"Work was professionally done with high quality. Initial install went well but delays occurred due to unforeseen weather conditions. However, some minor problems" had to be re-done due to failed county inspection.

"Guy came out to look at the fireplace. Said the thermocoupler was bad and suggested we replace the entire pilot assembly for over $600. Seems odd given the system" is only 8 years old, but we told him to do it. Then we never heard from them. Called back about 4-5 times and were put on hold for extended periods of time. They promised to call back with an update but never did. When I finally got a hold of them, they told me the technician wrote down the wrong part number and that he would have to come back to write it down again. Pathetic. Why would I trust them to work on gas lines in my house? I have decided to go with another company.

Fireplaces

Most people enjoy sitting in front of a fire on a cold day, but traditional, wood-burning fireplaces come with a few disadvantages. They tend to waste energy, require maintenance and pose some risk. Read this guide to discover several alternatives that provide the same ambiance, but with fewer downsides.

Dear Angie: How much can I expect to pay to have my wood fireplace converted to gas? Our house is about 30 years old. The bottom of the fireplace looks like it's easily accessed through the basement. The conversion would involve running 30 to 50 feet of gas line. — Thomas M., Cincinnati, Ohio

He hasn't legally abandoned the job as long as he is still showing up and doing something, even if it is very little, from time to time.  You'll have to fire him first.  Have documentation that the job is not being done in a timely manner, showing when he has and has not worked.  Be ready for a fight and probably a legal battle since he will likely still want more money or won't refund money paid for incomplete work.

Change the locks and inform the contractor their services on your property are terminated.  Tell him if anyone representing his company enters your property they will be considered trespassing and will be prosecuted.  Then hire another company to check the work he has done to make sure it is right.  Somehow I doubt it is given the nature of his work ethic.  Then have the new contractor repair any bad workmanship and finish the job.  Keep records as any documented things that have to be redone will help your case against the first contractor.

I would recommend finding a good hearth retailer in your area and work with them to select a stove that is right for your home. They should also be able to arrange for certified installer to handle the installation. Keep in mind many areas require a city or county permit for the installation, and it may be wise to have the chimney and fireplace inspected by a certified chimney sweep beforehand.

Let me start by saying I'd hire them again in the future in a heartbeat. I got a call before
Missoula Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived, he removed his shoes (always appreciated), and proceeded to
Missoula Fireplace Contractors Provider Name Locked
drop cloths all around the fireplace before he even brought his stuff up. He did an extremely thorough job of dismantling the 3 sides of the fireplace, dusting/vacuming it as he went and laid everything flat on the cloths, then cleaned the inside and underside of the fireplace better than it had been when we bought it! He was extremely meticulous, which works perfectly for me since both my husband and I are just on the safe side of OCD when it comes to cleaning. He replaced all the embers (and put back 5x the amount he removed), cleaned all the windows to sparkling, and extensively tested for CO2 after putting the glass back up and firing up the fireplace. He tested the gas line, the electric board, the switch, adjusted the logs perfectly. He explained everything he was doing. He was not dallying either, but he did such a thorough job it took him a good 2 hours (3 sided fireplaces do take longer to service). He was a little more expensive than some, but the fireplace has never looked better, and I can be at peace knowing that it is now perfectly safe. There is no accounting for safety when it comes to CO2.

pipe to chimney liner was replaced and patched terribly! Was told when patch dried it would match surrounding stone. When it did dry, patch did not match and also peeled and some fell apart and within first season of use!! Stainless chimney liner installed was not cut to proper height! Not enough clearance at top...Did not know until later when spotted and repaired by a chimney professional. I paid alot of money for this install!

was in a big hurry on this job as well! Do yourself a favor, get educated on your application and be sure not to choose this company for any of your fireplace needs, you will be disappointed. Oh and the fire side manner of employees....lots of bad language when a situation did not go right! This was all the same job. Not a pleasent experience! I wish I did my research!

I received timely responses to begin. At one point we had discussed a date and I misread the email and unfortunately didn't confirm as needed. I sent another email after I realized my mistake and apologized for my error and tried to reschedule as I was very interested in the company due to so many positive reviews. I never heard back and sent two emails after to try to get in contact. I have yet to hear back and at this point I have no interest in pursuing it further. To give them the benefit of the doubt I am assuming it is because they are so busy.

We visited their showroom to discuss the problems we were having with our old gas log fireplace. We explained the cold air back drafts we had when the fireplace was off. We also discussed the high price of propane and how expensive it was to heat the entire house. After describing our home, the size, and our temperature preferences, they recommended a

insert to replace the gas log; it could easily heat our entire home. We scheduled a visit by their installers to look over the existing fireplace and tell me what needed to be done before the

insert could be installed. I volunteered to remove the gas line, install a dedicated 110V circuit for the new

, and shrink the opening of the fireplace to accommodate the new insert. While they were there, my wife asked about upgrading to a brown porcelain exterior and installing fake logs to give it a wood-burning look. To my surprise, they recommended against both upgrades (porcelain chips easily and the fake logs make it harder to clean the insert). It's not often that given a

, someone doesn't try to upsell to make a few dollars. I was impressed with their integrity and honesty.
On the day of the installation they laid down drop cloths from the front door to the fireplace. They were very courteous with both of us, explaining what they were doing and how the venting would work. They were very neat and clean with the installation; it was completed in under 4 hours. They showed up when they said they would and actually took less time to install it then they thought it would take. When the installation was complete, they showed us how to light it and demonstrated how we needed to clean it on a weekly basis. When they left, our home was as clean as when they arrived. My wife and I were very impressed with the professionalism of the installers as well as the sales staff. This was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. I highly recommend

He came and did the consultation but never gave me the drawing. He made some very good suggestions and I had to do a hand-drawing on my own based on his suggestions. I followed up with them but never heard back.He made some suggestions about landscaping at the back fence; he suggested that I get some pine straw and

He came out twice. He is very reasonable and professional. The fireplaces were probably 10 years old and the door of one didn't work so he took it with him to have it fixed by someone with the parts readily available. He just charged what the provider charged him and dropped it off for us.
