As a classicly trained chef with over 20 years experience in the highest levels of restaurants, a photographer trained by one of the most famous artists of our time, or a highly educated copy-editor and proofreader, you will not find anyone who can bring such a diverse and complementary skill set to bear.
Artist Statement for Photography: I am a photographer based in the cultural oasis of Asheville, North Carolina. I believe that by freezing moments in time - and enhancing our perception of them - we come to better understand ourselves and our place in the world.
Copy Editing: My specialty is cookbooks. As I copy-edit cookbooks, I do everything a "normal" editor does regarding spelling, grammar, voice, flow, and content. However I also pay special attention to the recipes themselves. Most editors do not understand the intricacies of a recipe and are unfamiliar with the two main style guides used for recipe writing. I am proficient in both "The Recipe Writer's Handbook" and "Recipes Into Type". Additionally, because of my expertise as a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef, I am able to identify errors (usually typographical) in the measurements and ingredients themselves.
Consulting: Whether you need help with a struggling restaurant, help creating the restaurant of your dreams, or anything in-between -- I can serve your needs!
