"Had a 9-11 window for service, with a call from them expected half an hour before arrival. No call by 10:30, so I called
directly. The" woman who answered had no idea where the technician was and basically couldn't help me. The technician himself called at 11:00 and said he would be there in an hour, which he was. So an hour late. Dryer vent cleaning went fine. It only took a few minutes (basically just putting the rotor into the exterior vent). A lot of lint came out and spilled on the ground next to our house. Maybe it is normal just to leave it there on these service calls, but the tech didn't clean it up so I did after he left. One very nice thing he did was notice that the tube connecting our dryer to the internal vent was crushed (probably from a contractor on our last job) and replace it for us. I would probably use them again for dryer vent cleaning if not for a negative interaction re: the air duct cleaning service call that was supposed to be completed on the same visit. The tech opened up our AC units for both zones and said he found mold and that he couldn't do the air duct cleaning unless we got our furnace cleaned and interior air passages treated with sanitizer. He said that he had the supplies in his truck, could take care of it right away, and wrote us an estimate. It came to $520! The whole thing felt a bit like an up sell to me, so I told him to just take care of the dryer vent today (see above), that I would get some estimates from other places, and get back in touch with him later. Today someone from LeonPro called me to follow up about getting the work done. I told him that I was still waiting for estimates, and he told me to call him back since he would meet any estimates lower than his. A little while later we decided to ask for a refund Angies List for the AC coupon because
because if we do have a mold problem, we'd rather have mold specialists deal with it. So I called Angies List to ask about the refund -- and I discovered that
had already used the coupon for AC duct cleaning after having refused the clean the ducts! I sent Angies List the invoice which clearly shows that the AC duct work was not completed. We will see what happens and I will update the review accordingly ...

"The worker got there on time and was very pleasant however, he went to one vent and, basically vacuumed it and it only removed as much as it could reach through" that one vent. Normally, they use brushes inside the vent and close off each vent in the house and suck out the dust on each vent. With this service, they only did that to one vent. The description of the vent cleaning process was extremely vague, which may not have been totally his fault. If he had the equipment to do an in depth cleaning, I would hire him again. Unfortunately, he does not have the equipment available.

Yes Jupiter. It depends on the severity of the situation, is the mold encapsulated in the insulation. If yes, than replace [insulation] it with new. Is it on the casing of the heater? If yes, clean it with a mold neutralizing metal cleaner. It's not a matter of finding something or someone to clean or address the existing mold. It's a matter of finding a contractor to rectify what is causing the mold grow. It's coming from excessive moisture in the air-handler unit. I can say with 100% surety you’re dealing with poor airflow and/or incorrect equipment sizing! Either issue will cause excessive icing of the evaporator coil, which leads to excessive condensate water in the system. The condensate will eventually overflow the drain pan leaving stagnant water in the air-handler housing, which leads to mold growth. I would not let any contractor do any kind of temporary repair, add any device like a UV light or air-cleaning product until the aforementioned is corrected. I talk a lot about this in my videos and on my website. It is the result of improper system design from unqualified contractors. There is a reason why some guys cost more than others, and this is one reason why!

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

There are varying opinions on the type of cleaning to have done on your air ducts.  My opinion is that it varies based on the type of duct work you have.  If you have solid material (typically metal) ducting you can have use a company that uses a brush to scrape the system clean.  If you have flexible plastic or foil ducts the solvent cleaners are generally a safer bet since the brushes often tear holes in the soft material and/or pull joints loose.  It really depends on what type on ducting you have.  You're ducts will collect all kinds of dirt, skin cells and allergens over time so if you see dicoloration around your vents it is probably time to get them checked and cleaned.

Also, don't stop at the duct work.  Don't forget your annual system check up by a licensed HVAC technician.  They'll make sure your system is running at peak performance, keeping it running efficiently and with as little impact as possible on your electric bill.  You can often save the cost of the annual tune up in the electricity cost saved.  If you have a natural gas system a bi-annual check and cleaning of the HVAC unit may be advisable to save electricity and gas.

Your right, HVAC companies are really not much help at all in regard to getting all the rooms and floors the same temperature, and airflow.  It's not their focus or their expertise. They repair and sell hardware.  I had the same exact problem here in Central Florida.  I had rooms that were to hot in the summer and the same ones were to cold in the colder months.  I have a 2 story 2800 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms.  I did a lot of research, and I tried to fix it myself, but in reality I made it worse.  I finally found a company here in the Central Florida area called AirFlowBalance, LLC.  Their web site is AirFlowBalance.com.  This company is not an HVAC dealer or repairer.  Their sole focus is to balance the airflow and temperature in a home by using a nonevasive proprietary process, with patented devices. Now, when I set my thermometer at 75 degrees, every room is 75 degrees.  I no longer have to bump up or down the temp from room to room.  No more thermostat wars with my family!  Also, I was very supprised at how affordable it was and the whole job was done under 3 hours.  They also have an online estimate page on their web site.  I hope this helps, and I am not sure if they have an office in AZ.

if you have exhausted all of your choices I would call and put a complain in with the BBB then go to the DA and put a complain with them.  Then get a good lawyer and sue them for all you can get.

the answers in this on this page are all correct but you are using a bandaide to to cure the infection have a trust hvac tech open your system to see where the dust is coming from you more than likely have an impacted coil that need to acid wash to bring it back to oringinal anything left from the fire is still inbeded in that coil. just remember after that job to keep your filters clean change once a month in the summer and every two months in the winter.

Am happy to add a picture of mold on towel i just used to wipe one duct just a couple inches into opening, along with the cracked plastic bathroom panel and the fiberglass insulation left laying all over my daughter's toys. Service was terrific. Glad we had them in--we could've had a major mold problem if the line separation hadn't been detected!

Very highly recommended. I had

out to inspect a newly purchased home where the previous owners appeared to not keep some of the systems in good shape. I didn't want to risk having a problem with the
Hammonton Dryer Vent Cleaning Services Provider Name Locked
and sure enough, the line and exterior screen was totally clogged with lint...a real fire hazard. After inspection, I had the line was cleaned and the exterior screen was fixed. Also, I was instructed about how to properly vent my new dryer once it arrives next week. I didn't know the flexible metal colored venting that everyone seems to use to attach their dryer to the vent opening is not considered optimal any longer. I felt the price was maybe a little high but on the other hand, the service was fast and professional and most importantly, I am now confident we are safe and the dryer will work as it should. Cant' beat that. Overall, I am happy with the service.

did a very thorough job. He spent over two hours making sure everything was cleaned and working properly. WE have a rather long vent run that was clogged from the previous homeowner who apparently never had the vents cleaned. But

just finished the install on a deck for our home. Workers were considerate and timely with all communication. The cost was lower than other estimates we had done for the work. The crew was terrific - respectful of my home and very thoughtful. And best of all the finished product is beautiful - just what we wanted and more! They are a great local business!
