"My wife's ac started to act up. I looked on Angies List and found J & L Automotive Repairs & Service, Inc. I called and spoke to
who was very" nice and friendly. He said that they would take a look at the car and would not charge me to diagnose since it would probably only take a few minutest to do so. I came in on Friday the 10th at around 10:15 a.m.
was able to have the car diagnosed very quickly and confirmed it was the blower motor. Unfortunately they quoted me almost $900 to do the work since they said the dash would have to be removed. I declined the service and went home. I called several places including a Nissan dealership. All were lower than J & L with the dealership being half the cost. I had the service done at the Nissan dealership and found out that the dash does not need to come out on that year model and that it only applied to cars 2 years older. Disappointed that J & L and every place I called except for the dealership knew this. That was the bulk of the cost right there. Needless to say I had the car repaired and everything is fixed. Dealerships may typically charge more, but at least its likely they know what they are doing.

"They recommended a lot of work that would have been perfectly fine but not necessary. Example: replace the brake fluid. There wasn't any pressing need. Every recommendation was" presented on a spectrum from just-installed to needs-repair. They will recommend that you do any thing that's starting to get out of date. Better safe than sorry. Not the place to go if you have an old car on a limited budget. I got a second opinion and went with the second opinion. That's the company that now does all my regular maintenance on the

"I was browsing on AutoTrader when I saw the perfect car at a great price being sold by
. I went to the
website and I found the same car" at the same great price. I called
and spoke to a sales guy for about 20 minutes and he answered my many questions about the car. I told him that I wanted to take it for a test drive. He said that he would get it ready for me and that when I came in, I should ask for
, the sales manager. I took a day off of work, and drove 45 minutes to
. When I got there I asked for
, but instead I was introduced to someone else whose name I can’t remember. I told this person that I’d like to see the car. Here’s what happened:
: “No problem, we’ve already got it ready and waiting for you. We’ll drive it right up.” Me: “Great!" Fifteen minutes later... “Sorry, we can’t find the car for some reason. Give us a few minutes.” Me: “No problem” Fifteen minutes later…
: “We’re still looking. It’s definitely not been sold. We see it in the computer. We’re still looking. In the meantime, would you like to test drive this other car?” Me: “Ummm….that car costs $5,000 more. I’ll just wait for you all to find the car I came to see.”
: “Ok.” Fifteen minutes later…
: “Sorry for the mixup, but we sold the car three weeks ago.” Me: “Seriously?!”
: “Yeah, we’re sorry. But we have lots of other great cars.” ALL the other cars they showed me were $4,000 to $6,000 MORE expensive than the car I was interested in. They didn’t have ONE single car of a similar make/model that was even in the ballpark pricewise. This is what's called a Classic "Bait and Switch”. So much for their “No Bull” Policy. They wasted almost a whole day of my time considering the drive time and all I got was a “sorry.” You have been warned. Note: I reported this to Autotrader.com [they actually have a “Report Bait and Switch” fraud link] and the nonexistent-vehicle ad was removed from the Autotrader website.

Consumer Cars reviews in Hillsdale,

Everything went well and my vehicle passed. It was easy to make an appointment with them that fit my schedule. They made copies of my DMV papers beforehand so everything was ready to go after the test was done. They handled my Honda well - it's an old car and has a few problems.

I got up this morning, started off on my commute, only to discover my tire warning light was on. I got out and saw that one of my tires was low. It was 6:30 in the morning and I didn't want to wait for AAA so I drove over to

, thinking I might have to wait but that someone could eventually help me. As I drove in, the two service people on duty signaled to me where I should go and how to position my wheel. They fixed my tire in less than 10 minutes, charged me $20 and I was on my way. This is the third time I've had a tire or engine problem in the morning and gone to Warks--they always manage to fit me in and get the situation fixed. I use my dealership for most routine service but I am always so glad I live near

's when something goes wrong. They are truly a great neighborhood resource.

Service visit was really great considering I needed an honest opinion after a Davenport dealership had tried to rip me off telling me I needed repair work which I knew was not correct. For example, they said I needed new brake fluid when I'd just had it confirmed to be good the previous week. I suspect when the dealership did a 21 point inspection they likely loosened a hose to get me to come back. It's a shame how many times car shops try to take advantage of women.
So without feeling I could trust the dealership I needed to find an unbiased opinion and I got it by taking my truck to

I live in St. Petersburg and work in
Hillsdale, Consumer Cars Provider Name Locked
so Saturdays are the only convenient day for me to bring my car in. When I told my service advisor
Hillsdale, Consumer Cars Provider Name Locked
this, she said that she would arrange to have someone deliver a loaner car for me and pick up my car to take it to the garage. Just as promised, someone brought me a loaner car and took mine to be repaired and once repaired returned my car to me and picked up the loaner. The radio is now working perfectly.
I am extremely impressed with the outstanding customer service provided by

Dropped off the car before they closed and they called me in the morning letting me know it was fixed. It could have been any number of things based on the diagnostic code but turned out to be a cracked oil dipstick letting air seep in and causing an imbalance. I was happy with everything and will bring my cars there for service in the future....More />

Before we even moved out to the south suburbs from the city, we looked for a mechanic once we knew what area we'd be moving to. We chose
Hillsdale, Consumer Cars Provider Name Locked
's Auto based on online reviews.
Hillsdale, Consumer Cars Provider Name Locked
has always been honest with us and given us a fair price on repairs. He does excellent work and has fixed problems where other mechanics only made it worse. He maintained our '96 Honda until this last summer, when the extent of rust from this brutal past winter was too much and it rusted out the bottom.
It is only

, so make sure you call ahead to see if he has room that day, as many people like to use him. But if it is a really timely repair, he has always made room for us.
