Window Cleaning reviews in Canton
I had an appt scheduled with the Owner,
While on the phone with him I was very specific on what we wanted: We have 3 styles of homes in the neighborhood, each house to supply their own lights, each home wants 1 clip per light, each home would leave a sketch of where they wanted their lights ( gutters, side roofline of house and across the top, nothing fancy or challenging), the company we go with supplies the clips b/c they know what they like, each light has a clip etc…. pretty easy, pretty straight forward.
Later that day he called back to give me a bid after he looked at our homes online. His bid was competitive with the 5 other companies that submitted bids. As a neighborhood we decided to go with
His amazing office manager,
November 18th 9am
2 guys show up to begin. Within 2 minutes after I give them instructions, they say that’s not what
"We're simply running lights on the front and then halfway up the side and each homeowner needs to supply clips. Anything outside of that wasn’t apart of the bid “
Alright then, here we go:
I asked them to get their owner on the phone: After a conversation with him I asked him to come out so we could chat about this in person.
He arrives and is now trying to increase the bid that he originally quoted me, asking us to pay additional for clips ( when they were suppose to supply them) and doesn’t want to clip every light b/c it takes to long. After a 35 minute conversation I argued the point that he was the one who failed to show up for the bid, instead going online to look at our homes. I explained to him that we weren’t in a position to change the bid for 10 homeowners after the fact as he agreed to what I was asking for, and it would be hard to find a company to hire to to do 10 homes this late in the season.
As a business owner, he made the decision to quote our bid on the phone and now needed to stand behind what he quoted.
He agreed to perform the job based upon our requests.
I want to let you know that the company we had doing it for the past 6 years spent 1 day in our neighborhood and had every home done by the end of the day. Each home averaged 1.5-2 hrs of labor. Each light was clipped perfectly.
The guys started to put up lights clipping them every 5th light, lights were all crooked and looked like a hot mess. I have pictures to show the work.
Got a call the next day saying, “He totally underestimated the scope of the job and didn’t plan accordingly. They are going to try and get to as many homes as possible today BUT there are some that he is working on rescheduling and will let me know when he will be back out. He guaranteed ALL homes to be done by Thanksgiving.
NOTE: That’s 7 days after they started the project but we agreed that's acceptable! Maybe had he come out to see the scope of the project he would’ve been able to properly schedule this job.
Finally the project is complete. I will say the guy who ended up completing the job was very good. Wish we would’ve had him from the beginning. But what a mess.
Now you ask: How hard can it be to take them down? (My husband ended up taking ours down and took him maybe 25 minutes to get them off the roof)
January 12th: There is NO way that it can take 2 guys 2 hrs per house to take lights down. ( Most house's had 7-9 strands of lights) Well it did!
January 13th: So you would assume that they would be out 1st thing on Tuesday
They moved onto another project and were gonna fit us in when they had time. I would think it would be
January 14th: No one shows up- no phone call from the owner. BUT at 4:01 I get a email from
Finally the job was finished on
After our face to face conversation on November 21st, not once did he reach out to me or 9 of my neighbors to offer an apology or take responsibility for his companies mistakes. A
The team arrived right on time, and we started with a walk through of the house, to point how some problem areas (the skylights, some paint splatter on a deck door), and to confirm the cleaners had access to all of the windows (we had to move some furniture). Once that was complete a team of three cleaners arrived- one worked exclusively on the screens, one on the main level and one on the upstairs windows. They each worked tirelessly for 3.5 hours (to give you an idea of the size of the job, and the amount of work needed). We discovered at one point that our outside tap was not working- I had forgotten we had turned it off last winter after our pipes froze, but they graciously worked around it and carried buckets of water into the driveway to clean the screens. They were extremely professional- wearing booties whenever they were in the house. And the windows were all open at different points throughout the process and it was quite chilly, but they were very cheerful.
The windows are so clean it almost looks like there is no glass in them now. even my husband, who was a little skeptical about hiring someone to clean our windows, so it looked "great!" the next morning. I can't recommend Margaa enough. It was an extremely fair price for the amount of work, and it allowed me to work on other house projects while they completed this one.
