"Everything went very well. I had a right total knee replacement on 6/29/15 and have had an excellent result. I have been pain free for the past 3-4 weeks, and can" do things I have been unable to do for the past two to three years. I would recommend Dr.
to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery. He is an excellent surgeon, very professional, and very easy to talk to. This entire experience has changed my life.

-Joann B.

"I did my homework before deciding on a surgeon. I wanted a surgeon who was the best "technician" In this area. I talked to people. His name came up a lot." These are very tough surgeries to endure. So is the rehab. Dr.
told me if I did everything he told me to....my outcome would be great. It was challenging , but I did. Everything is great. I couldn't ask for better outcomes! He may not be warm and fuzzy but I liked him very much. He is all business but with a sense of humor and cares about providing his patients with the very best care.

Angie's Answers

Sounds like you should be pursuing a disability claim.  Also, you could speak to your previous doctor frankly about your concerns.
Have they made orthotics for your shoes that distribute your weight better?

Whoops - I just realized that you may have been looking for Angie's List information on providers outside your home market. To see information on providers that aren't in your home Angie's List chapter, you can elect to pay a small addditional fee (generally about $15 to $20) to add another city's Angie's List to your existing memember.

This is James W. with Member Care. Thanks for posting your question.

It looks like when you signed up online on 8/5/2014, that you accidentally joined our greater Portland chapter instead of our Salem/Corvallis chapter that your zip code falls under. I have transferred your subscription to that chapter, so you will now have access to the correct area.

I hope this information helps! Please let me know if I can assist further. You can respond to this thread or submit a new Answers post. You can also reach us at 1-866-783-2980. We're open weekdays from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm and Saturdays 8:00 am - 5:00 pm ET.

Knee Care reviews in Hackensack

I chose Dr.
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
for my knee replacement surgery after talking to several physicians and each one recommended Dr.
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
as their first choice because of his experience and expertise. Dr.
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
performs over 700 knee and hip replacements each year and he and his staff have the process down to a science. Dr.
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
spent all of the time I needed patiently answering my questions before and after the surgery. His office staff and nurses are all friendly and efficient in responding to your needs, especially

. The typical hospital stay is two nights and then you are sent home. Home rehab lasts for about two weeks then you are transferred to outpatient physical therapy. It is necessary to have someone with you 24/7 for the first week after surgery as you are not very mobile. Although a difficult surgery my knees have healed well and the arthritis pain I used to have is in the past. The secret is to do everything you are told in physical therapy. The most difficult part of the rehab process for me was difficulty sleeping. It is hard to get comfortable in bed and it seems as though the pain gets more intense at night. After 5-8 weeks it is no longer an issue. My right knee feels near normal after a year and the left knee after 3 1/2 months has a ways to go. I can do any activity after the surgery that did before including golf. I highly recommend Dr.

if you are considering joint replacement surgery. Be aware that he is booked about three months in advance.

I wasn't interested with him either. When I went to him, I was under the impression that he would do the knee replacement. After he had me do everything that I did like the MRI, then he told me he didn't do this. The office people were great. They were always there. I didn't have to wait very long to see him. He didn't do anything for me.
- Barbara P.

excellent service and great bedside manner. office staff were helpful and friendly. I have no problems or concerns with continuing my treatment with Dr.
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
who has taken care of many of my family members with ortho related issues.

Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
was very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I had gone to my GP complaining of back and leg pain. He referred me to Dr
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
due to an MRI I had. Despite the fact that I should have been referred to my original surgeon Dr
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
helped me. I was suffering from back pain sciatica and leg pain. I first met Dr
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
over 20 years ago when he operated on my 13 year old sons hip. He saved my son from having to have an artificial hip. I thought of him when I developed two cases of frozen shoulder over the past 2 years. During the second case of frozen shoulder he helped me with a ruptured disc in my back by sending me for an MRI and also referred me to a surgeon I highly recommend Dr

After evaluating a couple of doctors, I decided on Dr.
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
because he had performed so many procedures and was overly confident in his ability to do a perfect procedure, even speaking of his surgery on his mother. Being in my 40's, this was important to me, knowing I would need surgery again and being active. Afterwards, I was stunned to find that he mis-measured the cut and my leg was just under an inch longer than my other leg. Much to my dismay, he tried to tell my at my first follow-up that it was because of muscle loss. After PT and other consultations, he admitted his mistake and suggested shoe lifts for my other shoe, or possible other follow-up surgery. I am not sure how a practiced surgeon could make such a grievous mistake but now I am paying for it until some day in the future where I will have it redone, since having a perfectly good leg operated on doesn't make a lot of sense. I constantly limp, stand to the side and live with the pain. While anyone can make a mistake, as my husband is a carpenter, I also think that "measure twice, cut once" would have been the thought of the day instead of trying to see how fast a surgery can get done.

The pain had increased over the years and numbness had set in. I went to Dr Companioni and his first reaction was that the numbness did not concern him. I had an MRI done and after that I was in so much pain I could barely walk. I called his office and they told me I could come in that same day as he was on vacation the next week. I got there at 2:30 at my scheduled time and waited for an hour. I found there was blood on the exam table. When the doctor came in, he was not even there for 5 minutes and he said the MRI looked fine. He told me the pain and numbness did not concern him and that in his opinion I needed physical therapy to strengthen the muscles in my legs. When I went to leave the office, I asked for the MRI and they said they did not have it. They said he pulled it up through a site online. I was told he would have the physical MRI when I had this done but the office is now contradicting that. They seem to have no care or concern that I am in extreme pain. I will never go there again.
- Brittany D.

I needed both knees replaced and we went to Dr. VanFlandern because a family friend had an excellent result. My knees were in rough shape and it was less than a month from when I first saw him until surgery was scheduled.

Dr. VanFlandern gave me his number in case I had questions. He called me the night before I entered the hospital to make sure I was all set. He called my wife after surgery and visited me the next morning and every other morning I was there at 5:30AM.

Everything has gone well with the knee replacement and I believe he did an outstanding job. The incisions are very neat and healed rapidly. He is consistently rated one of Boston's "Top Docs" and deserves the title.
- Dana S.

I ended up receiving PRP injections through another provider and I am hoping that after the soreness I will be well. I will not return to Dr.
Hackensack Knee Replacement Surgeons Provider Name Locked
. He IS a nice man but he simply has too many patients to be able to really listen and understand pain levels, etc.
