The owner of
,
came out and spent a few hours with us, asking the specific problems we found with air distribution over the years. He went into each room, checked all air-flow points, then went into the basement to check our complaints about significant air leakage around our main fireplace. He then walked around with my wife and I and pointed out his observations. Turning on the air system, he demonstrated leakage in many areas of our ductwork, where they continued to seep air despite being taped. He gave an estimate to: seal all ductwork with new Aeroseal technology (see online demo), manually seal all large holes, use spray foam on 16 feet of rim joist under the fireplace crawl space. He installed an actual heavy duty vapor
(rather than plastic dropcloth) in both large crawl spaces and sealed it using foam to the insulated stud insulations. He also used 2 inch closed cell foam in the rim joist crawl spaces.

' father and 2 other workers came out and spent two days doing the work. They were neat and helped find and correct a dropped air supply and other issues both related and unrelated to their work. They even found and fixed a few spots where rodents and insects could enter, despite the area supposedly being sealed years before. The aeroseal system, which is quite large, uses a computer readout to show how effective it is in sealing the system. Our system was quite "leaky," and the men spent quite awhile identifying larger spots of leakage before sealing the inside ducts. Our supply efficiency became 98% improved.
The change is dramatic. Every part of each room is equally cooled and we now must keep our system at higher settings in order not to become too cold. All employees of this company have worked together for years. They are personable and helpful. I highly recommend them.

installed the blower in the front door to help identify leaks and walked the entire interior of the house to identify any leaks. He used a thermal FLIR infraCAM

camera to identify the leaks and explained what I could do to correct the problems. He was very thorough and explained all the issues that were identified and explained how to correct the problems. I would highly recommend him for home energy audits.

These guys were real pros. They came in and did their work efficiently and quickly. They filled up every hole and crack that brought in exterior air from the outside to the inside of our home. My wife and I couldn't have been happier. Once they left, we immediately noticed the house was cooler. Our a/c didn't work as hard and the entire house was delightful. The

It took about 5 months for the job to be completed. There were repeated appointments made. The information the crew needed, and what they needed from me was clearly not communicated. When they did come to finish the job I wasn't told they were coming.

contracts out for insulation work. This

to many communication problems and a problem with the quality of the work performed.
They came and did some of the work in October. The crew left early for unprofessional reasons. They came back another day, and while complaining of hangovers they left without doing the job. A new crew came back in March and finished the job well. The job that was done in October they told me was done poorly and the crew member was let go. The price was great because of subsidies and offsets from the utility companies. I'm very happy to have my condo insulated, but the process was difficult.

came out and immediately checked the attic and basement as well as some other things on the first and second floor. He said the main problem was there were no soffit vents in the attic, and the insulation was greatly under the desired R factor. He explained the theory as to why this lack caused the problem upstairs. He said this would need to be done first before we could even check the efficiency of our AC unit because if the attic is not insulated and vented properly, it works the AC unit to death. The AC was working all day to cool off the second floor but wasn't succeeding because of the attic issues. This was wearing out the unit and running up the utility bill. We had

do the work and now the temperature upstairs is always within 1 degree of the setting. Major difference and worth every cent. He knows what he is talking about. Punctual, knowledgeable, courteous and a great guy.

even cut open a sealed attic hatch to see that side of the house and found poor insulation. They also took photos.

and his crew then did the duct sealing and insulation and installed the new air return. They arrived punctually at 6am and worked straight through till 3:20pm. They were very professional and cleaned up afterwards. The air flow in the house is noticeably better, especially in the one bedroom - it's now very comfortable.

Still in process but so far so good, I have been amazed at how detailed and thorough the planning and budgeting process has been. This is definitely not your run of the mill General Contractor. It's run like a professional business and they have been a pleasure to work with.

My experience was excellent working with Buck at
Wake Forest Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
. He arrived on time, we did a quick exterior tour of my semi native landscape around the house, offered some rain catchment and shade tree suggestions to cool the house and shared some interesting design ideas from past projects for rain gardens he has done. We went up in attic to examine a condensation issue I have been experiencing and looked at various alternatives from cellulose spray foam insulation to sealing and re-applying fiberglass insulation to my attic entry door. He also thoroughly checked with an IR visual thermometer device all windows, duct openings, and door threshold seals, and gave some great recommendations to lower my Ac bills. An air test was also performed to find where all windows and door thresholds needed better caulking and rubber seals. He then followed up with a a couple recommendations that made financial sense for us to do now and also longer term energy saving home solution suggestions. Overall his consultant report was written well and was written with easy to understand homeowner friendly wording instead of just a lot of technical jargon you find in such consulting reports. I was also glad to know his credentials were US green building certified
