"The men from
were very through and professional. They removed the dirt along side the affected wall and dug down about four feet. In doing" so, they removed the bushes that were growing there because their roots were affecting the structure of the wall. A new concrete
was laid on the outside basement wall with plastic piping to conduct the water to the French drain. Upon my request, instead of foliage being put back, a cement slab was laid over the hole that was dug to enlarge the driveway which is between my neighbor's house and mine.

-Anthony F.

's bid was more than 20% lower than competitor. We were able to schedule with minimal wait (2 weeks). Workers showed up on time and" went right to work. Those fellows work as hard as anyone I've ever seen. Moving dirt out and gravel into the crawl space. They took every precaution necessary to keep our house clean. Overall great job well done.

Angie's Answers

Mold in a basement is a common problem. My company helps people with this every day. Some of the answers you received were helpful but not all the information is correct. First, you need to eliminate the two main ingrediants that mold needs to survive. The first one is water intrusion. This is a must. I am assuming you have no water intrusion as you make no mention. The second componant that needs to be eliminated is moisture. Moisture is also humidity. Basements need to be kept airtight in the summer months. Some folks have posted that you need air flow in your basement. Nothing could be furthur from the truth. When you open any windows for example, not one micron of air goes out of the basement, Warm humid air is sucked into the basement. Houses suck air into the basement and it meets the cool surfaces and skyrockets humidity. The windows must be kept closed and a dehumidification device installed to ensure humidity stays below 60% humidity. The dehumidifier should be energy star rated and purchasing a seperate humidity guage is a must to monitor the unit's progress. We like to keep our customer's basements at 50% humidity. This eliminates the smell that is active mold spore growth. Once the water and humidity is brought under control. Remove the organic materials that have mold on them. Walls, sheetrock and studs that have been affected. Follow the advice of previous posts as you must ensure that you do not affect the rest of the home. Once removed, install new walls using as much inorganic material as possible. We also install vapor barrier over the walls and seal the floors to stopwater vapor transmission into the basement. Poly plastic is not a acceptable vapor barrier. It is not "zero-perm" and will still allow moisture transmission. It will also crack and break into pieces over the years. A PVC liner rated "zero-perm" is the correct product in this application. Depending how large the basement is and if it is sectioned off will determine the dehumidifier strength. We use the Santa Fe line of dehidifiers as they are super energy efficiant and work like a dehumidifier on steriods. I hope this helps and I wish you the best in Basement Health!

Where is the home located, what is the exterior wall construction and type, how is the space heated?

It could be a whole host of different scenarios that would generate that result.  It is nearly impossible to tell but I would say that most basement moisture problems are a result of bulk moisture intrusion or condensation issues.

Given the deep and hard winter this year, it could be a condensation issue that hadn't previously been shown.

Overall a good job but somewhat pricey.

We had chronic water issues in this area which
Candler Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
us to call AA Action Water Proofing. They were extremely responsive and able to fit us into their schedule within a week. The crew was hard working and courteous to our home - taking precautions for dust control, etc. Three months and a few rainstorms later we have a dry basement. There was one aspect of the project not done to our satisfaction and they came within a week to fix it. I'd use them again and recommend them to friends and neighbors.
- Maria Victoria M.

I received three differing diagnosis of my foundation issue from three different bidders. This company was recommended by one of the other bidders and their price was competitive so I chose them. They came on time and cleaned up well.
- Peg R.

After the appointment was made he called to slightly adjust the scheduled time. The day of the appointment he arrived on-time.
Candler Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
came in and inspected the signs of leakage in my basement. He suspected that there were two leaks caused by cracks in the poured concrete foundation. He cut two small sections out of the wall to verify this. Sure enough, both locations had cracks. He was able to adjust his schedule to take care of them immediately. He cut open the wall to expose the cracks, and then used his epoxy and closed-cell foam system to seal them. He was very professional and cleaned up after completing the work.

did a great job, anb told me what all was going on in the crawl space. He left his extension cord behind. Tried to let him know but never heard back. Still got it if he wants it! But seriously, great job. Exactly what I was looking for.

Candler Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
came to my house to give us an estimate on fixing two cracks in our foundation and other leaks. He arrived on time, was very professional, and wrote up the proposal at our house prior to leaving. Most of the other contractors told me that they will send me an email with the proposal. After a month, I am still waiting for those emails. Therefore, I was very happy to see how professional and accurate

We talked with three companies to get quotes and all were pretty good. We liked the
Candler Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
offer the the most and especially liked how much time the sales rep took to talk us through all the possibilities. They were able to begin work within a week or two. They showed up on-time and completed all the work in one day. I've checked the crawl space multiple times over the last year and it has remained dry since they installed their system.

The crew lead
