I originally just wanted the rubber strip at the bottom of the garage door replaced, since it was falling off, by JW talked me into an Angie's List deal for a check up of the entire system. It was the right thing to do since the garage door hadn't been inspected for at least 10 years (it was installed about 14 years ago. I am fortunate that it was in good shape, but various roller wheels were replaced and the entire thing was lubricated. The door opens and shuts much more quietly and smoothly, so it was all worth it. The rubber strip was replaced at an additional $25 or so, which I expected so it was no surprise. I don't remember the name of the gentleman who performed the service, but he was polite, professional, efficient and helpful. I am very happy customer.

and Masonry is a class act. When I called for an estimate, they came out the next day and gave a fair assessment of the entire chimney and the brickwork all around the house. Their price was right, and their estimate crew was very nice -
even cleaned out my gutters to
time!! Who does that!?
When it came to doing the job, their crews were professional all day, every day. They did great work, and I am so happy with the state of my chimney and the tuckpointing they did on other parts of the house. They left a clean workspace, taught me how to use the new flue, and went through every point on the work order to make sure that their job was done. Brickwork can be noisy, especially when you have to demolish half of the chimney, but other than the tool noise the men were polite and quiet - no stereos blasting or loud unnecessary shouting.
I am very happy with my experience, and I will call on them if needed in the future.

Chimney Repair reviews in Laurel Hill

It went well, as far as my husband was concerned. Since I wasn't involved in the specifics of the repair work I only know that my husband stated that it looked good when he was finished. He came when he said he would, did what he said he would do for the price that he said it would be so that is all very positive for a contractor.

Bill and his crew really overdelivered. When we had purchased the house, there was an old window a/c unit installed in the basement through the foundation that was at some point ducted up to the kitchen. We wanted this gone and blocked up. We also had a lot of spots along the foundation that needed repointing. Finally, our stairs had worn down along the steps and were uneven, and the sides of the stairs were flaking off.
1) I was originally told by
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
(who provided the estimate) that the textured blocks originally used were no longer available, and that the blocks being installed would be flat. I was OK with that, but during repairs they slapped some extra mud over the new blocks and textured it to blend in very nicely.
2) They went around the entire house when pointing, including areas that are not usually seen due to fencing. Similar quotes from other companies did not include these sections.
3) I was expecting the stairs to be patched up and at least passable. Instead, they had completely resurfaced the entire area, making the whole thing look brand new.
1) When signing the contract,
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
asked for 50% down. Not unreasonable, but I was not told that at the time of the estimate, so I was a little unprepared for it.
2) His crew left while the concrete was curing. I understood there wasn't anything for them to do during this time anyway, but they left without letting us know or if they would be returning.
3) Bill returned to the house to finish texturing the stairs, but was there very late while my wife was trying to get our baby to sleep. However, once I told him about the baby he did quiet down, and I do appreciate his dedication to seeing it complete. I'm also giving him a pass on this due to weather: It was rainy and unseasonably cool, which makes the concrete take longer to set (Bill told me a longer cure also makes it stronger).
Bottom line: Before the work was started, I was embarrassed at the condition of our stairs and having an unsightly air conditioner in the foundation. I now have a beautiful set of stairs that are a lot safer, and a nice clean basement wall instead of an eyesore.

Water was leaking into my house from the chimney area, and it needed to be fixed before autumn.
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
and associates completed this project in a timely way during difficult, hot weather. He worked independently yet was responsive to my inquiries by both phone and email. I hired
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
partly based on his Angie's reviews, which are accurate. His was the only bid I needed and got: he was available, reasonably priced, and experienced, which are the three criteria I had.

Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
was friendly, honest, professional, and helpful. The team arrived on time each day. First they built scaffolding for the main chimney. Then work began. They removed old brick and then began masonry. They worked hard throughout the week, cleaning up each evening. I am proud of the way the chimneys look: we chose a beautiful brick and mortar which complement my older colonial home. The chimneys give my house the crowning touch--I have received many compliments on them!
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
also talked to me about the safety concerns of wood-burning fireplaces in older homes. (I have one log-burning and one gas fireplace). He was honest and caring. I would definitely ask
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
for any further work I might need. I had three other bids--one of them thousands of dollars more for the same work. I am so glad I selected

The owner of the business came to give me an estimate. He was prompt and courteous. After approving the estimate, a date was set up for work to be done. All work was done promptly, and finished in the amount of time that was predicted. The area was cleaned up of any debris when job was finished. I recommend this business to others, and I would definitely use them again.

I was concerned with a big repair bill when my tenant said that the flue seemed rusted shut. Apparently, it was not the case but the repairmen did inspect the rest of the chimney, sealed it, and gave us the confirmation that the it was safe to use. I realized, I did not complete the review last year but wanted to share my positive experience with

. I recently recommended
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
to my brother who also has chimney issues and assured him that these guys will be honest with him.

Rarely does a contractor exceed expectations in every way. These guys are truly exceptions to the
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
of mediocrity.
The price was more than fair, and the workmanship was absolutely superb. Stucco repair is as much art as craft, and the work was done flawlessly and beautifully to match the 70 year old stucco. The brick work repair was not just done well, but also included little hash
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
on the brick repair areas to simulate the brick face that had crumbled away over the years. And the sidewalk is perfectly pitched. They didn't rush through anything. You could tell they take quality seriously.
All this would have been enough to rate these guys an "A," but I also asked
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
last minute if he could do another small concrete repair that was not on the original bid. He gladly did so without charge, refusing to take extra money for the work.
I would re-hire these guys in a heartbeat, and I'll let me best friends and neighbors know they've got the right company for concrete and masonry work.
Top notch all around.

Went great.
Laurel Hill Chimney Repair Services Provider Name Locked
was cheerful, prompt, and made several phone calls to let me know where things stood, what to expect etc. He came with his son - they could not have been more pleasant and efficient. They did not leave a
