"I had emptied the pit to allow access to the pipe and the technician raised the height of the burner unit so the heat and glow would radiate better. He also told me how to improve drainage so lava rocks would dry better .

"Very good experience. Received great help in the store in deciding among the many options available for my fireplace. Installation also went very well and the logs look great!

Sample Gas Fireplaces Reviews
". We visited the store, and chatted with
, who was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. We explained what we were looking for, and our budget. She showed us some examples in her showroom, and we arranged a time for her installer (
) to come and check our existing fireplace for the appropriate size, ...more and also establish any possible problems.
was right on time, and very pleasant. He checked the inner dimensions of the fireplace, the outside venting, and the possibility of raising the fire insert so that it would be more visible when sitting on the sofas. He answered all our questions, explained how the installation could be modified without too much expense, etc.
contacted us with a pricing for the gas insert, venting kit, installation, and also the cost of raising the fireplace, all within 24 hours. We felt it very fair as it was the complete price, no surprises, and they would remove the old fireplace and all the peripheral mess. She had a choice of dates for the installation, and we chose the most convenient one (although we could have had it installed within a week of Gerado measuring the fireplace).
gave us a time (8.30 -9.30 am) and Gerado with
arrived bang on 8.30 am. They laid out protective sheets over the floor (even though we are replacing the carpet, but it was much appreciated!), and then brought in the fireplace. Even though we had decided not to raise the fireplace (thinking of the budget), when Gerado brought out the surround, my husband said that it would probably look a million times better if we raised it 3 inches.
was very patient and we looked to see how we could maximise the height of the insert. As we had initially said we wouldn't raise the insert,
didn't have the materials on hand to achieve this. But he was happy to go and get the necessary boards, etc to build a support under the insert.
carried on with the prep work, and fitting the new chimney cap while
went to the store. It was only an additional $375 to raise it, which included the materials and labor. It was definitely worth it. As they had to cut, grind, bolt, etc the process took until 2pm. But they were quiet, efficient, and very tidy. They brought their own lunch (but I don't think they ate until the job was over!), and left the living room immaculate.
called the next day to check that all had gone as planned. We were more than happy, but did say that the chimney cap base needed to be trimmed from a square to a round so that it wouldn't be so odd looking (
architectural review committee came by as the installation was happening, and requested that it match the other homes in the community).
completely understood, and as they live close by, said that her husband would trim it with tin snips at no extra charge. As it was an exterior job, we wouldn't need to be at home. Perfect!
From the word go,
was helpful, efficient and great to deal with. Her estimate was very descriptive, with the complete list of features that would be included in the price, the installation, and the discount (very nice!). The fireplace looks great, and
showed us the various ways to operate the fire, and took his time to answer all our questions - even though he had another appointment after us. He was unfailingly friendly, helpful and patient. He told us that our satisfaction was very important to him, and that he wanted us to be happy with our fireplace. We are! Thank you so much
. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a new insert, fireplace, or any other heating matter. "
fixed the fireplace as it came back as an item that needed attention on my house inspection report.
was extremly professional and punctual. He did the work and cleaned the fireplace. By the time he was done, it looked like new. I would definitely recommend him as not only is he good, his prices are very reasonable.
, fireplace and outdoor heater. This happened on a Sunday, so my husband called Monday morning and said that we needed it as soon as we could get it as we were completely out. We were told that to get it that day would cost an extra $150.00/ next day service would cost an extra $75.00, ...more but that they guaranteed it would delivered no later than 1 week. We gambled and when we did not hear anything by that Thursday, the day before
4th I called. The person that answered told me that we would not get it until Monday as Friday was a holiday. I told him again that we were completely out. he told me he would check to see if anything could be done and would get back to me. He did not. On Monday,
7th, we called as, by 4:30pm, we still had not received any gas. We were told that there was an emergency and that we would not be getting any gas until the next day. It would have been great to have gotten a phone call. My husband said that "you guaranteed that it would be here by the 7th". The person that answered the phone said he would again look into it and call back. Again, no return phone call.
We are definitely finding another company to work with!! "
"They where on time and new what they were doing, not kids! Everthing worked when they left. About a week later my air stopped working. I called them around 6-7 pm and did not get an answer. minutes later a nice person called and asked me what was wrong and that Forest would call me. Five minutes later I was on the phone explaining the issues, Forest ...more told me he would come over and check after he ate dinner, a half our later he was at my house on the ground trying to figure it out. He found the issue it was a loose thermostate wire inside my furnace he stated that could have came loose when they installed the filter unit so he did an emergency service at now charge. This guy is first class, he stood by his estimate and backed his work without any issues. "
"From day one the fireplace insert did not work as advertised. We wanted an insert where we could set the desired temperature and then let the
do the rest. That never happened. The
would get to a preset temperature, turn off and then never turn back on until someone woke up in the cold and went into ...more the room and started it again.
Not too long after purchasing the
I began to see that this was going to be one of those times when the seller just doesn't do anything to help the buyer. I was SO right. Even though I told them multiple times, the answer I got from the "owner"
was that they don't break, referring to the remote that was supposed to control the turning on and off of the
. Since I'm not the supposed expert in this field (although I think I had figured out far more than the owner ever did) I suggested that if it wasn't the remote it might be the
that was malfunctioning. Again, I guess they figured since I'm a woman I can't figure out a
remote setting, I must be doing something WRONG. How WRONG can you be when you set a temperature and the
turns off and won't turn back ON.
For months, I went back and forth with the people at this place and continued to get nothing from them. They even said they would contact the manufacturer, and then said they had contacted the manufacturer and got no reply. So, then it was MY problem? From the very first day, the
didn't work right. I figured out what it was doing within a week of installation and I contacted them. Over and over and over.
To add insult to injury for this $3000
that wouldn't turn back on with the remote, the blower went out. So, the owner told me that even though they didn't think anything was wrong, they would finally (after months and months of saying they were going to order another remote) order a remote. And, it would cost me $100 to have the blower installed. They did install the blower and gave me another remote. This did NOT help the problem. The
went off some time in the night and the only way it would turn back ON was when I went into the room and turned it back on. I have multiple photos of the
, with the remote sitting in front of it. The
would be off (of course), the remote would be set for 70 degrees and the remote would show that the
was ON even though it wasn't, and the temperature in the room would be 60 or 62..
Had I not been so involved with the care of my elderly mother, I should have taken this unethical person to court. Since I didn't have the time and grew up (wrongly, I guess) believing that when someone sold you something they stood behind their product I ended up with a gas fireplace insert that is only useful if someone is in the house, awake, and continually monitors the temperature, making sure to turn the fireplace back on when the temp drops back to an uncomfortable cool temp.
I can't believe I'm the only person this man cheated. He was so blatant about treating me like I was too
to understand anything. I imagine if he was dealing with women or elderly people he would treat them the same. I also imagine he wouldn't dare to do something like this with someone with means to take him to task and make him service the
like it should have been.
Bottom line at the bottom, I wouldn't buy a dog house from this man. And, I imagine some day
is going to get him good. Just wish I knew about it when it happens. "
was reliable every step of the way from returning calls as she promised, to calling to say she would be late. She worked efficiently and was attentive to keeping the work area clean, which we really appreciate. She also inspected the operation of the gas logs and made adjustments. We are moving to a new house with 2 gas fireplaces ...more and we will definitely call
