit over the space, his guys took it back to the shop to adjust it to exactly the fit we wanted. There were no complaints at all about having to come back again to finish the work. We would gladly work with Bill and his team again.
