"The energy audit is really a ploy to sell you a more expensive, radiant
and solar fun combo that you definitely do NOT need! If you read" this review, be warned. Contact me or details. I have actual photo to prove that the product "Radiant
" does absolutely NOTHING to reduce your energy costs, in fact, my energy costs have sky rocketed since they installed it. I have a 5300sqft home. My indoors temperature has always been between 84 – 86 degrees during the summer and my electric bills have always been between $125 - $175 within the same timeframe. We have 3 AC units which stay turned off throughout the day till when we return home. We usually run 2/3 units daily in the evening and all day over the weekend. With the above scenario,
, the sales guy and owner, was very likeable and friendly. He’s really nice and responsive and as a person, I can consider him a friend. However, the product he’s selling is a really bad product that does not work! Hence the mixed rating. Bad product, great service though. I was promised that the temperature within my house will drop to within 6 – 8 degrees of the ambient temperature and that my AC would not have to “work as hard” to cool down the house every evening. It’d reduce the cool down time from our average of 4 hours to about 2 hours. Just for that alone, I coughed over $3,800 for Radiant
and 3 attic fans! Within the same day of the install, I noticed that there was no change to my regular temperature range. Forecast had 88 degrees that day and my inside temperature would be 84 degrees…No improvement. So I cooled down the upstairs to 79 degrees and left it at that the next morning, turning off the AC and recording the temperature. Forecast 86 degrees that day. When I got home that evening from work, my upstairs temp was at 86 degrees! No improvement. I kept recording the temp and realized a pattern of zero improvement after the radiant
, in fact the temps inside were about 2 – 4 degrees higher than usual! I contacted
and he was very responsive but he could not provide me a solution other than blame my AC system which I had checked and it showed that the system was in good working state. So…I spent $3,800 in PAPER WEIGHT worth of Radiant
…I trashed almost 4k! Learn from my mistake!

"The worker showed up unannounced. The company never contacted me to set up an appointment. Luckily I was home when the worker showed. The ad said he would do" 2 doors and my windows. All he did was one door because he did not have the material needed for the other door. Nothing was done to any of the windows because I said I had them done a couple of months before. He did not check any windows. He said he would see about a refund but I have not heard anything since the visit.

Home Energy Audits

One thing homeowners can do to save on energy costs is to have a home energy audit conducted. This will reveal where drafts are entering from outdoors and where insulation is ineffective. Energy auditors can also recommend upgrades in appliances to save energy.

Windows, Energy Efficiency Auditing

Poorly sealed or insulated windows bring heat loss and higher bills. These five tips will help stop cold air, cut your bills and give you a cozier home.

Even in cold-weather climates, homes often lack insulation between the finished, occupied portion of the home and the ground. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member Paul B. of Bluffton, South Carolina)
Insulation, Energy Efficiency Auditing

Exterior foundation insulation is an often overlooked home improvement. It can help stop drafts, lower energy bills and keep your house warmer during winter.

They did a very good job. They charged $99. They put right the clock for me and put the stripping in all the places that I needed it. The price was reasonable. They were two and they were working together. I would use them again.

It was okay. Most of the work they were suggested was with a company that I'm familiar with that is extremely overpriced. They also recommended someone to come out and inspect my furnace, but it would have been expensive and was unnecessary. The companies they were recommending were overpriced.

We moved into a three floor townhouse in November, and throughout the Winter we discovered certain rooms on all three levels were too cold. Despite a warm setting on the thermostat, the white wine in our wine rack in the north corner of the basement was fully chilled without even putting it in the fridge.
Shannon Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
provided thorough inspection, testing and remediation work that solved our problems. They were professional, timely and even stopped by to address some follow up questions several months after the work had been completed.

As it turned out, the access to the attic area was no more than a hatch and had to be enlarged. The crew did this neatly and installed tons of insulation, new thermostat and turned me wise to a Mass Save rebate that would save me $300 on a new furnace which I badly needed. All in all, I needed the work done and they did a great job and saved me a bundle.

They answered immediately and sent someone to our home by 3 pm. Very professional....great service. Compressor needed replaced. The total cost of the service included $89 they would have charged to come to the house. Great deal. Would definitely use

Your in-home evaluation was conducted on 7/8/2015. During the inspection, I evaluated your home’s structural elements, heating/cooling equipment, and energy consuming appliances. The information gathered during the home inspection provided input data to benchmark the energy use of your home and develop a strategic plan for the most effective way to reduce that energy usage. The attached report details the proposed improvement measures including expected savings for your home. If you have any questions about your home’s energy performance, please contact me. Implementing these recommendations will reduce your energy bills and make your home more comfortable and more valuable. It’s important to note that savings estimates provided are approximations to help you prioritize changes. The estimations should not be taken as firm commitments.

Dav is professional and punctual. He's knowledgeable about home energy (e.g. HVAC vs. whole house ventilation systems). My house ducting failed the test but I plan to call him again for a retest after the ducts are sealed by the HVAC contractor.

The folks from
Shannon Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
were easy to work with. They were able to schedule a home energy audit just a few days after I called. They performed the audit, gave us the recommendations, and returned after we had some insulation work done. They rechecked everything and submitted the forms necessary for our rebate. Approximately 6 weeks later, we received the rebate from our energy provider. Overall, I was very satisfied with their service.
