"
finished our bathroom and our kitchen. I am very pleased with the final results. Kitchen process was easy they told us when to bring what," they work with us on the design and came out to be very good, we like it a lot! bathroom was a little harder so many options and we end up let Ari the project manager help us choosing the items he used. Ari knowledge is really impressive, always have the right answer for you. They understands the value of quality work, especially since a happy customer is more likely to come back for repeat business! Thank you,
. for a job well done. I will not hesitate to call you for any future remodeling projects and will highly recommend you to anyone that asks!

"My husband hired this company to renovate the house we just bought. The Bank gave us a renovation loan with a limit time of 120 days for
" to finish the renovations. They were hired to remodel the kitchen, all the bathrooms, and to bring up to code some of the old house issues. The timeframe was more than enough for all the remodeling to be completed, but this was not the case. Since the beginning, this company was very unprofessional. The renovation was progressing very slowly. For some time they would only show up once a week. They were not answering my husband’s phone calls diligently. We had to be pushing them, insisting them to come and work faster. After a few months the deadline arrived, and the house was not ready. So they asked for a one month extension. Their excuse was that the cabinets that were being shipped from another state were not here yet. But honestly, regardless of the cabinets, the renovation of the whole house was not completed at all. This situation brought great stress in our family since we had to move to the house before the renovation deadline. We’ve been without a functional kitchen for almost 3 months. They promised they would finish the rest of the house as soon as possible, and that the only thing pending would be the cabinets. One month went by and the second deadline arrived. No cabinets, and the renovation was NOT completed. So they asked for another extension for 15 more days. This extension expired also and although the cabinets are in place, the renovation is NOT COMPLETE. At this moment, they haven’t answered my husband’s phone calls. Even if they get to finish the few things left to do, that doesn’t make up for the horrible experience my family has gone through with this company.

This part of Don's answer follows my thoughts exactly:

"You want to deal with a professional person that is selling you a bath that was not working as a cashier a few months ago."

Do you go to the gracery store and ask for someone to cook your steak?  Of course not.  So why would you go to a building supply store and ask for someone to remodel your bathroom?  Rarely will you see a legitimate contractor take jobs from a retailer.  Why?  Because they don't pay much.  Speed is the most important thing to them, along with getting it done cheap so they can maximize profit.  About 10 years ago I worked on a few contracted structures (sheds, garages, etc.) from Home Depot.  They contracted to another company who then contracted people to build them.  At that time they paid a flat $250 for a contractor to pick up the supplies, build the structure on site, paint it, and use their own tools.  By the time the cost of a helper, fuel, tools, etc. was factored in there was nothing left for the contractor.  Anyway, the point I'm making is that the guy who will eventually show up to do the work will be so far down the line that everyone else has already taken the profits (Home Depot, ReBath, possibly someone else, and finally the guy working) that he probably isn't going to care what kind of job he does for you, quality or not.  He likely won't have much experience due to a high turnover rate and any experience he does have will probably be limited to his teachings at that job.  He probably can't answer any building code questions or identify other hazards once things are taken apart and he certainly won't do anything he doesn't have to while it is apart.

Another problem I've heard of repeatedly is that if (when) there is a problem there is always someone else you need to speak to.  You might have to talk to 4 or 5 different people before you can even get to someone that can address the problem.  Now multiply that due to having (at least) two separate companies involoved.  "You need to call ReBath."  "No, you need to call Home Depot."

You hire a general contractor for a reason.  We learn, understand, and keep up on building codes.  We are the one point of contact for all questions and issues on a project.  There is no manager in some other store, state, etc. to call.  You contract a GC and deal directly with that GC, or a site supervisor in some cases.  There isn't a huge chain of command to get through to reach the main decision maker for the business.  In a bathroom remodel you need someone who can do the plumbing, repair and/or move any electrical, install tile/flooring, drywall and paint, trim carpentry, and someone to coordinate all of that.  Sometimes you can find a qualified contractor to do all of those things and sometimes he will sub-contract out certain components (especially due to licensing laws) but you will always have that one definitive person to go to for any questions or issues.  A salesman in a store doesn't visit your home throughout the project to check on the status.  Even if he did, he likely wouldn't now what he is looking at.  The same goes for a retail manager.

Hire someone who specializes in taking care of your home.  Hire based on reputation & knowledge/experience.  You are right that not every customer can be happy so an occassional bad review can be found on just about any business.  Read the reviews, not the grades (they are always biased).  Look to see if the contractor attempted to rectify the problem, not ignore it.  Lastly, unless you want cheap, sloppy work and a whole heap of other troubles, don't hire based on a low price.

Hair spray is one of those things that is really bothersome.  We've run into this alot unfortunately.  And NOTHING we've found will actually clean it off.  The problem is that if you just paint over it, you still see shiny spots wherever the hairspray was.

Our companie's policy is to prime the area with any bonding primer.  This will seal the hairspray in and not let it affect the next coat of paint.  It would also be a good idea to lightly sand the area first.

Our recommendation for primer would be Zinsser's BIN Spray (red can) and can be bought at most paint stores or home improvement stores.  Other than that, any thing that specifically says "bonding" for a primer should be adequate enough.
?
What I always ask my customers regarding this question when remodeling bathrooms is how good they will be about maintaining and cleaning the new bathroom, especially when the old bathroom is obviously neglected.  If you are one of those people who wipes the glass down after a shower and cleans your bathroom every week or two you really don't need to spend the extra money.  If you are at the other end of the spectrum and clean it when it finally bothers you enough it may not be a bad investment.  I've had customer tell me they can tell a difference compared to their old glass without it and others say it made no difference at all.

Your basic rights and protections under law are probably outlined by your state and city's laws. In most states, the easiest way to look up your basic rights and privelges as a consumer would be to visit your state's attorney general website - you can usually find lots of great tips to protect yourself as a consumer there, too. Here's the National Association of Attorneys General's national listing, which includes a link to each state's attorney general website: http://www.naag.org/current-attorneys-general.php

Beyond those basic rights under the law, your expectations of a contractor during, on and after the completion of a job should be explicitly outlined in the estimate and contract. Although it can be a pain in the butt, ALWAYS read the estimate and/or contract before sign it! I cannot stress this enough - frequently the cause of someone's negative experiences with a contractor can be traced back to too few details in the contract.

We've covered contracts, and what you should expect to see in them, here: http://www.angieslist.com/contractor/signing-a-contract.htm

Good luck!

Entered into a contract with CTP in March, 2015 for removal of 20 windows and install 17 replacement windows and also to convert our screen porch into a sunroom. I paid the deposit at time of contract. They returned in May, 2015 where I paid the second installment. They installed two windows and the rest were the wrong color. The returned them to supplier to get corrected. They scheduled numerous times to return to install but never showed. The company office has closed and the owner will not take our call or letters. We have paid them in total $17,100 and they will not release the products we have paid for. Next step will be via the legal system. We are not the only ones this is happening to.

Demolition went well. Clean up after each day's work was excellent.
There were a couple of hiccups along the way. I made a terrible choice for the shower floor tile and decided to rip it up and replace it. This obviously slowed things down, but
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew were very accommodating and got the job done. One of the cabinets was the wrong size, but
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
ordered the correct one and all the cabinets have given me so much more storage. The tile work was excellent. The crew was friendly and professional.
I am thrilled with my new master bath. I would certainly recommend

Showroom and picked out all of the plumbing fixtures and trim, and then went to marble/stone showroom to pick out marble; We had to visit several showrooms to find the exact stone I wanted, but he was very patient and keep getting additional samples, until I was satisfied. Shortly thereafter he provided me with a detailed contract specifying every item, with a total fixed price. I signed, and he started job within two weeks. it took appx. 3 weeks to complete, but his crew worked every day until completion. Their carpentry/wiring/plumbing/cement board/new subfloor. and insulation was all done in a very workmanlike fashion to my satisfaction. Their finishing details work was equally good, they installed marble floor and shower walls, using 24i in X 12 inch marble slabs with hairline joints and work was perfect. their installation of vanity cabinets, which were custom built and the matching marble tops was also performed in meticulous manner. contract was 30% cheaper than other bid, and his workmanship was far superior, to their work , which I have seen on my block. I own commercial properties and deal with contractors on a continual basis, so I able to quickly judge the quality of their work, Additionally, all the extra work which I requested, and was performed, was billed at a very fair rate; not like some contractors who try to "nail you to wall" when pricing extras. They also performed several changes for me during construction, for which they did not charge extra.
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
really goes that extra mile to insure that his customers are happy. I am knowledgeable regarding construction and I am precise about what I want, so when I see good craftsman, I am quite willing to compliment them. have told

Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
did an incredible job on our master bathroom renovation. We contacted them to request a quote and within a week we had a signed contract and the crew had already begun work. I believe they had an unexpected opening in their schedule which allowed them to fit us in, but regardless we were amazed at how quickly they were able to begin. The project coordinator,
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, was extremely responsive and went above and beyond throughout the entire project to ensure that we were satisfied with the end result. The crew,
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
by

, was extremely prompt, arriving at 7am each day and staying until the early evening. Our renovation was a bit more complex as we had TPT move a toilet to the opposite side of the space which required moving the supply line and tying into a drainage line. They also converted a single faucet to a double and moved the plumbing for a new shower. They were able to come up with several options for the plumbing and it turned out perfect. We also had them put in floor to ceiling tile in the shower including a bench and recessed shampoo box, floor tile throughout the entire space, and install a door and lighting. At the end of the project we had an unexpected issue with our faucet in the kitchen - we initially weren't sure why this could have been affected by the renovation, but TPT investigated and found the issue (which was apparently caused when the water pressure was turned off and then on, causing sediment to be released into the kitchen faucet). Not only did they diagnose the issue, but they contacted the provider of the faucet to determine whether it was covered by warranty, and then secured a replacement faucet at no additional cost. All in all, the project finished well within the expected timeline and it was better then we had even hoped. TPT's quality of work, efficiency, punctuality and responsiveness set them apart from their competitors. We are extremely pleased with the end result and will most certainly seek them out for future work.

Design help was provided and a plan developed.
We were introduced to the contractor and we agreed a work schedule ... he would work until late when able as once started on a job he liked to work through. This meant some late nights 9-30pm on occassion by prior arrangement which was fine by us!!
We were invited to review the work as it progressed so we could see the change develop and also address any little questions on what we preferred for light positions etc.
The floors were covered to prevent wear and tear and plastic sheeting was placed throughout the bedroom to prevent mess from dust etc. Great care exhibited at all times and consideration was given for us still living there.
Project was completed ahead of schedule and handed over to us ready to use. We did identify a few kinks and these were corrected within a day with the help of the ever efficient AJ.
Communication from AJ and
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was excellent. We never lacked for information on where things stood and what progress they had made. Excellent customer service, excellent contractors - what more could you ask for??!!!

I love my new kitchen!
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was fabulous, giving me options to choose from (but not too many!!) A part was on back order, but besides the final cabinet, the kitchen was usable as scheduled and as soon as the part came in, they finished the kitchen the following day, including paint touch up and other little things to make it perfect. Would definitely use

I was apprehensive from reading past reviews (2013) but with recent positive reviews, with
Farmington Bathroom And Kitchen Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
explaining they had taken over after those negative reviews had posted and after I checked out the dates, licenses, references, etc for myself we decided to go ahead and give them a shot. They did a fantastic job taking our house (which had a flood recover team work on it) and turning it back into a home. We were pleasantly surprised and would definitely suggest to anyone in need of house work. We have some additional things we need done so I'll be contacting them again and I'll keep their info for the future as well.
The Crew: they were nice, clean and hardworking! I never even saw them take off for lunch, smoking, etc which was shocking for this industry. The contractor even pitched in and did work to help out and get the details.
The Work: was so good that despite me knowing where the work was done and can't point out exactly where the new material is. They matched everything from paint and texture to trim and base boards.
The Price: Extremely competitive and didn't require 100% of costs up front. (we did 1/2 up front and 1/2 at completion post inspection).
The Availability: ready within days of committing to use them and were out much before others.
