responded to our request for a quote almost immediately. The quote was within our expectations, in fact lower than quotes that we requested from other vendors. The work was completed on time as promised. His crew did things that were not specifically detailed in the quote when they felt it would improve the results. Mr.
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was actively involved in the work on a daily basis. He suggested an improvement to make the flashing around the 6 skylights on our home more attractive than before the roof replacement. The new roof looks great, and as expected, there are no leaks. His crew kept the work site clean and orderly each of the three days it took to complete the project. We definitely would recommend

Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Construction had done other work in my neighborhood and placed a professional looking placard on my mailbox. I had researched
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Construction with the Better Business Bureau and saw A+ Rating for this long standing
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
business since 1999. This was prior to my being a member of Angie's List.
I called Mr.
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
, and scheduled an appointment for a quote. He was professional and timely for the appointment, even after I needed to reschedule due to a migraine.
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
first came to my house in August when I was collecting estimate quotes regarding the roof work I needed completed. He gave me the most affordable quote over all of the companies I had contacted, and he even made some recommendations for work that may or may not be needed on my roof, as he wouldn't be able to tell until he got behind the gutter into the facia to see the problem.
I could tell he knew what he was talking about when he pointed out a side of the roof where the shingles had been cut too short and had damaged the molding. No other contractor had pointed this problem out to me, and he even went further to state he'd hold off on that repair until the shingles were replaced, as the problem would occur again if just the molding was replaced. With this knowledge that other contractors just wanted to cover-up and get money for making a repair that wouldn't last,
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Construction won my business.
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
had even made recommendations as to not hold off on making my decision to build-on or have the damage repaired more than a couple of months.
I was able to budget and fit into
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Construction schedule as of October. The company worked around my migraine days and rain days to work me into their work schedule.
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
called me as his team were behind the gutter and noted the damage would take more extensive work for repair. I gave him my blanket approval for the extra materials, labor, and funds needed for the repair. The total amount for repair still came in less than original estimate quotes of other contractors.
I am very happy with the outcome. This company did exceptional work, even finding and repairing frame damage, in addition to replacing the shingles originally cut too short and the side molding. They completed their work in one day, even with the extras that doubled or tripled their time/labor.
I would definitely hire this company again and will for any of my construction or roofing needs!
I apologize for posting this to Angie's List at such a late date of February 5, 2014 when the work was completed in October 2013, but I wanted to get this information online for my neighbors and continued business for this A+++++++ company . . . the migraines are finally leaving me. Hurray!!!

"Told me all was okay just that the back deck roof needed some shingles replaced. Said he would send me some paperwork to show what needed to be done and a copy of his report which I still have not gotten.

"My house is pretty small; it's about 1000-1100 sq feet, with the kind of siding that is no longer being used - it's like cardboard. I did not have any leaks at the time, but have had leaks spot repaired in the past. My current roof was original to the house, which was built in 1987, so it was 26 years old. The owner (sorry, I don't remember his name) came out and gave me an estimate after he showed me the damage on the side of the chimney that faces the roof - the side no one really sees. He said he would add flashing to prevent future leaks - and replace some of the siding - which would add to the cost of the new roof and roof vent. He gave me a website to go to to select the color of the shingles. We set the date and his crew came out at 8am that day. The owner was not here, just the crew. What I really appreciated was a document that he sent me about a week before the job date that listed all the things I needed to know. In addition to a list of what I expected (what they will do, won't do, etc.), was a reminder to take paintings, antiques, etc off of walls, in case vibrations knock them down. And also to consider any pets' reactions to the sound of pounding on the roof. That prompted me to take my 2 parakeets to work that day, which I think they enjoyed. It took them only one day, and they cleaned up all of their debris before they left. The owner came by a few days later to ask me how I liked it. And I love it. I chose the lightest gray, almost white, to reflect the sunlight in hopes of cooling the house a bit in the summertime. It looks great.

"What should have been a four day job turned into a four month nightmare. The first sign of something gone awry was his failure to deliver a promised dumpster to collect the debris from the old roof. Instead, he and his crew tore off the large 50 year old roof and discarded it around the entire periphery of the front and back yard, 1000's of rusty roofing nails and all. It took four months for him to clean up the mess and finish the details of the roof (which we had to hound him about relentlessly). We finally paid him just so we would never have to speak with him again and then had to hire someone else to fix the leaking gutters, the nonfunctioning dryer vent (no hole was cut in the decking installed by
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
although the vent was put back on the roof shingles) and other annoying details. We later found out that he didn't have a worker's comp policy - after multiple reassurances from him that he did - even supplying me with a fake insurance number. Unequivocally, this was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any service provider. The crowning touch was him trying to collect more money than what the contract specified (after we had paid in full) and then having him send his dad out to "investigate" what the problem was. The roof looks great but only because we insisted on having it finished properly and it has yet to be tested by the passage of time and wear. Never, ever again.

"From the beginning, CBS was professional and punctual. We got about 6 bids from roofing companies, ranging from $4500 to around $8000 so CBS' quote seemed to be on the
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
for what was offered (and I didn't feel the sleazy used car salesman "price

Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was on-time for our estimate appointment and spent close to an hour walking around the house to take measurements for a quote. He gave me a detailed diagram (done on the computer) of our roof and a detailed estimate. As far as the work, the workers cleaned up after themselves, were quiet and respectful and finished the job in 2.5 days.
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
responded to all of my questions and concerns promptly. Only issue we had was the materials were dropped off by the distributor (not CBS) and they didn't properly cover them up. I told
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he was unhappy with the company; the next morning they had returned to shrink wrap everything. He clearly was on top of not only his workers but the suppliers of the materials. I would definitely work with CBS again and recommend them to others looking for roofing work.

was great. He was responsive to my phone calls and we often emailed back and forth to communicate. He first came out to look at the windows I wanted done and since the deal was for three windows and he only did two for me, he reduced the priced. However, because our
Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
requires that those nice clean white windows be painted the current color of our units' trim which I don't even like, he had to charge me more for the sandpapering and two different coats of paint needed. He also painted the trim on my screens. Still it was a reasonable cost.

Durham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
did the work himself and was very thorough in everything he did. He cleaned up everything and vacuumed after he was done and rehung my blinds and curtains. He's very bright and I enjoyed talking with him and finding out more about his family and life.
I hope I didn't distract him too much!
I asked him about some other possible jobs in my house and he's looking into that. I'd recommend

"We jumped on a coupon to have a new roof put on. the coupon was purchased October 6th, the roof was put on early December. I was at first disappointed at how long it took to get the roof, but given the nature of the special and the weather, it is understandable that it was 2 months before I saw the roof. I didn't like having to pay 2 months in advance, but everything worked out well. The roof has made a major difference to the heating of our home and looks great. They left no mess and we had no issues. No leaks, no problems. I do recommend them, but if you purchase a coupon, remember to be patient.
I gave a B for punctuality, but this is just to reflect the 2 month waiting period. On our schedule day, they were very prompt and courteous!
