"Patched ceiling in garage after someone had accidentally stepped through the attic floor into the garage.
's team came the day they" were expected, and cleaned up after themselves promptly.
came by the next day to evaluate their work before he collected payment. The job was done beautifully and they even were able to match the texture of the garage ceiling so the patch job blends right in. Would certainly recommend their work for quality, punctuality, and responsiveness. The "B" for price is because it seems a bit steep for the amount of ceiling requiring work, however we were in a severe time crunch and they were by far the easiest group to work with and were willing and able to patch the ceiling promptly.

"Icalled
after another
company; APD flaked out on me.
promised me the soonest time he had" available (next day) and arrived a short time before his promised time. He was spot on with his estimate and performed the repair (a hole in the Master Bedroom wall about 12" X 12") absolutely flawlessly!
took special care to perform the job carelessly and meticulously! I hope that I don't have any holes in my walls in the future, but if I do, I would definitely call

Drywall and plaster

Knowing how your interior walls are constructed and what they are made of can help you take better care of your home, as well as provide effective maintenance. You can make small repairs yourself, but the more extensive the job the more likely you'll need a drywall repair contractor to make the wall smooth again.

Dear Angie: Who can I hire to remove a popcorn ceiling? How is it done and what will it cost? — Jonathan H. of Woodland Hills, California, and Marcia E. of Altamonte Springs, Florida

Are those small Styrofoam balls on your ceiling bugging you? You can remove them yourself, or hire a drywall pro.

These service providers are your best bet to patch drywall or plaster holes that plumbers, electricians and other service providers may create while working.

Medium-sized holes can be patched in much the same way as smaller holes, but will require a patching kit to ensure a smooth finish. (Photo by Eldon Lindsay)

You may prefer the lived-in look, but a hole in the wall makes your home look a little too lived in. A pro tells how to repair a hole yourself and save money.

?
My sister-in-law uses brite white toothpaste and rubs it into those small holes. No prep, no sanding.
?

I've used wall liner (it applies like wallpaper only thicker) to cover a multitude of "wall sins" over the years. In my opinion it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. It doesn't look cheap or tacky, it's inexpensive, non-labor intensive and not messy to install.

I used it for the first time about 15 years ago to cover a faux brick tile on my lower kitchen walls that couldn't be removed. It was either tear the wall down or take a chance on $40 worth of wall liner. It did the job beautifully and lasted. Since then I've used it to cover paneling, a badly gouged wall after a kitchen remodel and a wall that looked like a pegboard after floor to ceiling shelving was removed.

Friends and family (and realtors!) have been amazed by the transformation after applying this simple inexpensive product.

?

Remember, you not only have to remove the popcorn texture, but also redo the ceiling in some other texture.

Price will depend on several factors:

1) how much the contractor you choose hates removing popcorn or textured ceilings - some charge $1 or so/SF extra just because they hate it. There are even some who bid total drywall replacement cheaper than removing the popcorn, so you have to first find contractors who are happy to do that work, or your prices will be out of the realistic range

2) if the popcorn predates about 1990, then it could likely have asbestos in it, which doubles or triples the price, and in many cases uncapsulating it with a spray coating and then removing the drywall entirely is actually cheaper than all the protective measures necessary if it is scraped off.

3) whether the popcorn is primarily gypsum and vermiculite (comes off REAL easy) or was the plaster of paris variety, which takes a fair amount of soaking to soften it enough to scrape off

4) what type of finish you are replacing it with - if a textured ceiling, slapcoat, knockdown finish or paneling, not real problem. If you want to go with a perfectly smooth ceiling (generally a bad idea as any variations in the drywall on a ceiling surface really shows up dramatically), then it will demand a lot of care in preparing the scraped surface, and a complete surface drywall compound skim coat to smooth out the scrapes and gouges from the removal process.

5) what underlying conditions are - if there is a lot of furniture to move around (should go to adjacent rooms) or cover and work around, high-quality rug or hardwood floor to super-protect or such, will drive cost up.

I have seen costs run from as low as $0.60/SF to $1.25/SF (for removal only). Generally, remove and recoat with a surface texture of some kind (anything but smooth) and paint will run you about $2.50-3.50/SF.

Now the bad news - if asbestos containing, can run from $5-10/SF. Many homeowners in that situation go the other legal route - have it encapsulated with an asbestos-rated sealant by an asbestos contractor, then paint it and leave it for the next homeowner to decide what to do about it. Some contractors encapsulate it and then put a 1/4" thick drywall layer over it - this usually looks like a disaster unless it has a VERY rough textured finish on it, because putting drywall sheet over a rough surface like popcorn invariably means a wavy surface commonly looks like a gently rolling ocean surface.

did a great job patching, plastering, and painting some areas in our house that sustained some water damage over the winter. He responded quickly to our initial inquiry, was on-time, and did the job in a professional manner.

I'm having a bunch of upgrades done to my home and after the electrician installed the under-cabinet lights, he left two areas in the
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
open where he needed access to run wires. I was aware the
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
repair would be my responsibility, so I went to Angie's List to find a contractor.
I left a message on their voice mail regarding the work I needed done along with my phone numbers.
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
called me right back during a break and asked me to text her pictures of the areas and she would give me a quote. I sent the photos and she responded with a quote and we scheduled the work for 9/1/15. During other work we were having done, a leak was found behind our refrigerator which required a section of
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
be removed. I took a picture of that area and sent it to
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
and she modified the quote based upon the additional work.
Our other contractors finished ahead of schedule, so I contacted
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
to see if we could move the date sooner and she notified me they were on a job that wouldn't finish until Wed afternoon (8/26/15). We set up a time for either very early on the 27th or the afternoon depending on what other job they could get that day. She contacted me on the 26th and told me they got a morning job and I would be the afternoon job. That was fine. She thought it would be 1:00 or so when they would arrive. She contacted me by text that they were going to lunch and would be at my house around 2:15. They arrived on time and began by covering all of the work areas and the entryway of my home. Even though I had sheets and towels down to protect the wood floors, they still put all of their own plastic on the floor. I told them all of my cabinets were new, the walls and baseboards had been painted and the tile floors had been cleaned. They carefully draped all areas surrounding their work area. They simultaneously worked on the wall areas and behind the refrigerator. They "tag teamed" the work, so everything was done and cleaned up within an hour.
If it weren't for the slight color difference between their repair area and my existing wall, you would not be able to tell there had been a repair. They carefully textured the repair areas to match the existing walls.
I was very pleased and if I ever need
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
repair again, I'll definitely call them.

The quote they later provided me for dry rot wood repair was too high, which is fine. But the drywall around the roof access panel was damaged. The person who came to my place,
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
, said that the company would repair it. He said if I went ahead with the work, they could take care of it in one job, or if not, it could be a separate job. I have reached out to
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
with the company more than five times. And every time they told me that they would get
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
back to me. Only today, I got in touch with
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
, and he said the company would not repair it, he would. He then told me it would be delayed a week and a half, so at this point it's hard for me to believe anything the company is saying.

Amazing! We couldn't be more pleased with
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
's work. He was a pleasure to have in our home and went above and beyond to assure we were pleased with the job. When I mentioned we probably wouldn't have time to get a painter in before our baby is due next month, he offered to pick up the paint and complete that for us as well for a very reasonable cost. It looks amazing! We will definitely use
Milford Drywall Contractors Provider Name Locked
again in the future for drywalling needs.
