Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews

"I have to say that I was very fortunate to come across
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
on Angie's list. I had never used the site before. I called several
contractors and he came across the most knowledgeable and was very professional. He came when he said he would and
provided quotes for any work he performed. Whenever something came up he would call, text, or email to clarify how I wanted to move forward. When I was unsure what I wanted to do or how things might look he was happy to make some suggestions and went so far as to meet at different places to go over what may or may not work. He is flexible and will try to make what you want happen. I was so happy with the work in my kitchen and living room that I currently have him remodeling my den.
The things that he has done are as follows:
-remove/replace drywall. patch/repair drywall and prep for painting.
-Install hardwood floors
-Install cabinets, farm sink , and tile back splash.
-Remove and replace several doors
-Trim work (crown modeling, trim on cabinets)
-electrical(undermount cabinet lights. switchesand sockets.)
-Plumbing (installed sink and new garbage disposal)
-Install Slate around fireplace
-locate and install one of a kind mantle
I am sure that I have missed some things. I have an older home so there were several time that he came across things that he had to be creative to say the least to make it look good and
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to the occasion every time. There we a couple of times that I was happy with the outcome and he felt it could be better and changed it without additional cost and as hard as it is to admit he
was right!!!
Thanks so much for all you have done. I could'nt be happier.

"Delivered cabinets as advertised. We had a company carpenter install the cabinets. High quality workmanship and a well informed sales staff in the showroom

"Our grade is not based on the end product, clearly, its based on the process of the remodel and our experience.
Things started out quite well actually. A specific designer was recommended to us and we were lucky enough to get squeezed in just before she left to pursue another opportunity. We are extremely happy with our entire design, the space has become a joy in our lives. Unfortunately, we feel,
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
as a company had very little to do with the end product. Once our designer left K & B for good she handed our job over to another "designer" with the company. The new “designer” was nice and polite, but generally, in our opinion, completely uninterested in our job. Any information we needed we had to track down. Any scheduling of deliveries or decisions we had to make we had to call and ask about first. There were times I would get off the phone and wonder if anything would have happened at all if we hadn’t initiated it. Basically, we paid them a lot of money to do a lot of our own legwork. Fixtures of various types were given to us or delivered to our home wrong, and it was only because we happened to peek at the items before they went in that we discovered that they were the wrong finish/size/type. And when we would call to let them know, it was always a computer error or an item miss-sent by the factory, or our “designer” was “out of town” when said wrong item was delivered. Well on occasion we understand that happens, but why did it ever make it all the way to our house?? Why were items not being checked as they arrived in their office? If we happened to not check it out, it would have been installed that way, wasting time and money. This became the most stressful part of the project; we began to feel as if we had to micromanage their part of the remodel. Over and over again I felt lucky that we were living in our house during our
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and that our contractor was also paying close attention, or who knows what we would have ended up with.
Our renovation ended up taking around 8 weeks. And during that time (40 business days) our "designer" only stopped in 3 times, and one of those times she was 4 hours late for the appointment for our granite template, which she never acknowledged. Luckily our contractor happened to be there that morning and was able to help the granite rep since he had a lot of misinformation from K&B. We are certain our granite would have been completely wrong otherwise. On top of this, the granite rep also forgot to take our sinks with him, which, as we understand, our K&B "designer" should have been responsible for, but she was not there.
There were a few other incidents that destroyed our trust in them regarding corrective orders. I will spare the space of going into detail, but I will say that we were flat out lied to at least twice about the timeline of a few replacement orders, and then given bad information in all the days following up, and none of this was ever acknowledged by our "designer". We understand mistakes are made and oversights happen and that they can be embarrassing, but this incident showed a complete lack of respect for us as customers and the lying only increased our displeasure with the situation.
The remaining advice we have for those who do still decide to go with K& B, unless you're short on time and have the money to spare, we suggest shopping around for your own fixtures, tile, gadgets, lighting, appliances, etc. We understand that they need to make their money with some of these markups, but we were able to save several hundred dollars shopping on our own and know we would have saved closer to a thousand if we’d had time to do more.
The only circumstance that has saved this review from a lower grade than the one given is the kindness and cooperation of the manager there in solving a remaining minor issue we have, I regret not dealing with her earlier in our process.

. 6 ... turned entire project around in 7 weeks.... they worked every day.. sometimes on Saturdays...

Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
oversaw everything as the general contractor.... he is courteous, caring and a pleasure to work with. Living in a home during renovation can be stressful... they cleaned up every night and left it "liveable".... His sub-contractors were also very nice.
We had looked at several contractors, had price quotes from three.... (all on Angies' list).... We went with
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
because after talking with him...we felt he was the type of person we wanted to work with...,. (his estimate was also right where the other's were..)

"Once again
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
came through for us in a big way. We couldn't’t be happier with their work on our kitchen remodel. As was the case with the other jobs they have done for us in our home,
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and his crew were personable, pleasant, and
wrapped up each day with a thorough cleaning of their workspace and surrounding areas. I can’t say how important it is to find someone who you can not only trust to do the work correctly, but who also takes exceptional pride and care
in that work.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and his crew often went above and beyond to make us happy, and it was a relief to know that we could entrust our home with all of them. Over an 8 week* remodel it’s impossible to be present every moment, but we never doubted their care for our home and belongings for a second when we were away. All of
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
’ subcontractors treated us, and our home, with
great respect.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
’s attention to detail and his understanding of OUR attention to detail helped make this remodel a great success. He was easy to get a hold of and always available to solve problems as they arose, he was also able to help with the issues that came up with the other company we were working with. We’ll be forever grateful for the love he put into our kitchen, it is the new center of our home and we can’t wait to start the next home project on our list for him.
*the original timeline was more like 5-6 weeks, the change to 8 weeks was outside their control.

"I wasnt really sure how to rate anything but I will tell my story. Last summer (June 27, 2012) we hired
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. (
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
B
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, president) To do the job on our house.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
did a good job on the bid, and everyone that came to prepare the bid said
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
they had known
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
for a long time, etc etc. we felt they were very thorough and that his bid was accurate. After we hired him and signed our contract, work began and was going along very well and we were happy. We were paying him on a draw system. We got to October or so, and realistically the job should have been done but work was still happening, although slow, and we were still happy. Over the next two months, when work should have been done, it really slowed down. This was after we had paid for most of the job.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
had some personal things going on and so we just chalked it up to that. What we were told was that people weren't showing up, etc etc. it was months of "we will be done in the next two weeks". In January I got a letter that there was a
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
on my property due to a bill that Regional hadn't paid for our insulation. Again, I talked to
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
about it and was assured he handled it. During this time,
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
did always return my calls and communicate with me. Pay this time it was around April/ may 2013 and we still weren't done!! There were days when no one showed and then all the sudden a small job would get done.Through this whole time
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was still coming by, answered my phone calls, and still assured me things were getting done. In the beginning of May, I texted
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
with my concerns and was told the job would be done by the end of the month, inspections and all and I would " never have to see him again". By this point all that was left was about half the siding, windows in the existing house, and the air conditioning unit install, plus a couple of inspections. Gutters came about ths time and the brick masons to do a small job to trim out the new sliding door. Well, we had a couple sub contractors contact us during the project because they were having trouble getting paid. We were also told that heating and air was coming for several days and when they didn't show, my Husband and I called some of the companies and found out that bad checks had been written, and we still had the
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
on the house. We also found out that his general Contractors licence was invalid and there was a hold on the permit for our house. Our attorney told us to give
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
time to fix things and complete the job, which we did. Still being told that were were going to be finished soon. I have not seen
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
since may 7 by this point and he only came out one more time that I know of in June when the windows were put in. We had also through all this asked
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
repeatedly if he had our siding and were were told yes. When one of the subs was finally sent to put up the j channel for the siding at the beginning of August, we thought it might be getting done but no such luck. There was always an excuse or a reason why no one was showing up. My husband called
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and told him that he had left us no choice but to go back to our attorney and
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
told him that he would have us right by the end of the week. The following week We had the permit put in our name and told
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
that we would finish the job ourselves.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
asked about the siding and any other supplies of our he had and he said he would bring us our siding. He never did. We got the job done and the final inspection done a little over a week later.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
couldn't have finished the job anyway, with the permit being on hold due to the invalid Contractor Licence. We told
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
all along that we love our addition, it does look great but it was the length of time it took to get the job done and not knowing what was the truth and what was a lie. We finally as of November 2013 know that
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
did finally okay what was owed to Blown Rite insulation. This was after they had to take him to court to get it payed. In my opinion, ONCE WE ALMOST FINISHED PAYING FOR THE JOB HE WAS DONE WITH US. Luckily with what little we still owed
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
(about $1200) and the little that was left to finally finish the job we basically broke even. Obviously we never saw our siding that he supposedly had, and despite trying to get him repeatedly to come pick up the items he had over here, he never did. After giving him 30 days to pick up his items, I sold them. We would advise anyone not to hire
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
or anything else owned by
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
B.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. Yes, we ultimately were happy with the addition but the Business ethics stink. As far as I know their contractors licence is still invalid anyway so he is not legit.

Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
gives honest and accurate estimates. We had him give an estimate for painting our kitchen cabinets inside and out, new laminate on the breakfast bar, and install
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and dishwasher.
We are price conscious and decided to paint our selves (it was the largest cost) He had no issue with us doing part of the work ourselves to save money. He also had no problem with us sourcing our own materials to safe costs.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
made him self available to install components as we were ready for them (
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, dishwasher, counter top.)
The kitchen looks great now! The counter top laminate he installed looks like it was a whole new piece.
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
is conscientious about cleaning up after himself on the work site at the end of the job.
I have several small projects and one large one for
Wilmington Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
coming up. I am happy to use them again!

"Not good.

The division point where bath fitters stopped and a contractor selected for us by them kept varying.

The estimator and the financing provided were inadequate.

Bath fitters did make good on an issue with the flooring and bath fitters did an excellent job on the products installed, a shower and tub.
