Ordered a complete new Heat pump and furnace from
. I had to pay the entire amount of the sale up front ($14,000) three weeks before installation. When I checked on the price I was charged I found out I could save over $3000 by going directly to a local HVAC contractor and cut out the
middleman
-up. When I canceled the sale not only were they not happy, but they are playing games with me in getting me my refund. I have disputed the charge with their credit card provider and am waiting for a resolution. I will never again go to
to purchase a big ticket installation. as they do not deal with honesty and integrity.,

On April 19, 2013 we ordered
Garden carpet by the
Collection from the
and had it installed on May 13, 2013. There was a defect in the design and the pattern of the carpet that caused it to be darker grey when vacuumed in one direction and a moondust grey when vacuumed in another direction. The carpet was inspected on May 24, 2013 and on May 25, 2013 The
initiated a refund on the carpet.
On May 25, 2013 we ordered Pembury carpet from the Soft Collection at The
to replace the defective carpet. The carpet was installed on June 21, 2013. On
30, 2013 my spouse and I made the final move to this residence in Interlochen, MI from our previous home in Saginaw, MI. We are the only two residents at 11790 Many Oaks Drive.
The carpet has many visual defects after one year of use. There are loose threads on the seams and between the rooms. There are multiple spots in the nap where the weave has loosened and loops have pulled up from the surface. The carpet has a 20 year warranty.
On April 25, 2014 I sent a letter to three people at The
outlining the problem. The three people were the Manager of the store, the Carpet Department Manager, and
Sinnard, the Specialty Manager who visited our home and initiated the refund in 2013.
I received the following reply via EMail from The
on May 5, 2014:
"Mr.
, I have created a work order to have someone come out and look at your carpet. Some loose threads can be normal in newer installs, When we send someone out I will have them take pictures of all your concerns and see if we need to get the carpet mill involved. You should hear from someone in about 3 days to schedule an appointment.

On May 21, 2014 two members of
Install (a subcontractor used by The
for installation) were at our Interlochen residence to take pictures. They assured me that the pictures would be forwarded to The

made any visit to our house.
Seven weeks passed. I had not received any communication from The

concerning the carpet. My final line was "I would appreciate your prompt response to this matter". The letter was sent via US Mail to the same three people listed above. A copy of my April 25, 2014 letter was attached.
Three weeks passed with no response. On
28, 2014 I sent another letter inquiring about the matter. A copy of my April 25, 2014 and my
7, 2014 letters were attached. The letter was sent via US Mail to the same three people listed above.
I am appalled by the lack of response from The
concerning the poor quality of their product. I am still anxiously waiting to hear from them.

They promised a deliver date that came and went which held up our entire build schedule. They are a nightmare to deal with. They don't have samples of what you need to order. Horrible customer service. Items received way beyond the promised deliver date. Items were delivered damaged, and or with missing parts.

Despite a few hiccups scheduling (initial order was automatically set to deliver the next day without contacting us as was expected and we live out of state so that was a problem, then the delivery was cancelled due to the item not arriving in stock by the delivery date and the subsequent delivery was scheduled for a completely different date than agreed upon) the actual delivery and hookup went smoothly. The delivery drivers were nice and conscientious.
I recommend verifying the date of delivery a few days before you expect the item just to be sure the date is correct!

Ordered counter tops through

. They use a company out of Denver. They measured my counters, and took my new sink, so they could cut counters perfectly to fit large farm sink. On first date of install, they forgot the sink. Had to wait 2 weeks for them to return, and then last minute said it would be another week. They showed up 3 weeks later, and had not cut the counter to match the sink yet. Had to wait 4 hours for them to install the counters and cut the hole for the sink.

Overall we were pleased; it just took much longer than we expected. The cabinets were delivered on June 17th and the backsplash was installed yesterday (August 12th). Installers were very good: professional, thorough, fast and for the most part dependable. There were some communication problems between us and some of the supervisors both at

and supervisors with some of the sub-contracting companies but it all got worked out. (There were times that it was difficult for us to believe that everyone understood that phones were meant to be used. Calls were sometimes not returned as promptly as we would have liked in some situations and other times not returned at all.) I truly believe if a person knew what was involved and how long it was going to take for such an extensive remodeling project, no one would ever decide to do it but we are very pleased with the final results.

I purchased a linoleum flooring for my kitchen in store. It was supposed to be seamless. The installer said it was not. After my floor was already prep'd & ready to instal. The store manager said he would discount the job by 400.00 to compensate. I agreed. Also the installer said I did not need a subfloor which was in the estimate of charges for $333.00. This should have generated a credit of $733.00. What they did was charge me $2.00 soft for skim coating @196 sq ft to compensate for the $400.00.

dropped the ball on a $45K window order. I gave him the list and did not hear from him for over a month. I got quick response from their competitor, Building Center, and purchased from them. As I mentioned, the yard is now tailored to large conglomerates rather than the local builder. It is too bad this happened. It was a great place to do business in the past. Hopefully they will return to their local yard status and capture the true bread and butter for the industry.
