"
IS THE DESIGN SIDE OF THE BUSINESS, STRATEGEM CONSTRUCTION IS THE CONTRACTOR. I FIRST ENGAGED
FOR IDEAS FOR BUILT-INS AROUND THE FIREPLACE" IN MY LIVING ROOM. I MET WITH KAPAN
, AND WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF STUDYING THE AREA, AND THE ENTIRE ROOM, SHE HAD SKETCHED OUT A FANTASTIC AND TRULY UNIQUE DESIGN. A FEW WEEKS LATER SHE SENT ME DRAWINGS THAT WERE EXTREMELY USEFUL FOR ME TO PICTURE EXACTLY HOW EVERYTHING WOULD LOOK. I USED STRATEGEM FOR THE CONSTRUCTION.
IS THE OWNER . HE IS VERY PARTICULAR AND WAS PERSONALLY INVOLVED IN ALL OF THE PLANNING AND MEASURING, IN FACT THERE WERE SEVERAL ROUNDS OF MEASUREMENTS AND DISCUSSIONS WITH HIS STAFF PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. IT TOOK A LITTLE BIT OF TIME TO GET STARTED, BUT ONCE WE DID, EVERYONE INVOLVED WAS PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, AND I WAS VERY APPRECIATIVE OF HOW CAREFUL ALL OF THE WORKERS WERE WHEN BRINGING MATERIALS INTO MY HOME. THEY WERE AS NEAT AS COULD BE, AND CLEANED UP EVERY NIGHT BEFORE LEAVING.
WAS VERY RESPONSIVE, AND QUCK TO ADDRESS ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS THAT I HAD ALONG THE WAY. OVERALL, I AM THRILLED WITH THE DESIGN AND WORK THAT WENT INTO THE BUILT-INS. FOR SEVERAL YEARS I HAVE SEARCHED TO FIND THE RIGHT LOOK FOR THE SPACE, AND WITH THE HELP OF
AND STRATEGEM, I FINALLY HAVE IT.

"
was great to work with. She was a calming influence during the chaos of moving into a new place. She came up with a layout for our living room and dining room" that made the most of the existing space. She helped us to re-use as much of our existing furniture as possible. She helped to select the new furniture that we needed. She went through and helped me figure out where to put all of our wall hangings. She emailed with different ideas for things that we needed. She has a great eye and I am very happy with the way every thing looks. She was good about following up and answering all of my questions promptly.

"We worked with
& Bath on a complete gut renovation of the kitchen in our 90 year old rowhouse. It was a complex project, due to the relatively small footprint" of the space and the fact that we wanted to add a pass-through on a wall that ultimately had a lot of pipes and electrical wires running through it. From the outset,
& Bath provided outstanding service, from design through ordering materials and then through the renovation itself. They listened to our vision and then made suggestions that improved the final result in many different measurable ways. They were also respectful of our budget.
was our point person on the project and he was very responsive throughout the process. He was particularly helpful when we ran into difficulties during the renovation, showing up first thing in the morning, assessing the situation, and then providing the necessary advice to help resolve the issues. (I should note that the issues that were encountered were due to the space itself, not their design.) My husband is an architect who does large institutional projects, so we decided to handle all the various subcontractors (counters, tile, appliances etc.) ourselves in order to maintain the budget.. While we saved money, it was *very* difficult to monitor all of the various elements when both of us have full-time jobs. We are particularly appreciative that
& Bath gave us such excellent service even though we didn't use their full range of services. I have no doubt other kitchen designers would have not been so helpful when we hit the difficulties we did.

I know you said you didn't want a realtor but I do know someone who is good.  Her name is Pam Hunt and she is with William E. Wood.

Otherwise I would check out interior designers.  They could make suggestions and outline some finer details that could help you stage your home.

In the meantime start packing away those personal momentos and pictures.  Clear and clean the walls.  Go with a neutral paint color throughout the house.  Oyster by Behr is a classic.  Start getting rid of clutter.  If you haven't worn it in 3 years or used it in 5....pitch it.  Depending on how long you have lived in your home the accumulation of "things" could be tremendous. Donate your unwanted and unused to a thrift store.  It is tax deductible. Get appliances off the counters in the kitchen.  Buyers want to imagine "their" things sitting there.  Get rid of heavy drapes and go with  sheers consistent throughout the house.  Make rooms look larger by chucking some furniture.  Sell it or put it in storage until you have moved.  How is the floor?   Carpet removed may reveal beautiful hardwoods that are in high demand right now.  Pets?  Get someone to come give you the "sniff" test.  We grow acustomed to the smell of our house and might not recognize pet stinkies. Make everything shine by cleaning thoroughly, and let in the light.  Bright rooms are inviting.  Dark rooms are depressing. These things will give you a head start and clear your mind for some good ides.  Good luck with your interior designer.

I have lost count of how many kitchens I have remodeled and I prefer Brushed Stainless Steel sinks. Polished will show scratched more  and with the brushed finish if you wipe with the grain with a milld scrub pad and an old time product called Bar Keepers Friend the look good almost forever. If you have any concerns about scratches in the bottom you can use a grid when needed, most sink manufacturers make them for their sinks. You say you have stains in a solid surface siink and it is probably the older generation. The newer ones have a high stone content to the mix and are less prone to this but I still prefer stainless.

Unclutterer had a post about this a few months back. While I didn't use the photo gallery method she suggested, I did check out the comments to find some other interesting solutions: http://unclutterer.com/2011/04/04/easily-hang-an-organized-photo-gallery-with-the-perfectpicturewall/

did an excellent job of providing samples of the stone, design of the fireplace wall and mantle, and coordination of the installation of the stonework. Without a lot of trial and error, she got what I wanted in the style and colors of the facade and mantle. She coordinated well with the fireplace installers and the media installers. When the time came for the installation of the stonework and mantle piece, she had her contractors at the house on time and ready to go. The work went smoothly and the finished wall and mantle looked wonderful. I recommend her highly and am using her services for other improvements at the house.

was on time for our scheduled appointment, she let us use the entire hour of consultation and provided some suggestions for space planning. Later she also sent us some color choices by each room. It was worth having her consultation and we would recommend her.

Dawn was professional in every way. She always returned my phone calls promptly, had excellent suggestions that I hadn't even thought of and made it personal for my liking. She was sweet and fun to work with and her pricing was extremely reasonable and I couldn't of been more pleased with the outcome or my experience using Dawn.

She has a very good eye and I loved a lot of her ideas, but the cost of hiring someone to shop and the price of some of the furnishing ideas were out of the range that I could afford to spend.

We worked with
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
at
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
for about 4 months to renovate our home. During this time, we provided him with $17,000 cash to move projects along. In the 4 months, we have NEVER seen a statement, invoice, or professional quote from
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
, even though we asked several times via phone, text, and email.
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
claims he only gives that once a project is complete. Sadly, no project ever became complete and all projects ran 3+ months over schedule.
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
had great ideas but was horrible at executing and meeting deadlines. We tried to communicate in every way possible except snail mail. When did respond, it was in a violent manner, even once threatened to slap me if he was here and not on the phone.
After being fired,
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
stopped communicating with us and continues to hold our pendants hostage (his words) and will not furnish a statement or invoice. We estimate that he owes us over $5,000.00 of money that we cannot put a claim to being spent.
We are starting to take legal action against
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
. We tried every possible way to settle this out of court.
Buyer, beware!

All staff were professional, knowledgable, polite and the stairs came out very nice. The installers even showed me what they were doing along the way and explained why which was desired. I would without question call on them again.

We read great reviews about
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
online, and he didn't disappoint.
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
's primary business is
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
Direct, but he is also very talented with in home design. We purchased the design services and honestly the two businesses never mixed.
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was there purely to help with design ideas and nothing more. I'm sure the rugs are great, we just aren't to that stage of decorating yet. No pressure at all from
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
for rug sales.
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was prompt to get in touch with us, on time and very professional yet relaxed and easy to work with. He came in, took a quick look around, asked what our goals were and then went to work. We asked for honest feedback and for
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
to share all ideas no matter how big or small. He was very quick to grasp our vision and really helped narrow down and specifically identify both short and long terms goals. He brought awareness to key features in our home and pointed out opportunities to both maximize and minimize visibility where needed. In two hours, we covered the living room, dining room, foyer and kitchen. Never felt rushed and had all the answers to our questions (plus a lot more) in plenty of time.
We're excited to start working on the ideas
Clemmons Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
left with us and absolutely would recommend his talents to anyone looking for in home decorating/design assistance.
