"was having what seemed like transmission problem.vehicle did not shift properly as april 2013 the vehicle was doing the same thing so I took it to local dealer who" ran diagnostic check and stated that a solenoid needed replaced.the trans. was repaired at a cost of 900.00 dollars between the time of trans. repair and going to
I took the vehicle to dealer for oil changes and each time was told this or that needed done. I took my vehicle to my personal mechanic and friend who told me that the repairs they suggested were not needed or blown out of proportion.a
who was having similar problem with his vehicle recommended I go to have vehicle checked I asked
to give me a honest opinion of the diagnosis because I feared taking the vehicle to the dealer who did the original work would scam me into a trans. job I did not need.
ran diagnostic and told me the problem was a misfire in the no. 1 mechanic replaced spark plug and the vehicle has been running beautiful ever since.

"2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Transmission stuck in 1st Gear - Manager and all staff were extremely professional and truly understand Customer Service. They immediately performed Diagnostics" based upon information I provided including a Road Test to validate Transmission problems - would not change out of 1st gear. Provided detail explanation of what was wrong and why and what would be required to fix - Rebuild. Provided estimate which is exactly what cost was charged. Because I had no transportation to work when I dropped off, one of Technicians drove me himself. They told me would take a couple days to complete and that's how long it took. They gave me calls to let me know how work was progressing. I knew I had a couple other problems - Oil Sensor not working and slight leak around Valve Cover and they fixed both during same time period for estimate provided prior to work. When I picked up vehicle, they reviewed the work completed, the parts required and detailed costs. They also reviewed Warranty provided for work. Have already recommended and will continue to do so.

"t was quoted a price over the phone and made my appointment for the next week when it was convenient for me. I dropped off the vehicle and the transmission fluid the night before," to allow the transmission to cool before the mechanic worked on it. (I provided the fluid, since I passed a Toyota dealer on the way to
, and the vehicle needed special Toyota fluid.
personnel were amenable to my doing this). I was contacted by phone before noon by the provider that the vehicle work was completed. The work was done for the price quoted. I was so impressed that I took one of my other vehicles to
for its transmission fluid replacement in September.

Transmission Service reviews in Stanley

This review is for the Elmhurst location ONLY.
I drove the full size 4x4 chevy truck in 'limp in mode" (drive & 3rd not working), trans making internal scraping sounds (145k miles) Friday mid morning. The person there, Rich's diagnosed it as failing clutch (in the middle of trans) & it needed to be taken apart to get to the part. gave me a rebuild price which was several hundred dollars less that nearly competitors. They called saturday that a solenoid kit was necessary as metal pieces contaminated the existing solenoids .
Rebuild included a torque convertor, overhaul kit & solenoids.
It was ready Monday morning! So friday noon in & monday am out. Is that FAST FOR A REBUILD- JUST OVER THE WEEKEND!
12month 12000warrenty with $65 filter change service at 6000mi.
Its a good sized operation (possibly over 12lifts) located in an area of Elmhurst with several new & used auto adealerships next door & across the street- so they are definitely set up for good volume- most of the racks were full with regular-plated autos though. My mechanic recommended them- as that is where he send his trans work.
When i looked at the reviews of the other nearby shops, yes they were positive- but- reading the reviews, the prices were $500 to $1000 more for similar work on smaller autos.

Very well - diagnosed and gave estimate - no charge, on the spot. There were two parts to the diagnosis: 1. if the problems were limited to the solenoids - just repair them - $500 2. If not, repair the transmission as well as the solenoids - $2000 more The complete repair was necessary and was done in a timely manner. One year warranty on the repair.

We had a 2004 Honda Odyssey that needed a transmission. We hadn't been able to drive it for over a year. We checked around several different places and finally settled on
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
because they offered the best price and a warranty.
From the start we dealt with "
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
" from GBT. He was honest and professional about what needed to be done and gave us a fair estimate. We were unable to drive the transmission so they made arrangements to have pick it up and tow it to their location to have the work done.
After being out of operation for more that a year there were other things that needed attention and GBT called us to let us know then gave us a fair price. We were very pleased with the professionalism, quality of the work and experience with
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
and in particular with
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
. We would strongly recommend using their services.we've been driving the Van since April and have not had any problems.

Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
, the owner, and Rich are the licensed master transmission technicians at
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
, Maryland. Upon calling
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
and telling him of my possible transmission problems, he suggested I drop the vehicle off for a day or two for diagnosis of the problem.
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
was able to recognize that this was not a transmission problem because the vehicle did not engage in lower gear but accelerated fine in higher gear, which is not associated with transmission problems.
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
identified the problem as a damaged engine seal which covered the ignition coils. Both coils had begun to rust after heavy rainfalls, and the problem I was experiencing was due to an engine problem, not a transmission problem. If he were not an honest technician,
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
could have charged me for transmission service, which can easily go into hundreds and even thousands of dollars. As it was, he was completely honest in informing me of the engine problem.
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
made the necessary seal and coil repairs and charged me an extremely fair price for the work.
Stanley Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
has a staff of excellent, professional transmission technicians. They are honest with their customers, are professional and very responsive. I recommend their automotive services highly.

We brought in my wife's car to check out a check engine and electronic stability control light, which came on at the same time after a long trip. They found that the problem was a hose that had slipped off, and an underinflated tire. They put the hose back where it belonged and put air in the tire and the car's diagnostic lights were all cleared. They proceeded to drive the car around with a sensor attached to make sure that there were no problems with the transmission or stability. In the end, we weren't charged anything, even after I tried to give the manager some money for his diagnostic work. He explained everything thoroughly, and was extremely nice to my wife and I. We will definitely go back here anytime we have any car troubles!

These guys are very good, honest, and reliable. They are not the cheapest, but I would recommend them without any reservations. You know they have to be good if they can close on the weekends...which just shows that the owners are family men.
- Kevin C.

Great. They seemed to be very organized and were very professional. Before beginning work I was given a price range and final price was well within that price range.
