"First of all, they were the only granite provider (contacted five of them) that would even consider repairing the granite seam. They were quick with initial responses" and the job was completed within about two weeks of initial contact. I feel the price was fair and the quality of the work was very good. I would not hesitate to use

"Excellent and fast service. Personnel who measured were great - installation was right on time and done very well. Quality was great. Only took about 1 month" from order to installation. Highly recommend the folks there.

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

Marble And Granite reviews in Southern Pines

The company completing our remodel had hired them for the job. They were a little backed up and the job did take a little longer to start than we had expected. There were no troubles with the work. We are happy with the countertops.

Got granite from
Southern Pines Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
, first of all they tried to charge my credit card for more than was agreed upon because they took out our old countertops. They never discussed this that it would be extra. I would have removed it myself. They were 5 hours late to install the counter tops and one side wasn't measured correctly by them. The counter top was one inch shorter on one side of the

. It looked really bad. I called continuously for a month to get them to fix the problem. Set me up twice with no show appointments. Finally after threatening to get a lawyer and talk to the bbb they finally came out after 2 months and brought a replacement. The replacement granite was not a very nice piece, but i let that go because i was beyond exhausted. The granite product itself is very rough in spots and always snags cloth. Do not suckered in.

Very detail oriented. Three guys did the job from 11 am to 6pm and it was done very well. This company really takes pride in their work so we are repeat customers!
- Elma G.

The staff is very pleasant. I found one in stock piece of granite, which she did an estimate on the spot. She then gave me names of granite warehouses to look at for other granite styles. The majority of business is commercial and I was advised residential granite installations would be done only on Saturdays. I wanted greater flexibility with the scheduling so ended up having another fabricator take care of my granite installation.

Initially I found them through Angies list here and would not have used them because they are 45 minutes from my house. The reviews here, and their 3cm thick granite intrigued me. Black granite shows a seam on the front

when normal 2cm granite is doubled up on all the edges so a

treatment can be cut into it, and to improve strength. The 3cm material doesn't require this, which actually reduces the labor cost. One estimate for my kitchen had over $1200 just for the labor to do the

doesn't have this cost at all because their CNC robots do all the cutting at the same time, including the kitchen sink cutouts, holes,

details, etc.
They tried to talk me out of our choice of a window-sill piece, but we did it anyway and it looks great. We have a half bull-nose on all the surfaces, and a full bull-nose (full-rounded)
Southern Pines Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
on the window which make it look a bit thinner. They were concerned about water dripping down it, but we don't have water splashing all over the place, and with porcelin tile between the window-sill and the countertop, the surface is basically water-tight anyway...
They also don't like doing granite backsplashes becuse of how warped most walls are. They talked us out of that idea, which I don't mind.
They have all their own granite on site, and that is a great selection. They have some beautiful surfaces!
If you want textured surfaces, they are really good at re-creating the texture on the front detail after cutting it (which results in a smooth cut). I had other installers say they could 'try' to texture it, but they had no confidence that they could do a good job. Mine looks perfectly matched from front

to surface.
They measured everything accurately, including my very curvy sink. One small area has an error that somehow got measured in. I would suggest looking at their proof-sheet at their office and zoom in on all the edges and corners and look for anything strange. The PDF they sent me was great overal, but didn't have the ability to see such a small error in the measurement. They will cut exactly what your cabinets or plywood shape is, so be sure everything is perfect before they come.
The two installers where great. They worked all day to make it as perfect as possible. Absolutely no rush. They didn't even take a lunch, so I bought some for them while they stayed and worked. They appreciated it for sure. Great guys. Took about 7 hours of work to install all four pieces. My kitchen has no breaks, so the granite was all connected, in a 4-sided shape, including overhanging bar area that required metal re-enforcing brackets which they installed.

I bought the $149 special for 3 hours of grout and caulking. When
Southern Pines Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
arrived (half an hour early so I was still in my
Southern Pines Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
) he didn't take off his wet shoes so got my floor wet and dirty. I asked him to remove his shoes as I was cleaning up after him before he started walking on my white carpet. He gave me an estimate of $530 totally forgetting my purchased $149 special and said that was only for labor so $149 would come off the total. His estimate was for cleaning/coloring the floor grout in 2 bathrooms and patching grout and doing caulk in one tub shower. Perhaps that's about right, but seemed high to me. He scheduled me then called me later to schedule me on a different day, forgetting that he'd already scheduled me and I was already on his calendar. He also began upselling cleaning products before he left, which are likely very good, but I would think the upselling of product would happen after the service was performed.
- Rae Lynn Z.

Great job, very fast. When they say they will be there, they are. The owner is very nice to deal with and they have a large selection.
- Marcella H.

They did a beautiful bathroom renovation with floor heat. In addition
Southern Pines Natural Stone Tile Provider Name Locked
helped us with a design of our living room that was also renovated.
Service was just great. I highly recommend

due to the fact that the guys are professionals.
