"The installation part went great and smooth. No complaints. I also ask for the permit. The technician, Salt, has done everything he can with what he knows at the" time. However, after the inspection, additional works need to be done to get it up to code so it failed. I called to let them know and tried to schedule someone to fix the issues since 9/1/2015. They told me I will get a call back within 5 days. I called again on 9/8, 9/10 (x2) and 9/11. I left a message with
who is responsible for all the failed inspection. During those calls, they gave me
's direct number. Yes, I tried that number but it turn out to be a marketing company for some cruise or some traveling agency company. The number is 866-673-7117. I do not understand why they are doing this to me. it is humiliating. I am running out of patience. It is very frustrating. Every time I called, I am told
will call me back. You can do your math how many days it has been now, I still haven't got a call back. so BE AWARE of doing things right at the first time, because to get them come out to fix is IMPOSSIBLE. This tells us something. Either they treat the follow-up clients horribly or they are too busy with the failed inspections. You figure!

"We have had the privilege of working with
for almost five years. He has always gone above and beyond to help us, even during his extremely" busy times. We have an older unit, and
always got it working as good as possible. Last year we had a freon leak, and
was able to replace a component so that it worked even better than it had prior to the leak. This year, his service call included checking all of the components and cleaning it so it worked properly. He is friendly, kind and fair. We are grateful to have found
. He is fair, kind and honest. We highly recommend

When Should I Replace My Water Heater?

Angie Hicks responds to a homeowner who says her water heater is past its expected lifetime.

Water heaters

Standard storage tank water heaters typically need to be replaced after about a decade, but they can last years longer with some homeowner maintenance. When the time comes to buy a new one, there are more options for consumers to consider.

Is your water heater failing or leaking? There's more to consider beyond water heater prices. Installing a new water heater can be dangerous, so it's best to hire a licensed plumber.

Your family’s needs play a large role in whether a storage or tankless water heater is right for you.

A tankless water heater takes up less room and heats water on demand. It can last more than twice as long as a standard tank water heater. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Patti C. of Mobile, Alabama)

You have to put your self in the shoes of a business that is in business to turn a profit of some sort. All businesses have different overhead which in turn decides what their bottom line would be on their services. I personally would not go with an unlicensed professional for this type of install. You are messing with gas, venting issues, electrical wiring{electric water heater} and updated code issues such as a drain pan and tempature and relief drain lines for heaters that currently do not have them. I do agree that there are some companies that are way out of line for their installs but most of these companies are the really big companies that have very high overheads  I would assume. Tank type water heaters have changed over the last several years and with these safety changes come bigger prices. The price of steel thanks to China is skyrocketing and tank type water heaters are made of steel. Most wholesale plumbing supply companies cannot match what the big box stores are selling at retail to consumers. I happen to think from research that heaters such as Rheem, Bradford White and AOSmith who have been in business forever make a better product than what you can buy in the big box outlets. You also have to take in consideration the location of the water heater that is being replaced. Is it in the house, basement, garage or attic. Most 40 and 50 gallon water heaters that are purchased in a plumbing wholesale store in Texas cost between 300-340 for a 6 year warranty heater with 6 year on parts and tank. Speaking of warranty. Most big box companies will take a least 24 hours to a week to get your warranty problem taken care of. Most reputable plumbing companies will give same day service if they installed the heater.

So lets break down a typical install at cost to a licensed plumber in Texas

Heater: $315, water shut off $6.50, water flex lines or unions to code $20, gas flex line and cut off to code $12, misc fittings $15, Total $368.50 Lets add a 35% profit which is some what low  for a business $129, Total 497.50

This doesnt  include permits, pan and drain or any venting issues. The vent must go from the heater to the outside of roof using double wall vent.

Cost of permit on average $60

Most plumbing companies allow for 3 hours of time for a water heater. This includes picking the new one up. Delivering out to house. Draining and removing old water heater. Hauling off old heater. Installing new heater up to code. Going down to city and pulling permit.

Average Labor charges for heater installs $400

That would make this install run without extras on any code issues $957.50

I just had a 50 gallon gas water heater installed in my house for $1200 but I needed a pan installed. I used a licensed plumber.

I've seen and heard mixed reviews.  They aren't really popular here due to our super hard water which clogs and rots everything it sits in.  A company I used to work for tried electric units about 10 years ago in several homes but had to replace many of them within a few years because the build-up from the hard water hindered their productivity to little more than enough supply to run a sink.  I've heard better success with gas units since there are no electric elements to burn out and gas can get hotter, faster to get through the deposits on the tubing walls inside the unit.

Standard electric water heater usually take a 30 amp circuit so they are often wired with 10 guage wire.  Electric on-demand units large enough to service an entire house usually take 50 amps (or more) from what I've researched in the past.  That means they need a 50 amp breaker and will be wired with 6 guage wire.  By the time you factor in the initial cost of buying the much more expensive on-demand unit and rewiring for it I'm not sure you'll save money in the long run.

A better and cheaper option would be to put a timer on your standard water heater so it only kicks on during typical demand times.  They have override switches so you can turn it to cycle normally when you are off of work or need it during the day/night if not during the preset times.  A cheaper point of use water heater at the kitchen sink will ensure you have hot water there even when the main heater is off.  This is usually the point that requires hot water the most frequently.  Remember that your water heater will hold hot water for over an hour once it has cycled off.  Take advantage of that.

Depends a lot on your configuration - he may have been including direct outside venting because your existing heater/furnace duct was not large enough to handle the added load, and may have figured running larger piping to the jetted tub and maybe upsizing the valve and flex tubing at the gas line. This all assumes you have adequate access and installation space for the larger tank - they tend to be fatter rather than much taller.

I would talk to several plumbers - if you get quotes from 3 or more, it should become obvious right off if one is high-balling you. Of course, do not tell the others what the other's bids were.

The water heater itself will cost about $1000-2000 for that size - about double a 50 gallon, which usually costs about $800-1500 installed (replacing an existing plumbed-in one). The larger heater may take a bit of beefing up of the support platform for the added weight, but assuming you have adequate headroom, installation cost using existing ductwork and piping would not be any more than for a 50 gallon, so say $2000-3500 range installed. The $4500-6000 definitely sounds high if it assumed using existing hookups.

There could be. Different municipalities have different rules (codes). However, I have never heard of a plumber being the code enforcement guy. I have never heard of a plumber being able to collect a fine from a homeowner. It may cost you $150 to bring it up to code, but that should be included in the repair cost. You would need to check with your city (usually Department of Code Enforcement or Plumbing Commission). If he put it in writing, you need to send them a copy.
Make sure they get a permit if required. Ask if they will haul away the old. Type of new heater installed and tank warrantee. What kind of parts will the price include, you should have an expansion tank installed and make sure they counter balance the pressure to match the static pressure in the home. Should also include new dielectic unions, do not reuse the old ones. See what the rate for extras is in case they need to do additional work. Check references if possible.

Water Heater Repair And Installation reviews in Bridgeton

I had a clogged kitchen sink, both sides. I called
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
based upon good Angie's List reviews. The repairman came. He opened one side of the sink but claimed that the garbage disposal was clogged on the other side. I called my handyman. He removed the disposal and found that it was clear and the drain was clogged. All the repairman needed to do was run water in the sink with the disposal drain detached and he would have seen that the disposal was not the problem.
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
returned and finished the job. Then about 3 weeks latter the disposal began leaking, ruining the ceiling in the basement. We called our handyman again. He claimed that the disposal had not been reinstalled correctly. If it had been, this would never had happened. Then, when reinstalling the disposal he found a drain washer missing. He knew that it was there the last time he reinstalled the disposal. The repairman must have lost it. Now he is off tot he hardware store. I'll never use

I have an account with
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
of Uniontown Pa. The expertise in the associates is very limited. I intend to use the nearby Home Depot more. I provide my repair people with access to my account. I one particular person happens to be off, no body else can input the names I live thirty miles away. I called to confirm they had a certain item in stock. After six people and twenty minutes the hung up. Home Depot provided a lower estimate on some kitchen cabinets. I ask for a price adjustment to stay with
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
. Four hours later I still didn't have the cabinets. I will have a Home Depot account in the near future.

9/8/2015, I called
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
since it rated very high on Angie's list.
We need a tank water heater with at least 65K BTU to provide both the hot water and the primary heating for the house.
They recommend 10 year warranty Rheem 75G with 75K BTU water heater with estimation of $1,589, which is the best among all other bids....More /> We decided to go with this company and say no to two other companies. One of them give me estimation of $2,379 for the 75G model, and another company told me the price is at least $1700 and they have to scheduled an onsite estimation for final bid.
Maybe the
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
heaters company did mention there will be an additional quote once contractor arrived onsite, but I didn't remember that.
9/10/2015, the contractor named
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
Best came in late about an hour.
Then, he redo measurement and estimation on the installation job for another 30 minutes.
After that, he told me the new quote, and here is the additional cost:
New expansion tank: $179
New vent: $44
New copper water pipe: $192
New gas pipe: $43
Purge hydro heating system: $159
Permit: $76
That's $693 additional on top of the $1,589 quote. I cannot accept it.
I cannot comment on the job quality, since I didn't allow them to touch my system.
Also I have to work on getting the $100 spend on the coupon.

I called
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
in the morning, completely panicking that our hot
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
had broken and was in the process of flooding our basement. Over the phone,
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
told me where to turn off the water valve and told me he would be out within a couple of hours to install a new unit.
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
was running a bit behind schedule and called to tell me his new ETA. I was really happy that he kept the lines of communication open.
The price quoted for the job was $1495 but the gas line had been installed incorrectly by the builder so that had to be fixed. He also suggested adding a
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
underneath the new heater. The job ended up costing $500 over what we were quoted but, obviously, if something needs to be fixed, I want it done right. I did not feel that he was trying to "sell" me additional items. I think he just wanted to do the job properly. My husband watched them completing the job and everything
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
said made sense to us.
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
recommended that we purchase a couple of things (like a water censor) and a couple other things to prevent this from happening in the future. I would definitely use
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
and highly recommend this company.
- Rachel S.

Outstanding under the circumstances. It a 48 yr old house and old pipes and of course the new water heater different size per regulations. In any case he altered the pipes and made the adaptations for new one to fit and connect correctly. He also let me clean after the old one came out. Very happy w Mr
Bridgeton Water Heater Installers Provider Name Locked
and his service and the job he did. It wasn't an easy install.
- Susan C.

It went well. I was renting the home out at the time but the tenants were happy. They also told me about a rebate I could get from the utility company. They are courteous and tidy and reliable.
- Laraine and Laurence D.

He did a good bit of work at my place and I was pleased. I even referred his services to my girlfriend to work on her plumbing. He was on time and did the job as agreed. He even cleaned up after himself.
